Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap penguasan fakta, konsep, prosedur dan metakognisi pada pembelajaran problem based learning pada pelajaran biologi. Penelitian merupakan quasi eksperiment dengan populasi penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas 10 SMAN 4 Surakarta, dengan 2 kelas sebagai sampel penelitian kontrol dan perlakuan. Penentuan sampel menggunakan purposive random sampling untuk dua kelas yang mempunyai kesamaan kemampuan dengan uji F(32;0,05)=3,998. Analisis pertanyaan peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan pembelajaran problem based learning menggunakan kualifikasi pertanyaan berdasarkan Taksonomi Bloom. Data dianalisis dengan anacova. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran problem based learning mempengaruhi penguasaan pertanyaan ditinjou dari jumlah pertanyaan pada pengetahuan fakta, konsep, prosedur  namun tidak untuk metakognisi.Keywords: problem based learning, pertanyaaan, fakta, konsep, prosedur, metakognisi

Abstract

The research aims to increase the ability to find and connect concepts through implementation of instructions in hypothesis generation phase of discovery learning. This research is classroom action research that carried out for 2 cycles. Subjects are 28 students of high school students. The procedure of research consists: planning, observation, action, and reflection. Data were collected through observations, tests, documentation, and interviews. Validity of the data is performed using triangulation method. Data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and inference with the qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed the ability to find and connect a concept based on score of concept map in the pre cycle is range 2.84% - 5.41%. The average score of concept map in pre cycle is 3.46% with 12 students above average. The cycle I identified a score of concept map is range 5.8%-35.8%. The average score of concept map in the cycle I is 13.87% with 9 students above average. The cycle II identified a score of concept map is range 3.4% score-44.4%. The average score of concept map in cycle II is 18.3% with 16 students above the average, thus the ability to find and connect a concept based on range and an average score of concept map learners increased from pre cycle to cycle II, although the number of learners who is increasing is fluctuative.

Abstract

Professional development of teachers is ideally continuous implemented and is known by Continuous Proffesional Development (CPD). CPD is a renewal conscious knowledge and improving the competence of teachers throughout his working life. This study is a descriptive study that aims to depict of the kinds of professional development and the conception of the Lesson Study Learning Community (LSLC) on junior high science teacher in Surakarta. The subjects were science teachers of junior high school of Surakarta both public and private schools with a sample of 10 teachers. This survey study conducted in June 2016 using an open questionnaire instrument. Analysis of data used qualitative data analysis type of Miles and Huberman model which included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of this study concluded that the types of professional development carried out by the science teachers Surakarta includes activities Subject Teachers Council, education and training, workshops, and technical guidance. The study also revealed there has been no increase in professionalism is done by directly observing in the classroom is done in a sustainable manner. While Lesson Study is understood by science teachers with various understanding some of which has led to the understanding of LS as the collective activities of teachers. Abstract

The study investigates the performance of students in constructing Concept Maps (CM) related to environmental pollution material during the COVID-19 pandemic. The data reveals that the overall achievement in CM construction was suboptimal, with no component reaching more than half of its maximum potential. The highest achievement was recorded in the valid relationship component, which attained 9.75% of its maximum possible score. This was followed by the hierarchy component, achieving 7.34%, and the branching component at 3.42%. The pattern component ranked fourth with 1.31%, closely followed by the example component at 1.30%. The lowest performance was observed in the crosslink component, with an achievement of 0.00%. The analysis suggests that students struggled significantly with constructing comprehensive and complex CM, indicating a need for further instructional support. The low scores, particularly in critical components such as crosslinks and examples, highlight gaps in students’ ability to synthesize and analyze information, which are vital for developing more advanced CM. These findings point to the importance of enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and analytical skills to improve their learning outcomes, especially in the context of environmental pollution education during the challenges posed by the pandemic.DOI: 10.17977/jps.v12i42024p141

Abstract

Students' communication skills are very important in implementing the merdeka curriculum, especially in science subjects which are relevant to students' daily lives. Merdeka curriculum in science learning directs teachers to create contextual learning contexts to develop students' abilities in explaining ideas and understanding based on facts and logical reasoning through the question and answer method. This research explores the factors inhibiting students' communication skills in the question and answer method in science learning using the merdeka curriculum. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research in class 8D of Diponegoro Islamic Junior High School Surakarta academic year 2023/2024. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data analysis uses the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana analysis models: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that the factors inhibiting students' communication skills consist of understanding the material, self-confidence, interest, and motivation as well as content and learning context which are still conceptual. It is hoped that the results of the research can provide information and input for teachers to improve the quality of learning by improving the content and learning context so that students are interested and attracted to science learning.

