Abstract

Indonesia, as a tropical country, exhibits complex and varied weather patterns influenced by high temperatures, precipitation, and humidity throughout the year. This high weather variability often leads to uncertainties in weather forecasting, affecting sectors such as agriculture, transportation, and tourism. This study aims to predict the weather in Sleman Regency using the Random Forest algorithm to address forecasting uncertainties and provide more accurate predictions. The method involves collecting daily weather data from BMKG, conducting exploratory data analysis to understand data characteristics, and processing the data, including cleaning and normalization, before applying it to the Random Forest model. The study's goal is to improve the accuracy of weather predictions to support more precise and effective decision-making. Preliminary results show that the Random Forest model performs well with a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.060, Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 0.009, Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) of 0.094, and R-squared of 0.691. The model evaluation indicates good performance in predicting weather in the study area. With these results, the developed weather prediction model holds significant potential to enhance sustainability and operational efficiency in various sectors reliant on weather conditions.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of observations which show that the results of the three-dimensional daily assessments and end-of-semester assessments are still not optimal. This is influenced by several factors, especially the student's interest in learning in class. They still have difficulty visualizing the three dimensions so in calculating the questions given, they still experience difficulties completing them. Three-dimensional material requires a good understanding of the shapes of three-dimensional space and related concepts. Therefore, the Augmented Reality (AR) feature is needed in the Geogebra application. This research aims to analyze students' learning interests by using the Augmented Reality (AR) feature in the Geogebra application. This research used a qualitative approach where the research subjects were 61 students consisting of 33 students in class XII IPA 1 and 28 students in class XII IPS 1 at SMAIT Raudhatul Jannah Cilegon. The research results show that the presentation of each indicator on the student interest scale questionnaire has an average of 80.19%, which means that almost all students already have an interest in learning three-dimensional material using the Augmented Reality (AR) feature in the Geogebra application. It is hoped that other researchers can develop the results of this research, as well as improve the quality of learning, especially in mathematics learning with the help of the Geogebra application to increase insight.

Abstract

Understanding and constructing mathematical proofs is fundamental for students in abstract algebra courses. The computational thinking approach can aid the process of compiling mathematical proofs. This study examined the impact of integrating computational thinking components in constructing mathematical proofs. The researcher employed a sequential explanatory approach to ascertain the enhancement of algebraic proof capability based on computational thinking through the t- test. A total of 32 prospective teachers in mathematics education programs were provided with worksheets for seven meetings, which were combined with computational thinking components. Quantitative data were collected from initial and subsequent test instruments. Moreover, three prospective teachers were examined through case studies to investigate their mathematical proof capability using computational thinking components, including decomposition, abstraction, pattern recognition, and algorithmic thinking. The study's findings indicated that CT intervention enhanced students' logical reasoning, proof-writing abilities, and overall engagement with abstract algebra concepts. The findings illustrate that integrating computational thinking into learning strategies can provide a framework for developing higher-order thinking skills, especially in proving, which are essential for studies in mathematics education programs.

Abstract

Thematic Community Service Program (KKN Tematik) has measurable performance targets and a clear thematic focus, enabling students to make tangible contributions to community life, particularly in religious and social sectors. Activities include religious education, the development of majelis ta’lim (Islamic study groups), Islamic festivals, MSME mentoring, as well as health education and digital literacy. Through a participatory approach, students can act as catalysts for change, strengthen Islamic values, and raise community awareness of local issues. However, the limited duration of the program makes social adaptation faster and more challenging, thus requiring more systematic and intensive program planning. Community service activities using the ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) method yield several important conclusions. Despite the short duration of the KKN, activities tend to be more compact and impactful. Overall, the community and village government where the KKN is held are receptive to the activities. Communities often need assistance and guidance in managing religious activities in rural areas. Students also demonstrate significant potential to integrate easily with the community, particularly through this point of contribution

Abstract

Abstract

The results of the PISA study revealed that students have low critical thinking skills in Indonesia, especially in mathematics. This study aims to evaluate the effect of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) strategy on the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade elementary school students in solving arithmetic problems in Yogyakarta. This study used a quantitative approach with a nonequivalent control group experimental design. The instruments used included essay tests, observation sheets, and documentation. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and t-tests to test the hypothesis. The results of the analysis showed that the TaRL strategy significantly improved students' critical thinking skills in four main aspects. The t-test produced a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The average posttest score of the experimental group reached 81.5, which is higher than that of the control group, which obtained an average of 76. This increase is illustrated in students' abilities to identify problems, analyze information, evaluate solutions, and logically convey arguments. These findings indicate that the TaRL strategy is effective in improving learning outcomes and contributes to strengthening students' critical thinking skills from an early age. Thus, the implementation of TaRL can be an alternative adaptive and transformative learning strategy to improve the quality of basic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Arabic teaching has the aim in the mastery of four skills; listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Considering to the languages teaching nowadays, educative games are commonly used as inseparable method from their curriculum. This method also had been practiced in Arabic teaching by some teachers. For this context, some rules need to be curricularly formulated. This critical point had not been elaborated curricularly. In this research, Library research model highlighted several studies of Arabic learning practices through game methods; then analyzed it with analytical and descriptive critical discourse methods to formulating the good, proper, and ideal ‘educative game’ in Arabic teaching. This study concluded the language game which emphasized some aspects such as 1) teacher competency, 2) facilities and infrastructure, 3) environmental conditions and situations. These three prerequisites are important in carrying out language teaching through ’curricular’ language games. Thus, educative language games can be formulated curricularly, which can be a simply contribution for practicing Arabic teaching through ‘educative games’.
