Abstract

Project-based TEFA at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Kepanjen was running and industry-synchronous, yet cross-subject integration (general ↔ vocational) had not been implemented and evaluation documents were inconsistent (~10% incomplete). This development study produced a Teaching Factory (TEFA) learning guidebook that integrates general and vocational subjects in the Motorcycle Engineering concentration using ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). Participants in a limited implementation comprised 4 expertise teachers, 3 general-subject teachers, 4 vocational-subject teachers, 10 Grade-XI students, 2 industry representatives, the principal, and the vice principal for curriculum (N=25). Instruments included design/material expert checklists and stakeholder feasibility/usability questionnaires (Likert 1–5) plus observation, interview, and documentation guides. Scale anchors, item counts, and example items are specified in Methods; internal consistency (Cronbach’s α/ω) and inter-rater agreement for expert validations are reported in Results. Feasibility was high (expert means ≈4.6/5) and stakeholder ratings averaged 88–94% across ease of use, relevance, completeness/integration, clarity, and practical applicability. Key improvements include integrated performance assessment (multi-rater, role-inclusive), richer cross-subject cases, and documentation consistency. Findings are feasibility-oriented and do not claim effectiveness; future work should test outcomes and employability impacts via quasi-experimental designs.

Abstract

Elementary schools in disaster-prone regions play a crucial role in instilling disaster awareness and preparedness skills at an early age. This study aimed to develop the Guru Siaga Guidebook as an innovation to support the Satuan Pendidikan Aman Bencana (SPAB) program in Ngantang District, Malang Regency. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), integrated with qualitative insights from interviews, observations, and user feedback, data were collected through surveys, interviews, observations, and expert validation. The analysis revealed that most schools lacked structured disaster preparedness procedures, contextual learning materials, and routine simulations. Teachers and students expressed the need for a practical, engaging, and context-specific guidebook. The developed product included modules on disaster introduction, mitigation, evacuation, and first aid, complemented by visuals and interactive activities. Validation by material and media experts rated the guidebook as feasible and relevant (Material S-CVI/Ave = 0.89; Media S-CVI/Ave = 0.86). Field trials involving nine teachers and 90 students showed increased teacher preparedness scores (from 62.3 ± 8.4 to 74.9 ± 7.2; Cohen’s d = 0.64) and improved student accuracy in evacuation steps (from 68% to 83%). Findings provide preliminary evidence that the guidebook supports disaster education and enhances preparedness indicators, aligning with national and international frameworks for safe schools. The guidebook introduces three distinctive features: localized hazard case studies, project-based evacuation drills with assessment rubrics, and child-friendly SOP flowcharts.

Abstract

The implementation of character values through the Pancasila Student Profile is a complex task, facing various obstacles, particularly due to the rapid and often uncontrolled technological developments in the era of Society 5.0. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing thematic analysis to identify key patterns in student character development, along with source triangulation to ensure the validity of findings. Based on this research, strengthening students' character through the integration of local wisdom in P5 activities at SMA Muhammadiyah Boleng, specifically through the Tiba Meka dance, has proven to be effective. Observations and interviews indicate a 30% increase in students’ cultural awareness, demonstrating that learning the Tiba Meka dance not only helps students recognize and preserve their cultural heritage but also cultivates discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and cultural pride. Furthermore, the active involvement of teachers and strong parental support significantly contribute to the success of this program. The findings highlight that the P5 initiative, through traditional dance, fosters character formation rooted in local identity and strengthens students' connection to their cultural heritage. This study suggests that integrating local wisdom into education, particularly through performing arts, is a practical and effective strategy for shaping students with strong personal and cultural values, offering valuable insights for the broader Indonesian educational system.

Abstract

Well-being pedagogy has attracted the attention of researchers in various disciplines. Although well-being pedagogy has been widely discussed in education, a clearer understanding of how it is integrated into English language teaching (ELT) is still needed. This systematic literature review seeks to explore current trends, key thematic areas, and notable gaps in the literature, intending to offer insights into strategies for effectively incorporating well-being into ELT. This research uses Scopus as the main data source for the initial data search through the database to the selection of studies for synthesis according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The findings reveal several important trends. First, research on well-being in ELT has gradually increased over time, with a noticeable rise after 2020. Second, most studies are located within the social sciences, indicating that well-being is mainly examined from educational and social perspectives. Third, a large proportion of publications originates from developed countries. The research indicates that existing studies mainly focus on supportive learning environments, teacher support, and the integration of innovative pedagogical approaches to enhance learning experiences. The study implies that it should provide practical approaches for integrating well-being pedagogy into ELT classrooms.

Abstract

This research analyzes the utilization of the Education Report in mapping and improving school quality using the Deming Cycle approach at Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Mojokerto Regency. The study is motivated by the necessity for schools to adopt a data-based quality management system that supports planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement. This study employs a qualitative approach with a multisite research design. The research subjects consist of the school principals, deputy principals in charge of curriculum, student affairs, facilities and infrastructure, public relations and industry relations, as well as administrative coordinators at State Vocational High School 1 Punging, State Vocational High School 1 Trowulan, and State Vocational High School NU Ma'arif Jatirejo. Data collection involved in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation studies of planning and school quality reports. Data analysis followed the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, applying source triangulation to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that the Education Report serves as a foundation for developing school program planning, implementing quality improvement activities, evaluating school performance, and preparing for continuous follow-up improvements. The application of the Deming Cycle encourages schools to make data-based decisions and strengthen their internal quality management systems. Supporting factors for implementation include the commitment of school leadership, active involvement of the management team, and the availability of integrated quality data. Inhibiting factors include limited facilities and infrastructure for practice, differences in human resource competencies, and suboptimal utilization of quality data across all work units. This study concludes that integrating the Education Report with the Deming Cycle approach is effective in supporting systematic and continuous mapping and improvement of SMK quality.
