Abstract

Introduction: Individuals aged 60 years and above, defined as the elderly, undergo physical and neurological changes due to degenerative processes, often associated with health problems. The risk of hypertension is common among the elderly due to their tendency to have high blood pressure. One factor contributing to hypertension is sleep quality, defined by how well a person sleeps and is characterized by feelings of freshness and vigour upon waking. Methods: An observational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach was chosen for this research. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. A total of 98 older women were obtained through Lemeshow's sample calculation. Data collection included measuring the sleep quality of the elderly using the Indonesian version of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire and measuring hypertension levels using a sphygmomanometer and stethoscope. Results: Hypothesis analysis using Spearman's rho test showed a significant relationship between sleep quality and hypertension levels among the elderly in Pejeng Tampaksiring Village, with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between sleep quality and hypertension levels among the elderly in Pejeng Tampaksiring Village. Abstract

This research is motivated by sustainable tourism and its relevance to the development of facilities and infrastructure on Padang Beach. Preliminary data shows an increase in the number of tourist visits to Padang Beach, indicating continued increasing interest in this destination. This article aims to analyze the effectiveness of the facilities and infrastructure development program at Padang Beach in achieving sustainable tourism goals. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach involving 14 informants in May 2023. The research results reveal that several challenges still need to be overcome in developing sustainable tourism on Padang Beach. Improving service quality is still not optimal; there needs to be more local community involvement, as well as infrastructure challenges such as inadequate public transportation, inadequate parking, and a lack of public facilities such as toilets. Environmental management must also be improved to reduce negative impacts on coastal and aquatic ecosystems. Based on the results and discussion, this article concludes that further efforts must be made to enhance the quality of service, involve local communities in tourism development, overcome infrastructure challenges, and improve the environmental management at Padang Beach. This research is hoped better to understand the effectiveness of facilities and infrastructure development programs and provide input for policies and practices for sustainable tourism development in other destinations.

Abstract

Abstract

Futsal is a sport that requires speed and agility. However, the physical fitness measurements of futsal extracurricular students at MAN 2 Soppeng indicated below average speed and agility. This study aims to compare the effects of combining core stability exercise with plyometric training and ladder training on improving speed and agility. This was a true experimental study with the randomized match two groups design involving 22 students, divided into two groups of 11. Group 1 received CSE+PT, while Group 2 received CSE+LT for 6 weeks. Speed was measured using a 30-meter sprint test, and agility was assessed with the Illinois Agility Test. Both groups showed significant improvements in agility (p=<0.001). For speed, Group 1 showed p=0.003 and Group 2 p=<0.001. However, there was no significant difference between groups for speed improvement (p=0.061), while there was a significant difference in agility (p=<0.001). This study suggests CSE+LT is more effective in enhancing agility).

Abstract

The low level of Universal Coverage Jamsostek (UCJ) in Padang City reflects the limited access to social security protection, particularly for informal and vulnerable workers. This study aims to analyze the collaborative process among stakeholders in expanding BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participation and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors. A descriptive qualitative method was employed through interviews, documentation, and observations, with data validated using source triangulation. Informants were selected through purposive sampling to ensure the representation of key actors. The findings reveal that the collaboration has not yet produced a significant increase in the number of participants from the informal sector. Nevertheless, the process has fostered equality of roles, stronger commitment, and more open communication among institutions. Theoretically, this research contributes to the development of Collaborative Governance studies by emphasizing the importance of process dynamics rather than solely focusing on outcomes. In terms of policy implications, the results highlight the need to strengthen regulations, provide sufficient budgetary support, and encourage active involvement of local governments to ensure the sustainability of cross-sector collaboration. Thus, efforts to expand social security coverage can become more structured, inclusive, and oriented toward the protection of informal workers who remain highly vulnerable.

Abstract

Medical nutrition therapy is essential in diabetes management, especially as diabetes is often linked with aging. Porang tuber flour contains glucomannan, a compound with potential glucose-lowering effects. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of porang flour feeding frequency on 2-hour postprandial blood glucose (2hPPBG) and HOMA-IR in diabetic rats. Using a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test control group design, 21 male Wistar rats were induced with diabetes via streptozotocin and nicotinamide, then randomly assigned to three groups: G0 (control, given aquadest), G1 (porang flour 300 mg/kg BW daily), and G2 (porang flour 300 mg/kg BW every two days). Five rats died during treatment. Wilcoxon test results showed a difference in 2hPPBG levels between each group before and after treatment. There was no decrease in G0 (p = 0.893), but a decrease in G1 (p = 0.043) and G2 (p = 0.028). The difference between HOMA-IR before and after treatment did not decrease in groups G0 (p = 0.345), G1 (p = 0.138), and G2 (p = 0.249). Post hoc test for 2hPPBG levels between groups showed a significant difference between G0 and G1 (p<0.001), a significant difference between G0 and G2 (p<0.001), and no significant difference between G1 and G2 (p = 0.135). One-way ANOVA test of HOMA-IR showed no significant difference between G0, G1, and G2 (p = 0.148). It was concluded that porang flour can reduce 2hPPBG, but not HOMA-IR. There was no difference in 2hPPBG levels between administering porang flour daily and every other day.

Abstract

Nagari Salimpaung memiliki rencana untuk mengembangkan potensi wisatanya. Namun sayangnya, beberapa masalah membuat pengembangan pariwisata menjadi stagnan.
