Abstract

The performance of volleyball athletes is greatly influenced by the speed and accuracy of their footwork in reaching the ball, especially during footwork training. This study aims to design a physical fitness monitoring device based on the Internet of Things (IoT) called STARK (Smart Training Kit) using the Neo M9N GNSS sensor and ESP32 microcontroller. Position coordinates, time, and speed data are collected in real-time at a sampling rate of up to 25 Hz, then stored on a MicroSD card in CSV format. The data is transmitted to the cloud via a gateway application for visualization through Google Sheets and Google Maps. Testing was conducted using a comparison method of speed and distance traveled, with the Haversine Formula as the benchmark. Test results show that higher sampling frequencies yield more detailed recorded data. The device demonstrates sufficiently stable accuracy during constant movement, though small errors increase as object speed increases. Thus, this tool can serve as an alternative for monitoring sports training and support a sports science approach through measurable and structured data.

Abstract

This work presents the implementation of back-projection algorithm for Synthetic-Aperture Radar (SAR) signals on a low-cost, small, lightweight, and low-power consumption platform: Raspberry Pi. The algorithm is implemented with GNU Octave open-source software and the performance was tested on Raspberry Pi 3B and 4 hardware. For performance comparison, a single-threaded baseline implementation of back-projection is created and then modified to run on several threads on an available multicore processor. Executing a single-threaded code Raspberry PI is too slow for real-time imaging. However, the parallelized version shows computation improvement over the baseline version. We include a discussion of parallel implementation on a single Pi using Octave’s parallel package. This study contributes to the understanding of implementing SAR image processing on affordable single-board platforms with constrained computing resources.

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to develop an alternative module-based model of Google Sites as a trainer kit, enhancing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) among participants in an electrical installation vocational high school. This research is unique in that it combines interactive web-based learning tools to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills within technical education.Methodology – The Research type used in this study is R&D (Research and Development), employing methods of product testing on users both before and after implementation. The sample consists of 111 grade 11 students from three classes in a vocational high school, who are learning with a Google Sites-based module.Findings – Expert validation reveals that the media quality, content quality, and assessment parts of questionnaires achieve high scores; specifically, the assessment items score 93.37%, and the content score is 86.08%. Students' achievement, as measured by pre-test and post–test scores, presented a significant improvement, with an average N-Gain of 0.80, portraying a substantial increase in HOTS. Pre-test scores increased from 52.72 to 90.52 after the module was used.Contribution – This module development aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education), which advocates for inclusive, equitable, and quality education, as well as the promotion of lifelong learning opportunities. The module was rated as practical, easy to use, and highly effective in enhancing student learning, with a usability score of 95.83%. Overall, the Google Sites-based trainer kit module has proven to be an effective tool for improving HOTS and advancing the quality of vocational education.

Abstract

This study examines the performance comparison between the Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) and the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) in supporting UAV real-time video streaming within constrained network environments. The research aims to identify which protocol provides better transmission quality when network limitations such as restricted bandwidth, high latency, and fluctuating connectivity occur. The methodology involves capturing and analyzing Quality of Service (QoS) parameters including latency, jitter, throughput, and packet loss under simulated limited-network conditions. Wireshark and controlled bandwidth-limiting scenarios were used to measure protocol behavior during video transmission. The results indicate that UDP achieves lower latency and higher throughput due to its lightweight and connectionless nature, making it more efficient for real-time applications but more susceptible to packet loss in unstable network conditions. In contrast, RTSP, operating over TCP, provides more reliable data delivery with significantly lower packet loss but introduces higher latency and jitter, which may affect real-time responsiveness. These findings offer guidance for selecting an appropriate protocol based on UAV mission requirements and network availability, ensuring more adaptive and efficient video streaming performance in constrained environments.

Abstract

Non-hemorrhagic white matter stroke in the cerebral cortex can result in ipsilateral symptoms such as sensory and motor impairments, loss of balance, cognitive decline, and reduced mobility in both upper and lower extremities. These deficits significantly hinder the individual's ability to perform effective postural control, leading to difficulties in maintaining body position and directing movement. Consequently, patients with white matter lesions often experience functional movement limitations and exhibit uncoordinated or purposeless motor activities. This study aims to investigate the impact of physiotherapy intervention using the New Bobath Concept in a case of hemiplegia caused by non-hemorrhagic white matter stroke, focusing on improvements in postural control, body stability, gait pattern, and upper extremity functional abilities, particularly in reaching and grasping tasks. This study employed a case study design involving a four-week physiotherapy intervention based on the New Bobath Concept. Following five therapy sessions, notable improvements were observed, including enhanced body posture, improved postural control, increased weight-bearing on the left (affected) side, correction of the circumduction gait pattern, and improved upper limb functional performance in reaching and grasping tasks. Physiotherapy intervention using the New Bobath Concept demonstrated beneficial effects in enhancing postural alignment, improving postural control, facilitating weight-bearing on the affected side, correcting gait abnormalities, and increasing upper extremity function in a patient with hemiplegia due to non-hemorrhagic white matter stroke.
