Abstract

Mathematics is the queen or source of science from other educational sciences, with other purposes. Mathematics as an educational science stands up and develops for itself and can meet other science needs in the development of science. Statistics is one of the materials to be studied in mathematics because, statistics is an important subject to study, it is one of the core materials in the 2013 curriculum. Statistics is the study of a set of ways or rules relating to analysis, collection, inference of data consisting of numbers using a specific assumption. The purpose of this study was to analyze and identify the weaknesses of students or to determine the cause of students mistake in resolving statistical matters. This study used qualitative research methods with an exploratory descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were randomly selected students as many as six people from class XII MIPA . Data collection using documentation conduct diagnostic tests to students and interviews. The result of this study are the types of mistakes students make in solving statistic, namely: concept errors 36,36 %, error formula 18,18 %, error in calculation 18,18 %, error in completion process 27,27 % and subject in this study have not yet been widely understood statistical material in terms of maximum data layout size and data spread size. Because in solving the test problem the subject still makes many mistakes in solving the problem. Keywords: Mathematics, Errors, Statistics, Analysis, Students.

Abstract

This study discusses the low mathematics learning outcomes of student at SMK Negeri 1 GUGUK in class XI Multimedia. The purpose of this study is to find out the low mathematics learning outcomes of student in class XI Multimedia. The sample used consisted of 29 student with 13 female students and 16 male students. The research data collection used the result of observations and interviews with the mathematics teacher in class XI, while the results of the research were that the dayli test result in class XI Multimedia were very low and the majority were below the KKM (Minimum Completeness Criteria), only 10 out of 29 students who were above KKM is around 34.48% and below the KKM is 65.51%. Abstract

Mathematics is a science that has very broad applications in all aspects of life. So much mathematics education has been developed in human life, but until now mathematics is still a subject that is less desirable and preferred by some students, because students generally think that mathematics is a difficult subject. Mathematics is considered difficult because mathematics is a science full of boring calculations and formulas, mathematics is also difficult to communicate because it is formed with symbols, is abstract in nature, and lacks communication, especially oral communication. It can be seen that the lack of maximum student learning outcomes in mathematics. This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes at SMPN 02 Ampek Angkek by applying a cooperative learning model with numbers heads to each other. The problem in this study is that the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMPN 02 Ampek Angkek are still relatively low because they are still below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). This type of research is classroom action research which is carried out in two cycles in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 school year. The subjects of this study were class VIII.2 students of SMPN 02 Ampek Angkek with a total of 27 students. The instrument of this research is to use observation, and test results of learning. After the data is obtained, an analysis is carried out by looking at the activeness of students in each cycle and by using the percentage of learning outcomes. The research results obtained before the implementation of the Numbers Heads Todether (NHT) type learning model, with the average student learning outcomes on test 1 is by looking at one of the student learning outcomes that the criterion value of 0% increases to 40.74% with very good criteria. Abstract

Mathematics is a science that has been learned from an early age. But we see that most students think that mathematics is a lesson or something that is scary and difficult to learn. The difficulties experienced by students can be seen in the process of solving mathematical problems. The purpose of this research in general is to find out what are the students' difficulties in solving word problems on the subject matter of a system of one-variable linear equations in class VII of SMP N 2 Ampek Angkek. The research method used in this research is descriptive method. The results of the study concluded that the difficulties experienced by students in solving word problems on the one-variable linear equation material included: (a) Students had difficulty changing everyday sentences on word problems into mathematical sentences correctly; (b) Students have difficulty making mathematical models; (c) Students have difficulty finding ways and steps to answer questions; (d) Students experience difficulties in performing arithmetic operations in algebraic forms. (2) The difficulties experienced by students were caused by several factors including factors originating from the students themselves, namely: (a) Lack of mastery of the material by students; (b) Lack of student persistence in learning; (c) the lack of students getting word exercises; (d) Lack of concentration. Abstract

This research discusses related to learning interest in grade VIII students of SMP 1 Bukittinggi in the 2022 school year. The purpose of this study is to describe the interest in learning mathematics in female students and male students in class VIII A of SMP 1 Bukittinggi. The method in this study is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the study were 25 students of class VIII A and a class VIII mathematics teacher at SMP 1 Bukittinggi. Research data collection using questionnaires and interviews. The results of the study are as follows: classically, the data of the overall student learning interest questionnaire averaged a percentage of 59%. So, the conclusion is that most of the grade IV students of SDN 18 Tebing Tinggi have an interest in learning mathematics. Meanwhile, based on gender, it was found that the interest in learning mathematics in male students was higher than that of female students (61% > 57%). This is also in accordance with the results of an interview with the homeroom teacher of SDN 18 Tebing Tinggi who also stated that the interest in learning mathematics in male students is higher. Abstract

