Abstract

This article examines the integration of local wisdom values in Islamic education at Pesantren Tebuireng as an effort to build social harmony, using Pierre Bourdieu's Theory of Cultural Socialization as an analytical framework. Bourdieu emphasizes that educational institutions, such as pesantren, play a crucial role in the reproduction and preservation of culture through habitus, which refers to patterns of thinking, acting, and feeling shaped by the social environment. This study explores how Pesantren Tebuireng implements local values such as tolerance, mutual cooperation, and respect for cultural diversity in its educational process, and how these values are reproduced and preserved in the daily lives of the students. The philosophy of education at Pesantren Tebuireng, influenced by the thoughts of Hadratussyaikh KH Hasyim Asy'ari, plays a key role in shaping the habitus of students, enabling them to accommodate differences, maintain interfaith harmony, and contribute to social harmony. The results of this study show that education based on local wisdom at Pesantren Tebuireng not only strengthens the cultural and religious identity of the students but also contributes to creating a more tolerant and harmonious society amidst diversity.Keywords: Local wisdom, Pesantren Tebuireng, habitus, Pierre Bourdieu, social harmony, tolerance, Islamic education.

Abstract

The reform or modernization movement has gradually led the Muslim community to depart from the pure teachings of the religion of Islam, such as the knowledge of Sufism. Classical Islamic teachings are perceived as outdated and antiquated. However, by abandoning the pure teachings of Islam, the Muslim community will only become more left behind and lose touch with their own identity. Hadratus Syaikh KH. Muhammad Hasyim Asy'ari was one of the scholars who opposed this modernization movement through the Sufi education he taught. Hadratus Syaikh wrote the basic concepts of Sufi knowledge in his books, such as Adāb al-'Ālim wa al-Muta'alim, Haẓihi ar-Risālah Jāmi'at al-Maqāṣid, Risālah ad-Durar al-Muntaṡiroh fī al-Masāil at-Tis'a 'Asyrah, Tamyīz al-Ḥaq min al-Bāṭil, and Risālah fī at-Taṣawuf. This research is a literature study that examines five books written by Hadratus Syaikh KH. Muhammad Hasyim Asy'ari. The research findings reveal that the Sufi education of Hadratus Syaikh KH. Muhammad Hasyim Asy'ari represents Sunni or Ethical Sufism, which utilizes the teachings of Tazkiyatun Nafs (purification of the soul) and Tarbiyah Ruhaniyah (spiritual education). The result is a balance between the spiritual and the ritual aspects. This concept of Sufi education needs to be taught in every educational institution to shape the character of students, as it is highly relevant to the current era of character education. Abstract

This article discusses the learning revolution through Hanifida's actions in increasing students' self-confidence using qualitative descriptive methods with case study types. This research uses data reduction analysis and data collection using observation, interviews and documentation techniques in the field directly and checked using triangulation techniques. The results of research conducted by researchers show that: 1) The action program has been proven to increase students' self-confidence in learning. Before the students got to know this program, their learning system was still a mess. However, when the students are guided to use this program of action, the students become less lazy in studying, become fond of reading and make the students enjoy learning independently. There are 9 stages in this process, namely definitely reading, definitely understanding, definitely concluding, definitely exploring meaning, definitely summarizing, definitely drawing, definitely presenting, definitely documenting, and definitely uploading. 2). Supporting factors for the learning revolution through Hanifida's actions in increasing students' self-confidence are support from caregivers, support from parents, a supportive environment, involvement of administrators, availability of tools, materials and media, as well as predetermined regulations. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are accurate reading sources, monitoring control when reading, paying attention to the quality of the presentation, and students who do not yet know the true nature of the action learning model.

Abstract

Sexual education is an important aspect in efforts to prevent sexual violence inhigher education. However, the understanding of sexual education is often limited and notintegrated with Islamic values. This research aims to assist PPKS Task Force students inunderstanding sexual education through an approach based on the book Tarbiyatul Aulad byAbdullah Nasih Ulwan. This approach emphasizes Islamic values that are moderate, balanced,and relevant to the current context. This mentoring activity uses a participatory approachwhich includes the preparation stage, introduction stage, deepening stage, implementationstage and reflection evaluation stage. The results of the activity show that the Task Forcestudents' understanding of sexual violence and sexual education has increased. increasedunderstanding of the concept of Islamic-based sexual education and understanding of the issueof sexual violence. The integration of Islamic values in sexual education through the Book ofTarbiyatul Uulad has a positive impact on strengthening the capacity of PPKS Task Forcestudents in Higher Education.

Abstract

Interaksi sosial siswa di lingkungan sekolah yang majemuk memerlukan penguatan nilai-nilai toleransi agar tercipta hubungan yang harmonis dan inklusif. Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) memiliki peran strategis dalam menanamkan nilai toleransi sebagai bagian dari karakter keagamaan dan sosial peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali peran nilai-nilai toleransi dalam meningkatkan kualitas interaksi sosial siswa melalui pembelajaran PAI di SMA Darul Ulum Tapen Jombang. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, melalui teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari siswa, guru PAI, dan kepala sekolah. Data dianalisis secara induktif untuk memahami dinamika penerapan toleransi dalam kehidupan sosial siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa mampu berinteraksi secara terbuka dan harmonis melalui berbagai aktivitas seperti diskusi kelompok dan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, meskipun terdapat hambatan seperti rasa canggung dan kecemasan sosial. Sekolah telah merespons tantangan ini dengan program konseling dan pelatihan keterampilan sosial. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan nilai-nilai toleransi dalam pembelajaran PAI berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan kualitas interaksi sosial siswa dan memperkuat semangat persatuan di lingkungan sekolah

