Abstract

The Tunas Harapan Women Farmers Group, Limau Manis Village, Pauh District, Padang City is one of the farmer groups that has various problems such as drought, high amount of unused land and far access. The main crop planted during the rainy season is lowland rice, but most of the land becomes idle land during the dry season. Another problem that is often faced during the implementation of cultivation is the problem of pests and diseases which are the cause of low production yields. In terms of fertilization, farmers in this location still use artificial fertilizers (chemical fertilizers) and in terms of pest control, they still use chemical pesticides. One of the main components of the IPM program that can be used to control plant pests and diseases is the use of biological agents. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase public knowledge about pests and diseases that often attack rice plants, resulting in decreased yields and crop failure. The method used is the method of socialization, counseling and direct discussion with farmer groups about pests and diseases that often attack rice plants in the field. The results obtained from this empowerment activity are that the Tunas Harapan KWT farmer group understands various plant-disturbing organisms that attack rice plants, the community knows better how to control it properly, so that it can increase production better

Abstract

The Tunas Harapan Women Farmers Group, Limau Manis Village, Pauh District, Padang City is one of the farmer groups that has various problems such as drought, high amount of unused land and arid land. The main crop planted during the rainy season is lowland rice, but most of the land becomes idle land during the dry season. Another problem that is often faced during the implementation of cultivation is the problem of soil quality, the lack of organic matter in the soil can also be the cause of degradation which has an impact on decreasing the productivity of rice plants. In terms of fertilization, farmers in this location still use artificial fertilizers (chemical fertilizers), where the use of chemical fertilizers can also reduce the quality of agricultural food so that it is not safe for consumption. The purpose of this activity is to increase public knowledge that corncob waste and cocoa waste that are widely available in the surrounding environment can be used as compost material. The method used is the method of socialization, counseling and discussion as well as demonstrations in the form of the practice of making rhizocompost directly in the field with farmer groups and the surrounding community. The results of this activity obtained rhizocompost made from corn cobs waste and cocoa waste. The conclusion that can be drawn from this activity is the increasing understanding of the community, especially the Farmers Group (KWT Tunas Harapan) about the benefits of corncob waste and cocoa waste that can be used as the main ingredients for making compost.

Abstract

Kelapa sawit.merupakan komoditas unggulan bagi Indonesia dalam perdagangan internasional. Berbagai.upaya.dilakukan.oleh.pemerintah maupun perusahaan besar.untuk meningkatkan hasil produksi tanaman kelapa sawit,.terutama.pada.lahan-lahan yang bermasalah seperti.lahan.bekas.tambang yang mempunyai unsur hara yang rendah dan Fe yang tinggi serta keadaan tanah yang masam yang menyebakan tanah tambang ini tidak dapat digunakan oleh petani. Solid decanter merupakan,limbah,padat,dari proses .pengolahan pabrik.kelapa,sawit yang digunakan sebagai.pupuk.organik, sedangkan konsorsium Bacillus spp. adalah bakteri yang bermanfaat untuk,meningkatkan,pertumbuhan,tanaman. Penelitian,ini,bertujuan,untuk,memperoleh dosis solid decanter dan jenis konsorsium Bacillus spp. yang terbaik untuk diaplikasikan pada tanah tambang biji besi. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada Juli-November 2021 di. Nagari.Talao.Sungai.Kunyit,.Kecamatan.Sangir.Balai.Janggo,.Kabupaten.Solok Selatan dengan menggunakan Percobaan faktorial 2 faktor dengan 5 kalli ulangan dalam .Rancangan.Acak.Lengkap Faktorial.(RAL). Faktor.pertama.yaitu solid decanter yang,terdiri dari 4 taraf.yaitu : 0g/polybag,400 g/polybag,800g/polybag dan 1200g/polybag, faktor ke 2 yaitu konsorsium Bacillus spp. yang terdiri dari :tanpa konsorsium, konsorsium Bacillusthuringiensis+Bacillustoyonensis,konsorsium Bacillus toyonensis+Bacillus cereus,  dan konsorsium Bacillus thuringiensis+Bacillus cereus. Hasil penelitian menunjuukkan bahwa pemberian solid decanter 800 g/polybag dan konsorsium Bacillus thuringiensis+Bacillus cereus memberikan memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap klorofil daun, P pada daun, diameter bonggol, dan stomata tanaman sawit di pembibitan pre nursery.