Algebra is a very important subject in learning mathematics. One of the algebraic sub-materials in mathematics at junior high school is algebraic arithmetic operations. The purpose of this research is to find out the difficulties and factors that cause students' difficulties in completing algebraic operations. This research was conducted at SMP N 1 2x11 Kayutanam in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The subjects in this study were 22 students in class VII-2. In this study, researchers used data collection methods by observation, test descriptions of 8 items, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, students' difficulty in completing algebraic arithmetic operations is the difficulty of concepts and principles. teaches the concept of students' difficulties when determining which includes variables, coefficients, constants and many terms. completing principles by students, namely experiencing difficulties in using the principles of addition and subtraction with positive or negative numbers, lack of understanding of students in groupings of similar tribes, lack of thoroughness in doing algebraic addition and subtraction, students' difficulties in adding algebraic operations, and students having difficulties in principles equate the pronunciation of algebraic fractions. Abstract

This research is motivated by observations and interviews which indicate that the learning process is still centered on the teacher, resulting in passive students and low critical thinking skills in mathematics. One effort to develop critical thinking skills is through the implementation of the Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model. The purpose of this study is to determine the significant effect of the TTW cooperative learning model on the critical thinking skills of grade XI students in SMA Negeri 1 Kecamatan Harau. This study is a pre-experimental research using the Static Group Comparison Design. The sample in this study is class XI IPS 4 as the experimental group and class XI IPS 2 as the control group. The instrument used in this study is a test of critical thinking skills in mathematics. Based on the results of data analysis using t-test and Minitab software, it can be concluded that the null hypothesis is rejected. The calculated value of t is 2.33, while the tabulated value of t is 1.67. Using Minitab software, the P-value (0.011) is less than the level of significance (0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that "There is a significant effect of the Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model on the critical thinking skills of grade XI students in SMA Negeri 1 Kecamatan Harau."

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problems identified in class X SMK N 1 Palembayan, namely a poor learning environment, the LKPD used does not contain the context of numeracy literacy and is not yet based on problem-based learning. student. Thus making it difficult for students to understand the mathematical concepts they are learning. This study aims to create student worksheets based on problem-based learning models with a valid, practical and effective numeracy context for class X students of SMK N 1 Palembayan. This research is a research and development (R&D) type using the Sugiyono development model. This LKPD was validated by four validators and then corrected according to the validator's suggestions. Practical test results from student answer questionnaires and performance tests from student learning outcomes. Based on the development research conducted, it is known that the validity level of LKPD is 80.91% which is in the valid criteria, the practicality level is 81.33%, it is in the very practical criteria and the effectiveness level is 83% it is in the very effective criteria. It can be concluded that the LKPD Mathematics Based on the Problem Based Learning Model with the Context of Numerical Literacy for Class X SMK N 1 Palembayan which was developed is valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics in mathematics learning is becoming a trend in Indonesia. Learning mathematics with ethnomathematics is nothing but introducing and learning mathematical concepts through local culture. This research belongs to qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The purpose of this research is to explore the mathematical concepts found in batik tanah like (clay soil batik). Data in this study were collected by observation, documentation and interviews. Data analysis was carried out with the steps of data reduction, presentation, interpretation, and exposure. The result of this research is that in the motifs of batik tanah "liek" many geometry concepts are found such as: point, line, curved line, parallel line, triangle, rectangle, square, circle, angle, opposite angle, symmetry and kesebangunan. Different motifs have different geometry concepts. The findings of geometry concepts in batik tanah "liek" can be used as a learning resource in learning mathematics. Using learning resources that are in accordance with student culture can make learning meaningful and can increase love for local culture.

Abstract

Eduwisata jam gadang park, is a historic and interesting tourist spot, especially its beauty. Jam gadang park is one of the eduwisata found in the city of Bukittinggi. In addition to enjoying its beauty, this eduwisata can be used as a learning resource for students, especially elementary school students in the city of Bukittinggi. The purpose of this study was to explore the mathematical concepts that exist in the edu-tourism park jam gadang and then used as a learning resource for elementary school students. This type of research is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data were obtained by researchers through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the exploration of the mathematical concepts of eduwisata taman jam gadang include; the concept of circle, square, rectangle, triangle, rhombus, clock number, and purchase price, selling price, profit and loss (social arithmetic). The mathematical concepts in this edu-tourism park can be used by teachers as a source of learning mathematics for elementary school students. The use of eduwisata jam gadang park as a learning resource can foster students' love of mathematics and local culture.
