Abstract

Ths article concerns a research aimed at improving the quality of learning using self-assessment in the class of Machining Process 3 with the improvement indicated by the students activeness in learning followed by improvement in their performance.The research was a classroom action research consisting of three cycles and conducted on 15 students taking the Machanial Engineering Course PRogram. The data were collated through observation and self-assessment. Then they ware analyzed qualitatively and descriptively.The result indicates that implementation of self-assessment can improve students activeness in learning as well as enhance hhier learning performance. It is suggested that self-assessment be implemented in a class of a larger group of students

Abstract

AbstractGlobalization need Human Resources (HR) having competitivenessopenly with other state, adaptif and anticipative to various new condition and change, can learn how to learning, multi-skilling, re-trained easy, and also have wide of ability bases, strength, and basis for expand in the future. Job market a period of coming will mark by uncertainty, faster, often change, and claim high flexibility. Someone do not only claimed to have ability in working, but also have accomodation-power to change, ability and independence to expand, to solving problem and is skilled of socialCompetence Based Curriculum (CBT) represent education innovationin the effort preparing global HR era. In its learning, CBT want the existence of learning reorientation of model of teaching to model of learning with educative participant centre on (student centered learning).This model place student as learning subyek which must be active develop its ability. Learning have the character of actively, partisipative and kolaboratif and also by totally all aspect efficiency of specific life and also generik. Teacher functioning instructor as learning manager and fasilitator. According to principle mastery learning and developmentof talent, every educative participant have to give by opportunity to reach target down alley and speed learn him. Abstract

Abstract This research aims to describe vocational high school (VHS) educational budget pattern, its problems, and also the effort solve the problems. This research was conducted at stage as well as private VHSs in Yogyakarta. A sample of 11 state and 26 private VHSs was established. Data were collected by using questionnaire, interview, and document and then analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The results indicate that: (a) Educational budget of state and private  VHSs comes from government finance and parents support category, (b) Educational budget of state and private VHSs come more from government than from parents support, whereas that of private VHSs come more from parents than from government. (c) The biggest problem faced by state as well as private VHSs is the delay of payment from the government and the parents. Keywords: Educational Budget Pattern, Vocational High School (SMK)

Abstract

Tujuan umum penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan model teoretis penguatan soft skills dengan tujuan khusus untuk mendapatkan gambaran profil aktual soft skills, mendapatkan gambaran pembekalan soft skills, dan merumuskan model teoretis penguatan soft skills calon guru kejuruan profesional berkarakter. Penelitian ini dipecahkan melalui desain RD. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertama, terdapat 68 dimensi soft skills yang diklasifikasi ke dalam lima dimensi utama, yakni jujur dan dapat dipercaya, tanggung jawab, disiplin, keteladanan, serta ketaatan terhadap etika; kedua, keunggulan calon guru adalah percaya diri, materi pembelajaran mutakhir, pemanfaatan IT, dan ketrampilan mengajar, sedangkan kelemahannya tampak dalam komunikasi interaktif dengan siswa, kurangnya disiplin, tanggung jawab, serta komunikasi dan inovasi; ketiga, pola penanaman soft skills dilakukan terhadap enam unsur, yakni kurikulum, pembelajaran, iklim akademik, kegiatan kemahasiswaan, kepemimpinan dan manajemen, serta hubungan sinergis dengan pemangku kepentingan, khususnya dunia usaha/industri

Abstract

Abstract This research was studying students’ readiness and expectation to the implementation of “constructive active learning”, teaching strategy, to support the competency-based curriculum. A survey with quantitative approach was conducted to third semester students at the Technical Engineering Teaching Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, UNY. With simple random sampling technique there were 197 samples of students. Data collecting with questionnaire have been tested its’ validity by rational judgment and validity of construct through with factor analysis. Reliability calculated with Alpha formula of Cronbach. Data analyzed with descriptive analysis. Result  of research indicate that: 1) Student expectation to constructive active study according to study demand in applying of competence based curriculum is included at medium-high category with average 111.24 and attainment of score equal to 77.25% 2) Readiness of student in constructive active study according to study demand in applying of competence-based curriculum is included medium-high category with average 147.42 and attainment of score equal to 72.26%. therefore competent active study could be applied, but need efforts to improve of the readiness of student in learning. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan model penguatan soft skills dalam mewujudkan calon guru kejuruan profesional berkarakter. Penelitian  dirancang dengan menggunakan  pendekatan  Researchand  Development selama dua tahun. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini meliputi kepala SMK, guru, mahasiswa, dan ahli pendidikan. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian meliputi hal-hal berikut ini. Pertama, rumusan model penguatan soft skills calon guru difokuskan kepada dua mata kuliah utama, yakni pengajaran mikro dan PPL dengan model integratif. Kedua, urgensi aspek hard skills dan soft skills berada dalam kategori baik/penting dengan pencapaian rerata di atas  rerata kriteria, dan pencapaian skor masing-masing 88,2%, dan 87,11%. Ketiga, kemampuan aspek hard skills dan soft skills berada dalam kategori baik/penting dengan pencapaian rerata atas rerata kriteria,dan pencapaian skor masing-masing 72,81%, dan 74,11% dalam kategori cukup tinggi