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pembelajaran nahwu dan shorof melalui Metode 33 dalam meningkatkan kemampuan santri pondok pesantren Al-Hasyim dalam membaca kitab kuning. Kitab kuning sebagai literatur klasik berbahasa Arab tanpa harakat menuntut penguasaan tata bahasa Arab yang kuat, khususnya dalam aspek nahwu dan shorof. Metode 33 merupakan pendekatan sistematis yang menekankan pada penguasaan 33 kaidah pokok yang mencakup struktur kalimat (Nahwu) dan perubahan bentuk kata (Shorof). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Metode 33 mampu mempermudah proses pembelajaran, membantu santri memahami kaidah bahasa Arab secara praktis, serta mengaplikasikannya dalam membaca teks-teks keagamaan. Dengan pendekatan ini, santri tidak hanya memahami teori, tetapi juga mampu membaca kitab kuning secara mandiri dan tepat. Implementasi Metode ini terbukti efektif dan relevan untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab di lingkungan pesantren, khususnya bagi pemula. Temuan ini diharapkan menjadi referensi bagi pengembangan model pembelajaran kitab kuning di pesantren-pesantren lain.

Abstract

Morals are traits that are inherent in the soul and trigger spontaneous actions, where ImamlAl-Ghazalijinjthejbook Ihya' 'Ulumiddin emphasizes thejimportancejof accustoming children to good morals from an early age, remembering that a child's heart is like a blank piece of paper that can easily absorb everything, so this habituation is a must for parents as full responsibility for God's mandate to care for, raise and educate children with love. This research, which uses a documentation approach with primary data from Al-Ghazali's writings and secondary data from relevant sources, Focusesjonjtwojmainjquestions: what is the concept of good and bad parenting patternsjaccordingjtojImamjAl-GhazalijinjIhya' 'Ulumiddin.The research results show that good parenting according to Al-Ghazali includes cultivating manners, developing noble character, prioritizing religious education, monitoring the social environment, providing role models, teaching balance injthejworldjandjthejherejafter,jasjwelljas education with love and wisdom. On the other hand, bad parenting is characterized by tolerating bad habits, neglect, allowing children to mix with negative environments, excessive criticism, not teaching manners, worldly indulgence, not providing religious education, allowing children to take other people's rights, and not maintaining good manners in speaking.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role and influence of caregivers in shaping Muslim intellectuals who follow Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah at the Attahdzib Islamic Boarding School. The main focus of this study is to understand the role of Father Kyai Ahmad Masruh as a caregiver of the Islamic boarding school in guiding students to develop an understanding of religion in accordance with the teachings of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah, and how he becomes a role model who provides examples in everyday life. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation conducted at the Attahdzib Islamic Boarding School. There are two focuses in this study, namely: (1) What is the role of caregivers in teaching the aqidah of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah at the Attahdzib Islamic Boarding School? and (2) What is the role and influence of caregivers in shaping Muslim intellectuals who follow Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah at the Attahdzib Islamic Boarding School? The results of the study indicate that Father Kyai Ahmad Masruh has a very important role in forming quality Muslim intellectuals, by teaching and exemplifying the teachings of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah both in words and deeds. In addition, the material taught through the yellow book in this Islamic boarding school is also in line with the teachings of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah, thus forming students who are not only intelligent in religious knowledge but also have noble morals. This study is expected to contribute to the development of Islamic boarding school education and enrich studies on the role of caregivers in forming the character of Muslim intellectuals based on the teachings of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah.

Abstract

Learning the yellow book as a legacy of classical Islamic knowledge is still an important tradition in the world of Islamic boarding schools. In the midst of the development of the era and the challenges of understanding classical Arabic, Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School applies the Takhassus method as a special approach to deepen the ability of students to understand the texts of the yellow book. This study specifically focuses on 1. How is the Takhassus program in learning the yellow book at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School? 2. How is the Analysis of the Implementation of the Takhassus Method in Learning the Yellow Book? 3. What are the Inhibiting and Supporting Factors of the Takhassus Method in Learning the Yellow Book? The method used is qualitative research with a field study type. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation of ongoing learning activities. The main informants consisted of teachers and students who were directly involved in the Takhassus program. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the Takhassus program involved a participant selection process, intensive learning scheduling, and a grammar-based learning approach (nahwu and sharaf) and translation. This program was able to improve students' ability to read and understand the book in depth. However, there were several obstacles such as time constraints, variations in students' initial abilities, and the need to improve the quality of teaching staff. In conclusion, the Takhassus program is an effective strategy in improving the quality of yellow book learning in Islamic boarding schools, as long as it is supported by good teaching management and a sustainable program.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the integration of the thoughts of Hadratussyaikh KH. Muhammad Hasyim Asy’ari into the curriculum of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Study Program at Hasyim Asy’ari University, Tebuireng. Using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis, the research highlights the actualisation of pesantren values inherited from KH. Hasyim Asy’ari within the context of contemporary Islamic higher education. The main focus is on three core pillars: religious moderation, character development, and the preservation of pesantren traditions, which form the foundation of a sustainable Islamic education vision. The findings indicate that Hadratussyaikh’s ideas—such as the importance of manners (adab), sincerity, accessible scholarship, and a moderate religious spirit—have been integrated into both the curriculum and learning practices. These values not only shape a religious and inclusive academic atmosphere but also strengthen students' identities as agents of change rooted in traditional Islamic scholarship. This integration is reflected in course content and teaching methods, as well as students' religious and social activities, all directed toward forming academically excellent individuals with strong morals and adaptability to contemporary challenges. Thus, this study affirms that KH. Hasyim Asy’ari’s ideas are both relevant and strategic in formulating a model of Islamic religious education that bridges tradition and modernity. The results are expected to serve as a reference for the development of contextual and transformative pesantren-based curricula
