Abstract

The low numeracy skills of students at SMP Negeri 1 Mejobo are reflected in the results of a preliminary study on students in class VIII I, with an average score of 27.21. Based on these findings, this study aims to improve the numeracy skills of class VIII students through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by Numerasites media. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, students in class VIII I are designated as the experimental group and students in class VIII F as the control group. Sampling was carried out using simple random sampling. Initial data analysis includes normality tests, homogeneity tests, and average equality tests. Final data analysis was carried out through independent two-sample t-tests and N-Gain calculations. The instrument used in this study was a numeracy ability test. The results of the study show: (1) The average numeracy skills of students who participated in PBL learning assisted by Numerasites media were superior compared to students who received conventional learning; (2) There is a significant increase in numeracy skills before and after implementing the PBL model assisted by Numerasites media, with the improvement category being high.

Abstract

The low achievement of Indonesian students in science and numeracy, as reflected in the 2022 PISA results, highlights limited innovation and weak integration of numeracy in elementary science learning. Classroom observations at SDN 2 and SDN 1 Kalipucangwetan further revealed conventional, teacher-centered learning with minimal use of digital media. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the ekoterin e-module an ecosystem-based digital learning module integrated with numeracy to improve fifth grade students learning outcomes in the IPAS subject. Using the research and development (RD) method with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation), data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and pretestposttest assessments. The e-module was designed using canva for website, converted into an android application, and equipped with interactive multimedia such as videos, games, and quizzes. Expert validation yielded an average feasibility score of 94.6% (very feasible), while teacher and student practicality tests scored 95.58% (very practical). Effectiveness testing, analyzed using a quasi-experimental design, showed a significant difference (p 0.001) between the experimental group (mean = 81.71; N-Gain = 0.56) and the control group (mean = 72.56; N-Gain = 0.36). These findings indicate that the ekoterin e-module is valid, practical, and effective in improving students IPAS learning outcomes, particularly in understanding ecosystem concepts and integrating numeracy in science learning

Abstract

Kemampuan numerasi siswa sekolah dasar di Indonesia, khususnya di wilayah Jawa Tengah, masih tergolong rendah. Kondisi ini berkaitan dengan pembelajaran matematika yang masih bersifat konvensional, kurang menarik, dan belum terhubung dengan konteks budaya lokal, sehingga pembentukan pemahaman numerasi secara mendalam menjadi terhambat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengimplementasikan Joyful Learning berbantuan Interactive Web-Based Mathematics Learning Media yang diperkaya dengan unsur budaya Jawa Tengah sebagai upaya memperkuat kemampuan numerasi siswa kelas IV. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review dengan menganalisis 20 jurnal nasional dan 10 jurnal internasional terbitan 2018–2024 yang berfokus pada media digital interaktif, pendekatan pembelajaran menyenangkan, serta integrasi budaya lokal dalam pendidikan matematika. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa media interaktif berbasis web mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual, motivasi belajar, dan keterlibatan aktif siswa. Joyful Learning menciptakan suasana belajar yang positif dan partisipatif, sedangkan integrasi budaya Jawa Tengah menjadikan pembelajaran lebih kontekstual, humanis, dan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis budaya lokal efektif digunakan sebagai inovasi untuk memperkuat numerasi dan mewujudkan pembelajaran matematika yang menyenangkan, interaktif, dan bermakna.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya kecakapan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Fenomena di lapangan menunjukkan siswa masih kerap mengalami hambatan kognitif dalam menelaah konteks soal cerita serta merumuskan prosedur penyelesaian yang sistematis. Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk menguji signifikansi pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan Web App SI-MAMAT berbasis etnomatematika terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Pendekatan kuantitatif melalui metode eksperimen semu (quasi-experiment) dengan skema Pretest-Posttest Non-equivalent Control Group Design diterapkan dalam penelitian ini. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling, sehingga menetapkan Kelas X E-3 sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang mengimplementasikan model PBL berbantuan Web App SI-MAMAT dan Kelas X E-1 sebagai kelompok kontrol yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis berbentuk uraian. Hasil analisis statistik inferensial membuktikan bahwa penerapan model PBL berbantuan Web App SI-MAMAT memberikan dampak positif yang signifikan. Capaian ini diperkuat oleh perolehan rata-rata N-Gain Score kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,62 yang menduduki kategori sedang, sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya memperoleh rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,37 yang juga termasuk kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa integrasi model PBL dan media interaktif SI-MAMAT sangat efektif dalam mengoptimalkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a product in the form of MASLEMBING teaching materials containing ethnomathematics on the subject of probability for grade VI of elementary school. This research is a development research that uses the ADDIE design model with the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques use questionnaires, learning outcome tests, observation, and documentation. This research instrument is in the form of a questionnaire sheet, a learning outcome test sheet, which is then analyzed using qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data used are in the form of sentences, pictures, and charts. Quantitative data is collected by conducting validity tests, practicality tests, and effectiveness tests. The developed product is validated by material experts, media experts, and language experts. The results of the study show that the validation test score obtained an average score of 3.3, with a very good category. Based on the results of the student response questionnaire, a score of 3.30 was obtained, and the results of the teacher response obtained a score of 3.57, with a very good category. Based on the results of the effectiveness test, the results of the N-Gain test on the pretest and posttest scores in the experimental class obtained an average difference of 0.53 with moderate criteria, so the level of effectiveness is effective. The results of the Independent T Test comparison test showed that the significance value was 0.000 less than 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the posttest results of the experimental class and the control class. With this, the MASLEMBING teaching materials containing ethnomathematics for grade VI elementary school students are effective, practical, and suitable for use in classroom learning.

