Abstract

Background: The postpartum period is a critical phase for maternal health, as mothers are vulnerable to various complications that may lead to serious morbidity or mortality if not detected early. Self-warning knowledge regarding danger signs during the postpartum period plays an essential role in enabling mothers to recognize abnormal conditions and seek timely health care. However, limited knowledge and inadequate counseling remain common challenges in postpartum services. Structured postpartum counseling is expected to improve mothers’ understanding of self-warning signs and enhance early detection of complications. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of structured postpartum counseling on self-warning knowledge among postpartum mothers at the Ome Inpatient Health Center. Methods: This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 16 postpartum mothers selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using structured questionnaires to assess mothers’ knowledge of postpartum self-warning signs before and after receiving structured counseling. The counseling intervention was delivered using standardized educational materials. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test to determine the effectiveness of structured postpartum counseling on self-warning knowledge. Results: The results showed an increase in self-warning knowledge among postpartum mothers after receiving structured counseling. Statistical analysis using the Chi-square test indicated a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), demonstrating a statistically significant effect of structured postpartum counseling on improving postpartum mothers’ self-warning knowledge. Conclusion: Structured postpartum counseling is effective in enhancing self-warning knowledge among postpartum mothers. The implementation of structured and continuous counseling during the postpartum period is recommended to support early detection of complications and improve maternal health outcomes.

Abstract

Adolescents are vulnerable to mental health disorders resulting from excessive smartphone use, which can trigger stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as affect behavior and psychological well-being. This study examined the effectiveness of a combination of murottal Al-Qur’an therapy and meditation on the mental health of adolescents with smartphone addiction using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group approach. The study was conducted at MTS Al-Ma’arif Singosari from May to July 2025. The sample consisted of two groups intervention and control each comprising 15 respondents selected purposively. The intervention was administered for four weeks, and levels of depression, anxiety, and stress were measured before and after the intervention using the DASS-21 questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test, which revealed a significant decrease in all three variables in the intervention group (p < 0.05), while the control group showed only minor changes. These findings indicate that the combination of murottal Al-Qur’an and meditation is effective in reducing mental health disorders among adolescents with smartphone addiction and can be considered a simple and beneficial non-pharmacological method to improve mental health in school settings.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is a disease caused by coronavirus syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2) that attacks the respiratory system acutely, and caused more than 106 million people to become infected with more than 2.3 million deaths worldwide. In the family planning and birth control services (KB) service there is a revisit of kb active acceptor (old acceptors) and or visits of new acceptor is an effort to get contraceptive services aimed to prevent pregnancy. The purpose of our study was to see the difference in the accuracy of KB acceptor visits before and after the COVID-19 pandemic in Midwifery clinic (PMB) Yayuk Handayani Wagir District of Malang Regency. This research was quantitative research using experimental quasi research design with a pre post design approach. The sample in the study was the same as the study population of 50 injectable birth control acceptors in BPM Yayuk Handayani Wagir Magelang Regency. Research techniques use total sampling. In this data analysis, the normality test was carried out first, then the bivariate test used the dependent sample t-test. The results of the analysis test showed that before the COVID-19 pandemic, there were 43 revisits for active acceptors who matched the return date, while during the COVID-19 pandemic, 7 people were late for return visits and 11 people did not return for revisits.  Obtained a value of p value of 0.000 which is less than 0.05 so it can be concluded there is a difference in the accuracy of visits before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. It can be concluded that there is a difference in the return visit of hormonal contraceptive acceptors in PMB Yayuk Handayani Wagir District of Malang Regency.
