Abstract

Abstract

Gunung Mas Agrotourism is a sub-unit managed by PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII (PTPN VIII) under the management of Agrotourism and is the largest contributor to PTPN VIII's revenue, which is 70% and most of it comes from the tourism sector. The facilities and activities offered by Gunung Mas Agrotourism also vary, from lodging, restaurants, tourist attractions, and supporting facilities to meet the tourists' needs. To find out the magnitude of tourist interest in tourist attractions, an analysis of the attractiveness of tourist attractions is needed. This study aims to assess tourist attractions based on tourist preferences as well as the availability and accessibility of facilities in the Gunung Mas Agrotourism area, Bogor Regency. The method used is a survey method with a quantitative approach with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The results of this study show that horseback riding got the highest meanwhile ATV got the lowest value of attractiveness. It indicates that the easier accessibility as well as the higher number of facilities to a tourist attraction, the greater the value of attractiveness.

Abstract

Cianjur Regency is a regency that is vulnerable to earthquakes and landslides. This is because the Cianjur Regency is crossed by the Cimandiri Fault which is actively moving. Meanwhile, the population growth rate in Cianjur district has increased based on data from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) for 2020-2021. Population growth causes many problems, especially the problem of space. Built-up land will be higher as the population increases. This study uses the temporal spatial analysis method of land use with variables of land use in 2013 and 2022, Earthquake Vulnerability Index, and Landslide Vulnerability Index. This variable was obtained based on the processing of Landsat 8 Satellite Imagery data in 2013 and 2022 and disaster vulnerability raster data from Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB). The results of this study are a temporal spatial analysis of changes in land use from 2013 - 2022 for earthquake-vulnerable areas and landslide-vulnerable areas. Changes in the use of built-up land to the Landslide Vulnerability Index experienced an increase in area in all categories. In contrast, the Earthquake Vulnerability Index only experienced an increase in the medium and high categories.

Abstract

The presence of greenery in urban residential and office areas can improve the comfort of residents who live in these environments. In an urban setting, vegetation serves an ecological purpose by absorbing carbon dioxide, supplying oxygen, lowering the temperature to produce a tolerable microclimate, acting as a water catchment area, and reducing noise. Urbanization and anthropogenic activity-driven growth of urban and            sub-urban regions put stress on the local vegetation and have the potential to lower environmental comfort. To promote the creation of a sustainable urban environment, a thorough analysis of the urban environment is required. Applications for remote sensing in all spectral, geographic, and temporal dimensions have increasingly adopted the usage of deep learning methods with artificial neural networks. This study attempted to predict the application of remote sensing data for analyzing environmental comfort in metropolitan areas based on multitemporal Landsat-8 data. The study area is Greater Jakarta. The approach was based on supervised classification with neural network techniques and land parameters like surface temperature, brightness index, greenness index, and wetness index. According to the study's findings, the proposed method could accurately predict that very uncomfortable classes predominated in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, and surrounding areas by more than 92%. In addition to being densely populated with communities, urban environments are uncomfortable due to a lack of vegetation cover, which increases surface temperatures. In the future, this research can provide input for similar research, especially in the use of deep learning Artificial Neural Network methods for environmental analysis.

Abstract

Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) change are major factors affecting Land Surface Temperature (LST), especially in areas experiencing urbanisation and climate change pressures. Ciputri Village, which is predominantly agricultural, has experienced significant changes in land cover patterns over the past two decades, with the potential for increased surface temperature due to land use change. This study analyses and predicts the dynamics of land use and cover changes and their relationship with land surface temperature in the period 2005-2035 using a combination of remote sensing data and Cellular Automata-Artificial Neural Network (CA-ANN) models. The analysis showed that between 2005 and 2020, the area of dense vegetation decreased by 20.49%, while built-up land increased by 43.75%. In line with these changes, surface temperature increased by 1.96°C on average. Predictions to 2035 show a similar trend, with built-up land projected to increase by 20.11%, while average surface temperature is expected to increase by 2.71°C compared to 2005. The correlation between land cover change and surface temperature variation suggests that conversion of dense vegetation to mixed land and built-up land is a major factor driving temperature increases. These findings emphasise the urgency of spatially-based climate change mitigation, including vegetation conservation and sustainable development planning to reduce the impact of future temperature increases.

Abstract

Food is a basic human need and a fundamental right for every individual, with rice serving as one of the primary carbohydrate sources for more than half of the world's population. However, population growth and shifts in human values have led to the conversion of rice fields into urban areas, significantly impacting rice production and global rice availability. This literature review employed the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) method to conduct a systematic review of relevant literature. Out of an initial total of 186 articles retrieved, 38 articles met the criteria for in-depth analysis. The analysis revealed that research on land-use changes over the past decade tended to discuss the conversion of rice fields separately from aspects of rice self-sufficiency. However, these two issues were interconnected and shared a deep relationship. The conversion of rice fields continued to occur massively and often uncontrollably across nearly all regions of the world, potentially threatening the balance of rice availability in the future. Through this literature review, the authors aimed to integrate various perspectives to illustrate the causal relationship between the carrying capacity of rice fields and efforts toward food self-sufficiency. As an agrarian nation, policies promoting regional rice self-sufficiency could be considered as an alternative approach to achieving future food security standards, based on the principle that each region should be able to meet its rice needs independently. Therefore, in-depth analysis is necessary to formulate appropriate strategies so that land-use changes remain well-monitored while future food needs are guaranteed.
