Abstract

Stress identification based on electroencephalogram (EEG) signals has become a rapidly growing research topic, with the main approaches utilizing features from the frequency domain and time-frequency domain. This research aims to combine principal component analysis (PCA) and independent component analysis (ICA) for feature extraction to improve the accuracy of stress identification. Additionally, PCA+ICA features are reduced from 64 to 32 columns to optimize computational efficiency without losing important information from the EEG signal. The stress identification models used in this research include Ensemble, naive Bayes, and support vector machine (SVM). The data used are from the SAM-40 task Stroop color trials 1, 2, and 3. Experimental results indicate that the combination of PCA+ICA features improves accuracy only in the ensemble method. Reducing PCA+ICA features from 64 to 32 columns led to an improvement in accuracy only for Stroop trial 2 data with the naive Bayes method.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence is now an integral part of learning activities, especially for the younger generation. This includes digital image processing and video production. These activities are driven by the importance of mastering digital technology as one of the key competencies in facing the era of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0, particularly for vocational high school students who are being prepared for careers in the digital creative field. The implementation methods include interactive training, hands-on practice with AI-based software, and guidance in digital content creation projects. Students are introduced to various AI applications and tools for automatic image editing, background removal, resolution enhancement, and the creation of text- and synthetic voice-based videos. The results of these activities demonstrate an improvement in students' understanding and skills in utilizing AI technology to support their creative processes. The digital products created through the training also demonstrate improved visual quality and efficiency in the production process. This activity is expected to serve as a model for integrating AI technology into vocational curricula and to foster the emergence of a creative generation adaptable to technological advancements.

Abstract

With the rapid growth of research on the topic of cultural intelligence in educational studies, it becomes increasingly important to understand the trends, patterns of scholarly collaboration, and direction of this research development. This study explores the development of research on the topic based on Scopus-indexed scientific publications, using a bibliometric approach. Data were obtained from 227 relevant articles based on the keywords “cultural intelligence” and “education” from 2015 to 2025. The analysis was conducted using VOSviewer and Biblioshiny to answer research questions. RQ1: Who are the authors who contribute the most to the publication of research and works on cultural intelligence in education studies? RQ2: What are the main keywords in cultural intelligence in education studies? RQ3: What are the potential topics for future studies in the field of research related to cultural intelligence in educational studies? Based on these research questions, it was found that Jacqueline E. McLaugh is the most prolific author. In addition, four main clusters of research were found, namely the Education and Students Cluster, the Cultural and Psychological Competence Cluster, the Learning and Cognition Cluster, and the Globalization, Leadership, and Cultural Diversity Cluster. Potential research on the topic of cultural intelligence in educational studies focuses on how cultural intelligence can increase international employment and how students can develop better skills in multicultural experiential learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of grit of students in Indonesia and its technicality with their academic success. Grit, which consists of persistence and passion towards long-term goals, is an important factor in academic success. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, this study involved 461 students from various universities in Indonesia. Data were collected using the Grit-O Scale which measures two dimensions of grit, namely consistency and consistency of interest. The results of the analysis using the Rasch Model showed that most students had a moderate level of grit, with some students showing high or low levels. These findings illustrate the challenges faced by students in maintaining academic motivation and persistence. This study is expected to provide useful insights for the development of educational programs that support the improvement of students' grit, with the aim of improving their academic achievement and readiness to face global challenges in the future.
