Abstract

Background: Maternal nutrition before and during pregnancy is a key determinant of pregnancy outcomes and long-term health for both mother and child. The preconception period is crucial for improving maternal well-being and reducing risks such as preterm birth, low birth weight, and developmental issues. However, many women of childbearing age (WCA) lack adequate nutritional knowledge, increasing the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. Case presentation: In collaboration with the Terminal Health Center, a program was implemented to educate WCA on the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy lifestyles to prepare for pregnancy. Activities included a field survey to assess nutritional knowledge, educational outreach through information sessions and leaflets, and monitoring and evaluation of participants' knowledge improvement. Participants actively engaged in discussions, revealing prior gaps in understanding balanced nutrition and its role in pregnancy preparation. Discussion: The preconception period presents an optimal window for nutritional interventions. Addressing micronutrient deficiencies and promoting healthier diets can reduce the risk of complications such as gestational diabetes and preeclampsia. The program demonstrated that educational interventions delivered through community-based healthcare centers can significantly enhance awareness and encourage long-term behavioral changes, ultimately contributing to better maternal and child health outcomes. Conclusion: This intervention successfully increased nutritional literacy among WCA, emphasizing the importance of balanced nutrition in preparing for pregnancy. Cross-sectoral collaborations between healthcare providers and community leaders are essential to sustain these efforts and improve maternal and child health outcomes. Future programs should focus on expanding outreach and continuous evaluation to maintain positive behavioral changes.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is an important activity in preparing quality generations in the future. Nutrients in the form of sufficient breast milk consumed by infants can affect the growth and development of infants. The source of energy in the form of protein, vitamins and minerals in breast milk is the main source for infants. The 2017 IDHS shows that the coverage of breastfeeding for infants aged < 6 months in Indonesia has generally increased in recent years, reaching 52%. this percentage decreases with the age of the child, for children aged < 1 month the percentage is 67%, this figure decreases to 55% in children aged 2-3 months and decreases to 38% in children aged 4-5 months. One of the obstacles to breastfeeding is a working mother. The purpose of the study was to determine the determinants of breastfeeding during the new normal period by breastfeeding mothers who work with the ID3 algorithm with the method and type of research carried out in this study using a quantitative approach. Quantitative data analysis was carried out in this study using the ID3 Algorithm. The results of the research using the ID3 algorithm found that the determinants of ASIX were obtained from 6 variables: age, education, knowledge, facilities, income and family support, it was found that the knowledge variable was the variable that most influenced the achievement of ASIX in working mothers. As for the income variable, support facilities and education are the accompanying variables. The conclusion of this study is that if the knowledge is good, the variable that becomes the main contributor is income. If there are facilities in the workplace, then the possibility of giving ASIX is achieved, but if there are no facilities in the workplace, family support and the mother's latest education will be seen.

Abstract

Abstract

Microscopic examination is the most common malaria examination technique used in health facilities. However, microscopic examination requires special skills and quite a long time. This research aims to develop a malaria parasite detection system model in blood cell images using deep learning technology to increase the accuracy and speed of detection with the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm. This research was carried out in several stages: data collection, image preprocessing, dividing training data and validation data, creating a model using CNN, and evaluating the model. A CNN model was created to classify blood cell images into two classes, namely infected and uninfected. The dataset used as a reference in forming a detection system model uses blood cell images from the open-source Kaggle as many as 11.312 images. The CNN model evaluation results obtained an accuracy value of 97.17% in detecting blood cell images. These results show that the CNN model created can be used to detect malaria parasites using blood cell images.

Abstract

One of the other things that causes high IMR is giving MP ASI too early. The high provision of Complementary Food for Early Breastfeeding is influenced by family support. The internal factor that influences early complementary feeding is the mother's attitude. Tanjung Seloka Health Center, Kotabaru Regency, is the health center with the third lowest coverage of exclusive breastfeeding, namely 83.7%. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between family support and mother's attitude with early complementary breastfeeding to infants aged <6 months in the work area of the Tanjung Seloka Health Center, Kotabaru District. The results show that 18 respondens (85.7%) who gave MP-ASI early to infants aged <6 months did not receive adequate family support. Statistical analysis reveals a significant relationship between family support and early complementary feeding (p-value = 0,000 < 0,005). Furthermore, all 15 respondents (100%) who gave MP-ASI early complementary feeding (p-value = 0,000 < 0.005). The conlusion: family support and maternal attitude significantly influence the early provision of complementary feeding to infants aged <6 months in the working area of the Tanjung Seloka Health Center, Kotabaru Distric. Strengthening family support and fostering positive maternal attitudes are essential to promoting exclusive breastfeeding practices.

Abstract

Abstract

This community service aims to enhance the capacity of health cadres in Kindingan Village in blood pressure measurement using digital sphygmomanometers. The main problems faced by the service partners are the cadres' low understanding of sphygmomanometer usage, normal blood pressure limits, and pulse monitoring. This activity was conducted in several stages, namely theoretical training, practical training, and evaluation. The team provided grants in the form of 10 units of digital sphygmomanometers and 5 units of infant and adult weighing scales to support their role in community health monitoring. The training results showed a significant increase in the cadres' understanding and skills in accurately measuring blood pressure. The cadres are now able to understand normal blood pressure limits and utilize the pulse feature on the sphygmomanometers, and it is expected that this will improve the overall quality of community health monitoring, especially in the early detection of hypertension.