Abstract

Sclerotium rolfsii merupakan patogen tular tanah yang dapat menyebabkan kehilangan hasil hingga 75% pada tanaman cabai. Alternatif pengendalian ramah lingkungan bisa menggunakan agens hayati yaitu konsorsium bakteri endofit Bacillus spp. Penelitian bertujuan mendapatkan konsorsium Bacillus spp. terbaik untuk pengendalian rebah kecambah dan busuk pangkal batang yang disebabkan S. rolfsii pada tanaman cabai. Penelitian berupa eksperimen secara in vivo menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan tujuh perlakuan dan tiga ulangan yaitu : konsorsium A (B. toyonensis AGBE2.1 TL + B. thuringiensis SLBE2.3 BB), konsorsium B (B. toyonensis AGBE2.1 TL + B. cereus SLBE1.1 BB), konsorsium C (B. thuringiensis SLBE2.3 BB + B. cereus SLBE1.1 BB), konsorsium D (B. toyonensis AGBE2.1 TL + B. cereus SLBE1.1 BB + B. thuringiensis SLBE2.3 BB), Kontrol positif (tidak diberi S. rolfsii dan Bacillus spp.), Kontrol negatif (diinokulasikan S. rolfsii dan tidak diberi Bacillus spp.) dan Kontrol pembanding (fungisida Mankozeb). Peubah yang diamati yaitu perkembangan penyakit rebah kecambah dan busuk pangkal batang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsorsium AGBE 2.1 TL+ SLBE 2.3 BB, konsorsium AGBE2.1 TL + SLBE1.1 BB dan konsorsium AGBE2.1 TL + SLBE1.1 BB + SLBE2.3 BB memiliki efektivitas 100% dalam mengendalikan penyakit rebah kecambah dan busuk pangkal batang.ABSTRACTSclerotium rolfsii is a soil-borne pathogen that can reduce yields up to 75% in chili plants. An alternative for environmentally friendly control can use biological agents, namely a consortium of endophytic bacteria Bacillus spp. The aim of the study was to obtain a consortium of Bacillus spp. best for controlling of damping off and stem rot caused by S. rolfsii in chili plants. The study was an in vivo experiment using a completely randomized design with seven treatments and three replications: consortium A (B. toyonensis AGBE2.1 TL + B. thuringiensis SLBE2.3 BB), consortium B (B. toyonensis AGBE2.1 TL + B. cereus SLBE1.1 BB), consortium C (B. thuringiensis SLBE2.3 BB + B. cereus SLBE1.1 BB), consortium D (B. toyonensis AGBE2.1 TL + B. cereus SLBE1.1 BB + B. thuringiensis SLBE2.3 BB), positive control (no S. rolfsii and Bacillus spp.), negative control (inoculated with S. rolfsii and no Bacillus spp.) and comparison control (Mankozeb fungicide). The results obtained that the consortium AGBE 2.1 TL+ SLBE 2.3 BB, the consortium AGBE2.1 TL + SLBE1 .1 BB and consortium AGBE2.1 TL + SLBE2.3 BB + B. cereus SLBE1.1 BB were 100% effective in suppressing developmental disease of damping off and stem rot caused by S. rolfsii.

Abstract

Aktinobakteria merupakan kelompok bakteri Gram postif, dominan di tanah dan memiliki peran penting dalam melindungi tanaman dari serangan patogen dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendapatkan isolat Aktinobakteria yang dapat mengendalikan penyakit hawar daun bakteri dan peningkatan pertumbuhan tanaman padi. Penelitian terdiri 3 tahap yaitu 1.) Isolasi Isolat Aktinobakteria dan Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae. Variabel yang diamati adalah ciri-ciri morfologi, uji Gram, reaksi hipersensitif, dan uji patogenisitas. 2.) Seleksi Aktinobakteria dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan bibit padi dengan 27 perlakuan 6 ulangan, 25 isolat Aktinobakteria, 1 kontrol, dan 1 bakterisida berbahan aktif streptomisin, disusun dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Variabel yang diamati adalah daya muncul lapang, tinggi bibit, jumlah daun, panjang akar, berat basah, dan berat kering. 3.) Seleksi Aktinobakteria untuk mengendalikan hawar daun bakteri pada tanaman padi dengan 21 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan, 18 isolat (hasil seleksi tahap II), 1 kontrol positif, 1 kontrol negatif, dan 1 kontrol positif, disusun dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Variabel yang diamati adalah perkembangan penyakit dan pertumbuhan tanaman. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 30 hasil isolasi. Isolat Aktinobakteria terbaik dalam menekan perkembangan penyakit hawar daun bakteri dan memacu pertumbuhan tanaman padi adalah isolat dengan kode APRD 3I211, APRD 1I122, APRP 2S121, APRP 1I121, APRP 3I212 dengan Efektivitas 43.45%-50.69%.

Abstract

The bacterial species Xanthomonas axonopodis pv allii (Xaa) is an important pathogen causing leaf blight in shallots. The use of botanical pesticides with nanoemulsion formulations has become a common alternative. This study aims to determine the characteristics and optimum concentration of the mixture of essential oil of Piper aduncum and fragrant Cymbopogon nardus waste. Nanoemulsion formulations are made using spontaneous emulsification methods. Besides, testing Bacillus thuringiensis strain MRSNR3.1 and its secondary metabolites toxicity against Xaa was carried out by the diffusion method using paper discs to determine the diameter of the inhibition zone. The results demonstrate that all four concentrations, 1%, 2.5%, 5%, and 7.5%, could control Xaa bacteria. A concentration of 1% is considered more optimal than the other three   concentrations in bactericidal effects against Xaa, as manifested in the formed clear zone (diameter of 3.17 cm). Besides, Bacillus thuringiensis strain MRSNR3.1 and its secondary metabolites were also effective againstXaa after four days of incubation with inhibition zones of 3.04 ± 0.44and 2.21 ± 0.28, respectively. Hence, it is concluded that nanoemulsion at 1% concentration and Bacillus thuringiensis strain MRSNR3.1 have  bactericidal properties that can be used to control Xaa

