Abstract

Magnesium (Mg), known for its biodegradable and biocompatible properties, currently is being developed for biodegradable implant material. Unfortunately, application of Mg in biomedical devices was limited due to its low mechanical strength and low corrosion resistance. In this study, powder metallurgy was selected to process Mg-3Zn-1Ca, Mg-29Zn-1Ca, and Mg-53Zn-4.3Ca (in weight%) alloys. Holding time of sintering were varied for five and ten hours. Microstructure of Mg alloy was characterized by SEM (scanning electron microscope) and also XRD (x-ray diffraction). Compression testing was done to show the mechanical strength of Mg alloy, while corrosion resistance was examined through electrochemical testing. This study showed that ten hours of sintering time would increase mechanical properties of Mg alloy but would reduce corrosion resistance. The lowest corrosion rate was 0.32 mmpy given by Mg-29Zn-1Ca alloy and Mg-53Zn- 4Ca alloy which were sintered for five hours. Therefore, sintering time for five hours was found to be the optimum time to process Mg-Zn-Ca alloy for biodegradable implant material.AbstrakMagnesium (Mg), dengan kemampuan mampu luruh dan biokompatibilitas, merupakan salah satu logam yang kini dikembangkan sebagai material implan mampu luruh. Namun, penggunaan Mg dalam aplikasi biomedis masih terkendala kekuatan dan ketahanan korosi yang rendah. Pada penelitian kali ini proses metalurgi serbuk dipilih untuk membuat paduan Mg-3Zn-1Ca, Mg-29Zn-1Ca, and Mg-53Zn-4.3Ca (dalam %berat) dengan variasi waktu tahan sintering lima jam dan sepuluh jam. Pengaruh waktu tahan sintering dikaji dari segi kekuatan tekan dan ketahanan korosi paduan. Karakterisasi struktur mikro paduan Mg dilakukan dengan menggunakan scanning electron microscope (SEM) dan juga x-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). Dilakukan pengujian tekan untuk mengetahui nilai kekuatan paduan sedangkan ketahanan korosi dianalisis dengan menggunakan pengujian elektrokimia.  Waktu  tahan sintering selama 10 jam akan meningkatkan kekuatan mekanik namun menurunkan ketahanan korosi paduan. Laju korosi yang terbaik (0,32 mmpy) ditunjukkan oleh paduan Mg-29Zn-1Ca dan Mg-53Zn-4Ca dengan waktu tahan lima jam. Oleh karena itu, waktu tahan sintering yang optimum  adalah lima jam untuk menghasilkan paduan Mg-Zn-Ca untuk material implan.

Abstract

Background Plasma cells are important prognostic factors in various malignancies including Classical Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL). In the CHL microenvironment, plasma cells are the main prognostic factors, but research of relationship between plasma cell density in the microenvironment and CHL stage is still very limited. This study aims to determine the relationship between plasma cell density in the microenvironment and the CHL stage. Methods A case series procedure was conducted. The samples were paraffin blocks of CHL patients at Anatomic Pathology Department of Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sriwijaya/Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital. Among 47 cases of CHL diagnosed from 1st Januari 2018 to 30th November 2022, only 30 cases were included. Immunohistochemistry was performed by using specific antibody of plasma cells (anti-CD138 antibody). The number of plasma cells in each sample was calculated based on the expression of CD138 in the cell membrane and cytoplasm with weak-strong intensity. Then the cut-off point value was determined based on the ROC curve to classify the high and low plasma cell densities. The density of plasma cells was correlated to clinicopathological characteristics including age, sex, tumor location, CHL subtypes and stage. Statistical analysis was performed using Spearman test of SPSS with significant consideration if p<0.05. Results A high proportion (>10,9) of tumour-associated plasma cells of the tumor microenvironment was found in CHL advanced stage. Spearman test resulted in a significant correlation between density of plasma cell with advanced stage classical Hodgkin lymphoma (p=0.000). Conclusions There is significant relationship between high density of plasma cells with CHL stage.

Abstract

Leadership is an important thing in social life. There is no doubt about it. The election of leaders has become a party in various countries around the world including Indonesia. Ideal leadership for the millennial generation must be able to adapt to the demands and development of the times. Even though the existence of leadership varies and each has its value and effectiveness, of course the thing that stands out in ideal leadership for the millennial generation is servant leadership which has the strongest relationship, for the millennial generation, the ideal of a leader is characterized by how much the leaders understand the media (technology literacy). When leaders in the millennial generation are not technologically literate, they will be ready to be abandoned by their followers.

Abstract

Increasing the success of teacher performance is largely determined by the leadership style of a school principal in his capacity as a leader. This research aims to obtain data results regarding: (1). Increasing teacher work discipline through the leadership style of the school principal. (2). The principal through his leadership style is able to increase teacher work motivation. (3). Increased teacher responsibility through the leadership style of the school principal. (4). In improving teacher performance, there are obstacles or constraints faced by school principals. This approach uses a qualitative approach through descriptive methods. With data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation studies. From the results of this research it can be concluded that: (1). In order to improve discipline, an instructive leadership style (telling) is applied by the school principal. (2). In increasing teacher work motivation, a consultative (selling) leadership style is applied by the school principal. (3). In increasing teacher responsibility, the school principal applies a delegative leadership style. (4) In learning, there are obstacles or obstacles faced by school principals, namely, decreased teacher discipline, reduced teacher work motivation, and low teacher responsibility in learning. There are suggestions from the author so that the desired goals can be achieved well and maximally, a good leadership style can be applied that is optimally suited to the situation and conditions by the school principal.

Abstract

In the world of education, what controls all learning orientations for students is the curriculum. The current digital era has a big influence on the state of the curriculum in Indonesia, it is the responsibility of the government and related parties to provide a curriculum that can facilitate the needs of students in facing the era of digitalization, including the challenge of curriculum development in improving digital literacy skills in the midst of technological advances and the current flow of globalization. unavoidable. Curriculum development is essentially a flow of stages starting from making a plan which is carried out by the curriculum developer and then continued by the drafting team, namely the development institution and all activities, which are carried out so that the curriculum developed can be an alternative to solving problems found in educational institutions and can also be catalyst for further national education development.
