Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of Knowledge Management, Corporate University, and Learning Organization on digital transformation at the Directorate General of Treasury in South Sulawesi Province. The study adopts a quantitative explanatory approach using primary data collected through structured questionnaires. The research sample consists of 81 civil servants, selected through purposive sampling based on job level, work experience, and participation in organizational learning programs. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results indicate that Knowledge Management has a negative and significant effect on digital transformation (p < 0.05), Corporate University shows no significant effect (p > 0.05), while Learning Organization has a positive and the strongest significant effect (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that digital transformation within the Directorate General of Treasury is driven more by a strong and sustainable learning organization culture than by formal corporate university systems alone, and highlight the need to reassess existing knowledge management practices in public sector organizations.

Abstract

In the current era of adapting new habits (abbreviated as Adaptasi Kebiasaan Baru or AKB), it is an opportunity for the millennial generation to get out of their ‘cage’ and do activities outside the home. This study aims to describe the perception of the millennial generation on the application of adopting new habits during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted using a survey research method with descriptive analysis techniques to obtain this description. In this research, millennials are represented by state university students in North Sulawesi Province. The sample of this study was 400 active student respondents. The data was collected through research instruments sent online with the Google Forms application. The study results indicate that millennials are worried when implementing new habit adaptations when they are active outside the home. The research results also show that the first thing they want to do is go to a house of worship. Millennials in North Sulawesi also perceive an excellent level of trust in local and central governments in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. It can be concluded that millennials in North Sulawesi are optimistic about their future sustainability.

Abstract

The sustainable competitive advantage of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in creative industry could be demonstrated through the innovation capabilities. In knowledge management literature, knowledge sharing is the key effort to develop innovation capabilities. There are two contrasting theories of Knowledge sharing, Szulanski’s theory assumes a knowledge sharing process is 'sticky' and ambiguous, while Nelson considered knowledge sharing to be an automatic process in an organization. This study arguing, employee fit will make impact on trust is a relatively new idea to bridging the two contrasting theories. Through the study, it was assuming that in order to develop the innovation capabilities of SMEs in the creative industry, knowledge sharing is needed, where trust is a crucial factor in knowledge sharing literature. However, building trust is not a simple matter, it assumed that the employee fit (person job fit and person organization fit) can be useful to build trust in the organization. This research conducted on Bali Province, Special Region Yogyakarta and North Sulawesi Province to represent Indonesia creative industry. 100 data were collected and analyzed with PLS-SEM. The results of this study can be concluded that the SMEs in creative industry innovation capabilities directly influenced by employees fit. The employee fit also significant influenced on trust, and as expected trust strongly influenced knowledge sharing. Surprisingly, knowledge sharing did not influence on innovation capabilities as expected before. The possibility reason, that knowledge sharing dimensions could not make any significant effect due of the concept of innovation funnel and absorptive capacity, which explained that, the more knowledge could achieve, the less knowledge could absorb.

Abstract

The competitiveness among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) remains an important issue for stakeholders among various sectors. Unfortunately, businesses in the tourism sector have received less attention, particularly in terms of the social capital and innovation. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the relationship between social capital and innovation and their impact on the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Indonesia’s super-priority tourism areas. Using a sample of 40 enterprises, the study reveals that dimensions of social capital, namely trust, networks, and norms, along with innovation, contribute significantly to fostering competitiveness. Furthermore, networks play a crucial role in driving innovation within micro, small, and medium enterprises in the tourism sector. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers in fostering a more sustainable business climate, particularly by emphasizing the importance of social capital and innovation in enhancing MSME competitiveness.

Abstract

Background of study: Circular economy has been widely studied in manufacturing industries, yet its application in rural agricultural communities remains underexplored. Most derivative product developments often overlook whether they meet the real needs of local communities. Aims and scope of paper: This paper aims to introduce the Mapalus Circular Economic Model, which integrates the traditional Minahasan concept of mapalus—a cooperative system based on kinship—into rural economic empowerment. The scope focuses on exploring how agricultural derivative products can be developed and consumed within rural communities to create a sustainable local economy. Methods: The study employs a literature review method, synthesizing existing research on circular economy, community-based development, and the role of mapalus in strengthening collaboration, knowledge transfer, and social cohesion. Result: : Findings highlight that the Mapalus Circular Economic Model positions rural communities as both producers and consumers of derivative agricultural products. This dual role fosters sustainable economic cycles, enhances community self-reliance, and supports environmental preservation. The integration of local traditions, knowledge resources, policies, and external collaborations is identified as essential for successful implementation. Conclusion: The Mapalus Model represents a blueprint for rural economic empowerment through circular economy practices grounded in cultural values. By revitalizing mapalus traditions, the model fosters collective action, reduces poverty, and strengthens social bonds. However, as this study is based on literature review, empirical validation through field research is required to ensure its practical applicability and effectiveness in real-world settings.