Abstract

Abstract This research is trying to improve the quality of learning, reduction of misconceptions, improving of learning activity by using the method of Problem-based Learning in the subject matter of Matematika Teknik. The goal of this research is reducing as well as eradicating the students’ inactiveness in learning, reduction ofmisconceptions followed by theimprovement of learning performance. This research is a classroom action research consisting two cycles. Each cycle consists of four steps of activities: planning the action, implementation and observation, reflection and revision. Research conducted to all students participant of Matematika Teknik subject. The data were collected through observation and tests. Data were analyzed descriptively. Result of this research indicate that: (1) Learning model of Problem-Based Learning based on constructivism can reduce the frequency of misconceptions to Matematika Teknik concepts (misconceptions reduced from 87.1%  in pre-test become 41.3% at the post-test), (2) Learning model of Problem-Based Learning base on constructivism can improve students’ leaning activity marked with more and more students participate actively in learning (3) Learning model of Problem-Based Learning base on constructivism can improve learning performance of the students(from 3.3 at pre-test become 7.0 at the time of post-test). Pursuant to result of this research hence require to strive applying of learning model of Problem-Based Learning base on constructivism at broader scope in the effort of improving the quality of learning and education in applying of competence based curriculum. Abstract

This study aimed at planning, constructing, and examining a computer-based learning media to support the implementation ofconstructivist learning in the metrology subject matter. The study usedthe Research and Development (RD) approach. The research stagesincluded: (1) competencies identification, (2) literature review, (3) software development, (4) quality testing, (5) empirical testing, (6) monitoring, (7) software revision, and (8) recording the program.Quantitative data were collected by means of observation sheets,depth interview, and documentation. Data were analyzed using thedescriptive quantitative analysis technique. The results showed that:(1 the quality of the developed media was 73, 13 % (good), (2) thequality of program presentation was at 72, 66 % (good), and (3) theresult of student testing was 76, 14 % (good). It was concluded thatthe developed media was appropriate for use in teaching and learningactivities.

Abstract

PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING: IMPLEMENTASI DAN URGENSINYA BAGI PENINGKATAN KUALITAS PEMBELAJARANAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan implementasi model Problem-based Learning (PBL) dan urgensinya bagi peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di SMK. Penelitian dilakukan di 9 SMK program revitalisasi di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, subjek penelitian adalah guru dan siswa. Objek penelitian adalah model PBL. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket dan observasi yang dilakukan oleh guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: Model PBL dapat diimplementasikan melalui 6 tahap, yaitu tahap pendahuluan, mengorganisasikan, melakukan penyelidikan, membangun hasil penyelidikan dan menyajikan hasil karya, menganalisis dan mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah. Model PBL dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar, kreativitas, berfikir kritis, minat dan motivasi belajar siswa. Model PBL dapat merubah paradigma belajar, dari kegiatan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada guru menjadi pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada siswa. Penerapan Model PBL berdampak pada peningkatan kemampuan siswa, pada aspek kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor. Hambatan pelaksanaan model PBL disebabkan kurangnya mind set guru terhadap proses belajar mengajar yang berorientasi pada siswa, kesulitan membuat trigger, kekhawatiran tidak tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran, dan kekurangberanian siswa untuk menyampaikan hal-hal baru yang berbeda dalam upaya memecahkan masalah. AbstractThis study was aimed at describing the implementation of the Problem-based Learning (PBL) model and its urgency for improving the quality of learning in vocational high school. The study was conducted in 9 vocational revitalization programs in Yogyakarta. The research subjects were teachers and students. The object of research was the PBL model. The data were collected through questionnaires and observations made by the teacher. The results show that PBL model can be implemented through 6 stages, namely the preliminary, organization, investigation, investion report analysis and presentation, and problem solving analysis and evaluation stages. PBL model is able to improve learning outcomes, creativity, critical thinking, interest and motivation of the students. The PBL model is also able to change the learning paradigm, from teacher-oriented to student-oriented learning activity. The application of the PBL model has an impact on improving students' abilities on cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. The obstacles in implementing PBL model are due to the lack of teacher's mind set towards student-oriented teaching and learning processes, difficulties in triggering, fears of not achieving learning objectives, and students' lack of courage to convey different new things in an effort to solve problems.Keywords: problem based learning, vocational school, learning quality
