Abstract

Abstract This classroom action research aimed to improve the English speaking skills of eleventh-grade students through the implementation of the debate method. The study was conducted at SMAN 1 Waringinkurung during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year and involved 40 students as research participants. The research was motivated by students’ low speaking performance, limited confidence, and minimal opportunities to actively participate in oral communication during English lessons. The study was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through speaking tests, observation sheets, and documentation. The findings revealed a significant improvement in both students’ speaking skills and classroom participation. Students’ activeness increased from 60% in Cycle I to 85% in Cycle II, while the percentage of students achieving the Minimum Mastery Criterion improved from 57.5% to 82.5%. The results indicate that the debate method effectively enhances students’ confidence, fluency, and ability to express ideas orally. Therefore, the debate method can be considered an effective and communicative instructional strategy for improving English speaking skills at the senior high school level. Abstract

Cultural heritage tourism plays a strategic role in strengthening local identity while enhancing destination attractiveness through authentic tourist experiences. This study aims to analyze the effects of commercialization, object-based authenticity, existential authenticity, and convenience on tourist satisfaction and loyalty in cultural heritage destinations across Banten Province. A quantitative research approach was employed using primary data collected from 1,540 tourist respondents through structured questionnaires. The questionnaire served as the research instrument, and the data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) technique with the SmartPLS application.  The results show that commercialization positively affects object authenticity (O = 0.062; p = 0.007), although the effect size is small. Object authenticity has a strong effect on existential authenticity (O = 0.825; p = 0.000). Furthermore, existential authenticity significantly influences tourist satisfaction (O = 0.688; p = 0.000) and loyalty (O = 0.790; p = 0.000). In contrast, commercialization has a negative effect on satisfaction (O = -0.045; p = 0.023) and loyalty (O = -0.051; p = 0.004). Additionally, ease strengthens the relationship between commercialization and object authenticity (O = 0.092; p = 0.000). Overall, all hypotheses are supported (p < 0.05), indicating that the model is statistically robust in explaining tourist satisfaction and loyalty. The study provides both theoretical and practical contributions for destination managers in designing sustainable cultural heritage tourism strategies that are not solely profit-oriented but also focused on preserving cultural values and enhancing the overall quality of tourist experiences.

Abstract

Digital technology has increasingly become an important component of English language learning in elementary schools. This qualitative study explores elementary students’ motivation in learning English vocabulary through Wordwall at SD Daan Mogot 1 Tangerang City, involving 27 third-grade students selected through purposive sampling. The study focuses on students’ experiences, engagement, responses, and perceptions during Wordwall-based vocabulary learning. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with selected students and the English teacher, and documentation. The data were analyzed thematically through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Wordwall created a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment that encouraged students to participate actively, respond to questions, and practice vocabulary repeatedly. The findings also suggest that Wordwall supported students’ enjoyment, attention, participation, confidence, and learning interest. The study concludes that Wordwall can serve as a supportive digital medium for fostering elementary students’ motivation in English vocabulary learning when integrated with appropriate teacher guidance and pedagogical strategies.

Abstract

In response to the growing demand for technology-enhanced and culturally responsive pedagogy, local folklore-based digital storytelling has emerged as a promising instructional approach that integrates multimedia learning with culturally meaningful narrative content to foster language development. This study examined the effect of digital storytelling based on Banten local folklore on senior high school students’ narrative writing performance in an Indonesian EFL context. Employing a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group, the study involved 75 tenth-grade students at a public senior high school in Banten, Indonesia. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test writing assessments and analysed using descriptive statistics and an independent samples t-test. The findings indicated that the t-value (2.104) was higher than the critical t-value (1.672) at the 0.05 significance level, confirming that local folklore-based digital storytelling had a significant positive effect on senior high school students’ narrative writing performance. The integration of familiar cultural narratives and multimedia resources appeared to enhance students’ engagement, creativity, and confidence in writing. This study contributes empirical evidence to technology-enhanced and culturally responsive language learning research, particularly within Indonesian secondary education, and offers practical implications for English teachers seeking innovative writing instruction strategies that also support local cultural preservation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of auditor competence and time budget pressure on the quality of MSME financial reports in facing digitalization. This study employed a quantitative approach using primary data collected through questionnaires from 90 respondents. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The results show that auditor competence has a positive and significant effect on the quality of MSME financial reports, as indicated by a regression coefficient of 0.435, a t-value of 4.156, and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Furthermore, time budget pressure has a positive and significant effect on the quality of MSME financial reports, with a regression coefficient of 0.584, a t-value of 4.534, and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Simultaneously, auditor competence and time budget pressure have a significant effect on the quality of MSME financial reports, as indicated by an F-value of 16.042 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The Adjusted R-square of 0.239 indicates that auditor competence and time budget pressure jointly explain 23.9% of the variation in the quality of MSME financial reports, while the remaining 76.1% is explained by other factors outside the research model. These findings indicate that improving auditor competence and managing time budget pressure appropriately can contribute to improving the quality of MSME financial reports, particularly in responding to the demands of digitalization.

Abstract

This study investigates the comparative impacts of Montessori and traditional education approaches on cognitive development, academic achievement, and social-emotional skills among primary school students. Employing a mixed-methods design, the research involved 500 students aged 6 to 12 years from both educational settings. Quantitative data were collected through standardized assessments, while qualitative insights were gathered via interviews with teachers, parents, and students. The results revealed that Montessori students demonstrated significantly higher cognitive development, particularly in processing speed, working memory, and perceptual reasoning. Additionally, Montessori students outperformed their peers in traditional schools in mathematics and language arts, though no significant difference was found in science achievement. Social-emotional skills, including social competence and behavioral self-control, were also more developed in Montessori students. Qualitative findings highlighted the perceived benefits of the Montessori approach in fostering independence, creativity, and intrinsic motivation, while traditional education was noted for its structured curriculum and academic rigor. The study suggests that a hybrid educational model integrating elements of both Montessori and traditional methods could optimize educational outcomes, promoting both academic excellence and holistic development.