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in mathematics is still relatively low in Indonesia. One of the causes is the lack of practice and habituation in working on HOTS problems. To overcome this, innovations in learning are needed that not only improve critical thinking skills but also link mathematical concepts to local culture through ethnomathematics. The purpose of this research is to develop a valid, practical, and effective HOTS and ethnomathematics based interactive animation video to improve students' critical thinking ability. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and critical thinking ability tests. Participants include students, teachers, and expert validators. Effectiveness was determined by analyzing the improvement of critical thinking skills in the experimental group and comparing the posttest results with the control group using N-Gain and an independent sample t-test. The experimental group achieved an average N-Gain of 0.62, indicating a moderate improvement, and a significantly higher posttest score (86.33) than the control group (75.48), with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05. These results indicate that the interactive animation video media based on HOTS and ethnomathematics developed is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. This research contributes to the development of learning media based on theory and technology, as well as offering practical insights for future innovations in mathematics education.

Abstract

The reasearch aim to measure improvement in the understanding concept mathematics abilities after using the Discovery Learning Model. The understanding concept mathematics abilities is one of the important goals in learning, providing an understanding that the material taught to students is not just memorization, but more than that with understanding students can better understand the concept of the subject matter itself. In this study, researchers will use the Discovery Learning model which is one of the learning models that requires students to find and find their knowledge in accordance with their own abilities, so that students' ability to understand concepts can be improved. The results of this research showed there is an increase in students' understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika ditinjau dari aktivitas belajar siswa dalam model RME melalui kartu keren pada siswa kelas V SDN 1 Gebang tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Realistik Mathematic Education (RME) adalah suatu pendekatan pembelajaran matematika yang berawal dari masalah realistik sebagai sarana untuk mengonkretkan materi dan menghimpun konsep matematika. Langkah yang dapat dilakukan adalah memahami masalah, membuat perencanaan, melaksanakan rencana, dan melihat kembali hasil yang diperoleh. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V yang dengan jumlah 6 siswa. Pengecekan keabsahan data  dilakukan dengan uji kredibilitas, tranferabelitas, dependabilitas, dan konfirmabilitas  Proses analisa menggunakan langkah-langkah yang terdiri dari pengumpulan data, reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Penerapan model Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) di SDN 1 Gebang memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dalam membantu siswa menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika tentang volume bangun ruang kubus dan balok.

