Abstract

This research uses a quantitative experimental approach and uses a type of pre-experimental research with a one group pre-test and post-test design. The aims of this research are (1) to determine the speaking skills of grade 4 students at SDN Karangbesuki 3 Malang before and after being given treatment, and (2) to determine whether or not there is an effect of using the paired storytelling learning model on the speaking skills of grade 4 students in SDN Karangbesuki 3 Malang. The independent variable in this research is the paired storytelling learning model while the dependent variable is the speaking skills of class 4 students at SDN Karangbesuki 3 Malang, totaling 30 students. In this research, to determine the sample using Nonprobability Sampling with a type of sampling technique, namely Saturation Sampling. Data was collected from the pre-test, treatment and post-test divisions then analyzed descriptively and inferential statistical analysis using parametric statistical tests, namely the independent sample t-test using JASP software. The results of this research show that: the implementation of the learning process using the paired storytelling learning model on students' speaking skills is in the effective category, the students' speaking skills before and after implementing the paired storytelling learning model have increased, after carrying out hypothesis testing and analysis, the results obtained are: significant influence of the application of the paired storytelling learning model on students' speaking skills. The conclusion in this research is that the paired storytelling learning model influences the speaking skills of grade 4 students at SDN Karangbesuki 3 Malang. Abstract

Researchers conducted research using observation techniques and interviews with grade 1 teachers of SDN Mandaranrejo 1 Pasuruan City, found 15 students whose reading skills were still classified as low. Flashcard media assisted by the SAS method was made with the aim of improving reading skills at an early stage aimed at low grades. Researchers developed learning media for early reading learning activities in the form of cards that include examples of words and sentences based on the SAS method along with images that can be interesting. This research and development aims to develop a product in the form of Flashcard media for beginning reading that is valid according to experts, namely material experts, media experts, and users, namely teachers and students. This research uses the R&D (Research and Development) research method of the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages. This research and development obtained validation results by material experts of 97% and validation by media experts of 100%. While the results of user validation by teachers obtained 100% and by students at 98% so that Flashcard media assisted by the SAS method was included in the criteria very valid and interesting according to material experts, media experts, and users. Therefore, Flashcard media can be used for learning beginning reading. Keywords: Flashcards; SAS Method; Beginning Reading

Abstract

Scientific writing is a challenge for students because the writing is bound by various scientific conventions in terms of content and grammar in each part. Following up on this condition, in this study, a self-writing assessment instrument was developed for guidance on writing research papers students. This study uses the ADDIE model with five stages of steps considering the practicality of the steps for developing learning products. During product development, data on content validity, interrater reliability, and user tests were collected for product application. The results were analyzed descriptively, quantitatively, statistically, and qualitatively, describing each product's feasibility qualifications obtained by collecting questionnaires, field notes, and documentation techniques. At the end of the study, it was found that the self-writing assessment instrument was successfully developed and could be used in guiding the writing of research papers, especially in the presentation of content and grammar. Furthermore, self-writing assessment instruments can be applied to maximize the writing process at the post-revising and editing stage.

Abstract

The ability to read comprehension is very important where the more skillful a person is inunderstanding a reading, the easier it is for him to receive the information contained and the meaningin a reading. The reality of reading comprehension problems in Indonesia shows that the reading skills of elementary school students are low. As a form of improving the quality of students in readingcomprehension, it is necessary to have special treatment to further hone students' skills. Efforts thatcan be made include providing the right learning model. One of the learning models that is consideredto improve students' reading comprehension skills is the SQ4R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite,Review, Reflect) learning model. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using the SQ4Rlearning model in improving students' reading comprehension skills. The type of research used ispre-experiment using one-group pretest posttest design. The results showed that the use of the SQ4Rlearning model was considered effective in improving reading comprehension skills by obtaining asignificance of 0.001