Abstract

Kecelakaan di perlintasan kereta api di Indonesia masih menjadi perhatian yang signifikan, terutama karena ketidakpatuhan pengguna jalan yang mengabaikan palang keselamatan yang sudah tertutup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan sistem Palang pintu perlintasan kereta api otomatis yang dilengkapi dengan fitur pengangkatan permukaan jalan menggunakan Arduino Uno. Sistem ini mengintegrasikan sensor ultrasonik dan sensor SN04-N untuk mendeteksi kedatangan kereta dan mengaktifkan motor servo yang mengangkat permukaan jalan guna mencegah kendaraan melintas. Pengujian dilakukan pada model berskala untuk mensimulasikan kondisi dunia nyata. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sensor ultrasonik mencapai tingkat akurasi rata-rata 98% dalam mendeteksi kedatangan kereta dari jarak hingga 1,5 meter. Sensor proximity SN04-N berhasil mendeteksi baik objek magnetik maupun non-magnetik, menunjukkan kemampuan deteksi kendaraan yang andal. Mekanisme pengangkatan permukaan jalan secara efektif menciptakan penghalang fisik, meningkatkan kemampuan sistem untuk mencegah pelanggaran perlintasan. Sistem terintegrasi ini menawarkan peningkatan signifikan dalam keselamatan perlintasan kereta api, mengurangi kemungkinan terjadinya kecelakaan, dan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya mematuhi peraturan lalu lintas.

Abstract

Irigasi pertanian merupakan tantangan utama bagi petani di daerah dengan keterbatasan sumber daya air, termasuk di Desa Banyuglugur, Kabupaten Situbondo. Untuk menjawab persoalan tersebut, kegiatan pengabdian ini mengusung pelatihan pembuatan sistem pompa air berbasis energi hybrid yang menggabungkan tenaga angin dan sinar matahari. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui empat tahapan: sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis, instalasi sistem, serta evaluasi performa alat. Teknologi yang digunakan meliputi turbin angin vertikal, panel surya 100 Wp, baterai penyimpanan, dan pompa DC 12V. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa peserta berhasil memahami prinsip kerja, perakitan, serta pengoperasian sistem secara mandiri. Sistem ini mampu meningkatkan efisiensi distribusi air dan menurunkan biaya operasional hingga 40% dibandingkan pompa diesel konvensional. Meskipun variabilitas angin menjadi tantangan, kehadiran panel surya dan baterai sebagai sumber energi cadangan mampu menjaga kontinuitas operasional. Dengan hasil yang positif, penerapan teknologi hybrid ini diharapkan menjadi model replikasi bagi wilayah pedesaan lain yang menghadapi permasalahan serupa dalam sistem irigasi.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the validity, reliability, scale understanding, item difficulties, and bias items of the instrument for analyzing the needs of biology teachers regarding the assessment of creative thinking skills using the RASCH model. The instrument was modified based on the indicators of divergent and convergent thinking processes in the scientific learning stages integrated with the dimensions of creative thinking skills by using ADDIE research model. The research participants comprised of 104 participants from the Solo Raya area, those of whom were 64 Senior High School Biology teachers and 40 Junior High School Science teachers. The research instrument used inventory with a Likert scale of 1 to 4. The instrument validity, reliability, scale understanding, item difficulties, and bias items were analyzed by applying the RASCH model using Winstep 3.73. The research results showed that the overall validity was acceptable, and the item validity did not need improvement. Overall reliability was very good, and the item reliability was excellent. Rating scale analysis showed respondents had understood the Linkert scale of 1 to 4 well. Based on the item difficulties results of the teachers' responses, it was found that there had not been any teachers who evaluated the indicators of creative thinking skills by using writings or pictures in problem-solving assessment. The bias test results on the instrument items indicated that five items could potentially be biased due to age difference, and the two others were due to gender type. Therefore, the development of assessment instruments for creative thinking skills with scientific and social problem-solving based assignments, as well as writing and visual expressions, is required.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kebutuhan akan instalasi mekanikal, elektrikal, dan perpipaan (MEP) yang aman dan sesuai standar dalam bangunan rumah tinggal semakin meningkat seiring dengan kompleksitas kehidupan modern. Namun, banyak masyarakat non-teknis masih belum memahami standar teknis yang berlaku, seperti SNI 04-0225-2000, sehingga rawan terjadi kesalahan instalasi. Tujuan: Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas kegiatan sosialisasi dan edukasi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap instalasi MEP sesuai standar. Metode: Pengabdian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif melalui pemberian kuesioner pre-test dan post-test kepada 30 peserta yang mengikuti sosialisasi. Validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen diuji menggunakan SPSS, serta efektivitas edukasi diuji dengan paired sample t-test. Hasil: Terdapat peningkatan signifikan pemahaman peserta setelah edukasi (Sig. = 0,000 < 0,05), yang membuktikan keberhasilan metode sosialisasi visual dan cetak. Kesimpulan: Edukasi terstruktur mengenai instalasi MEP berbasis regulasi nasional terbukti efektif meningkatkan literasi teknis masyarakat. Temuan ini menjadi dasar pengembangan program lanjutan berbasis digital dan kolaboratif agar dampak edukasi dapat diperluas dan berkelanjutan.