Abstract

Students' low numeracy skills and lack of interest in learning make it urgent to address these issues through learning that is relevant and responsive to cultural contexts. Several studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of RME in improving numeracy skills, but there remains a gap in the integration of cultural contexts within these approaches. This study seeks to address this gap by integrating RME into a cultural context through the game of dakon, with the aim of determining its effectiveness on students' numeracy skills and learning interest. Using a quantitative method, specifically a post-only control design, this study employed cluster random sampling, involving 40 students (20 students from class VA and 20 students from class VB) at SDN Rejoagung 01, Trangkil, Pati. This research design didn't include a pretest, so the initial equivalence between groups was based on their previous average academic scores. Data were collected through tests and questionnaires. Data analysis utilized the independent samples t-test. The results show a significant difference (p < 0.01) in students' numeracy skills between the experimental class (88.80) and the control class (71.80), and a significant difference (p < 0.01) in students' learning interest between the experimental class (95.40) and the control class (86.05). It can be concluded that RME assisted by the dakon game is effective in students' numeracy skills and learning interest. These findings provide empirical evidence and a more comprehensive understanding of learning that responds to cultural contexts, which is effectively capable on tudents' numeracy skills and learning interest in elementary school.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The initial condition of students’ mathematical critical thinking skills at SMA Negeri 2 Bae Kudus indicated the need for learning experiences that provide greater opportunities for students to process and justify their thinking. A preliminary study involving 36 tenth-grade students yielded an average score of 41.15. This study was conducted during the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year to analyze the improvement of these skills through the implementation of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) assisted by a culture-based E-Flipbook on the topic of measures of central tendency. A quasi-experimental approach with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design was employed in two classes selected through simple random sampling: class X E4 received RME instruction assisted by a Javanese culture-based E-Flipbook, while class X E5 received direct instruction. Students’ abilities were measured using essay tests administered before and after the treatment, followed by normality, homogeneity, and N-Gain analyses. In the experimental group, the mean score increased from 36.46 to 80.38, with an N-Gain of 0.70, categorized as high. A total of 22 students achieved a high level of improvement, while 14 students were categorized as moderate. These findings indicate that integrating a realistic approach, digital media, and local cultural context can serve as an alternative for creating mathematics learning experiences that support the development of students’ critical thinking skills. ABSTRAK Kondisi awal kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa di SMA Negeri 2 Bae Kudus memperlihatkan perlunya pengalaman belajar yang memberi ruang lebih besar bagi siswa untuk mengolah dan mempertanggungjawabkan proses berpikirnya. Studi pendahuluan terhadap 36 siswa kelas X menghasilkan rata-rata kemampuan sebesar 41,15. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2025/2026 untuk menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan tersebut melalui penerapan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) berbantuan E-Flipbook berbasis budaya Jawa pada materi ukuran pemusatan data. Rancangan quasi-experimental dengan bentuk nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design digunakan pada dua kelas yang dipilih melalui simple random sampling, yaitu X E4 sebagai kelompok yang memperoleh pembelajaran RME berbantuan E-Flipbook berbasis budaya Jawa dan X E5 sebagai kelompok yang mengikuti pembelajaran langsung. Kemampuan siswa diukur melalui tes uraian sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan, kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan N-Gain. Pada kelompok eksperimen, rata-rata skor meningkat dari 36,46 menjadi 80,38, dengan N-Gain 0,70 berkategori tinggi. Sebanyak 22 siswa mencapai kategori peningkatan tinggi dan 14 siswa berada pada kategori sedang. Capaian tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa integrasi pendekatan realistis, media digital, dan konteks budaya lokal dapat menjadi alternatif untuk membangun pengalaman pembelajaran matematika yang mendukung perkembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.