Abstract

Bakteri Pemacu Pertumbuhan Tanaman (PGPB) merupakan bakteri menguntungkan yang dapat meningkatkan tingkat atau kualitas pertumbuhan tanaman melalui berbagai mekanisme. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapatkan isolat PGPB terbaik untuk pengendalian Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. alii dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan serta hasil pada beberapa variestas tanaman bawang merah. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 10 perlakuan galur PGPB dan 3 kontrol yang terdiri dari 3 ulangan. Isolat PGPB tersebut yaitu MRSNRZ3.1, MRSNUMBE2.2, MRBPBT2.1, MRBTLL3.2, MRTDUMMBE3.2.1, MRDKBTE1.3, MRPLUMBE1.3, MRBPUMBE1.3, MRTLDRZ2.2, MRSPRZ1.1. dan varietas yang digunakan adalah Sinkia Medan, Sinkia Gajah, Brebes, Keling, SS Sakato, dan Maja Cipanas. Peubah yang diamati yaitu perkembangan penyakit, pertumbuhan tanaman dan hasil bawang merah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 7 dari 10 isolat PGPB mampu menekan serangan Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. alii dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan serta hasil pada beberapa varietas tanaman bawang merah. Isolat tersebut diantaranya MRSNRZ3.1, MRTLDRZ2.2, MRSPRZ1.1, MRSNUMBE2.2, MRBPBT2.1, MRBTLL3.2, dan MRDKBTE1.3.

Abstract

Our previous research had screened 9 best indigenous endophytic isolates for their ability to control Ralstonia syzigii subsp. indonesiensis, the causal agents of bacterial wilt disease in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) in green house condition. Those 9 strains were Bacillus cereus EPL1.1.3, B. cereus TLE2.3, B. toyonensis EPL1.1.4, Serratia nematodiphila TLE1.1, B. anthracis SNE2.2, B. cereus E1.AB1.2, B. cereus E1AB2.1, Enterobacter cloacae subsp. dissolvens TLE2.2 and S. marcescens KLE3.3. The purposed of this study is to test the ability of the endophytic bacteria strains in increasing defense related enzyme activities of tomato. Bacterial strains were tested for its ability to induce the defense-related enzymes which were phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL), peroxidase (PO) and polyphenol oxidase (PPO) in roots and leaves of tomato plants. R. syzigii subsp. indonesiensis inoculated to host plants 7 days after the endophyte bacteria strains inoculation. Enzyme activities were recorded at 0, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12 and 15 days after pathogen inoculation (dpi).  It was observed that PAL, PO and PPO activities were significantly increased in all of the endophytic bacteria inoculated treatments compared to control plant. Activities of PAL in the leaves was fast similar to the roots; but PO activities was higher in the roots compared to that in the leaves, whereas PPO activities was higher in the leaves than in the roots. PAL and PO reached the maximum level at different time in the leaves (3 dpi and 15 dpi), in the roots (5 dpi and 12 dpi), whereas PPO in the leaves at 12 dpi and in the roots at 9 dpi.

Abstract

Bemisia tabaci is a major pest in chili as it can act as a vector for transmitting the yellow curl virus. Endophytic bacteria have been reported to trigger plant defense against whiteflies. This study aimed to obtain a solid formula for the endophytic bacteria B. pseudomycoides strain SLBE1.1SN and a storage duration that effectively controls whitefly. This experimental study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 26 treatments and repeated three times. The treatments combined different types of endophytic bacterial carrier formulas and storage duration, synthetic insecticide treatment (Imidacloprid), and control. The treatments were applied to chili seeds and seedlings. The results showed that not all stored endophytic bacterial formulation could suppress the whitefly population on chili plants. The formula B. pseudomycoides strain SLBE1.1SN with rice straw as carrier material at six weeks storage was the best formula for controlling whitefly. This suggests that the formulation of stored endophytic bacteria not only reduced the number of eggs laid, but also suppressed the development of nymphs and imago.

Abstract

The innovation farmer group Jorong Belubus, Nagari Sungai Talang is one of the villages in Guguak District, Limapuluh Kota Regency which has the potential to produce vegetable pesticides. This is supported by the many types of weeds such as Piper aduncum, babandotan and Surian plants that can be used as basic ingredients for making botanical pesticides. For the people of Nagari Sungai Talang, agricultural waste such as weeds are only considered as parasites for other crops. Communities and farmers in this area do not know how to process the waste of weeds and Surian leaves into quality products that can be used as biological agents for pest control. The purpose of this farmer group empowerment activity is to provide knowledge about weeds and forage plants that can be used as botanical pesticides and provide knowledge related to the process of making these botanical pesticides so that they can be used as pest control agents. The method used is structured training and direct practice of making botanical pesticides in the field. The results obtained from this empowerment activity are that farmer groups are able to make botanical pesticides independently by utilizing weeds and other forage plants in the surrounding environment as agents of pest and disease control in cultivated plants.
