Abstract

This study examines the urgency of adapting Palabe, an oral literature from the Bungo community in Jambi Province, into multimodal literacy resources for early childhood education. Palabe is at risk of extinction due to limited documentation, reduced oral transmission, and declining interest among younger generations. Yet, Palabe contains significant moral, social, and religious values that align with national character education goals. A qualitative descriptive method with a content analysis approach was applied, grounded in Early Literacy theory. Data were obtained from 23 Palabe narratives collected from 12 participants (7 males and 5 females) across eight sub-districts in Bungo Regency, selected purposively for their cultural expertise and involvement in oral tradition. Data collection included participatory observation, oral recording, transcription, and documentation. Findings show that 12 Palabe stories possess high educational values, including patience, collaboration, sincerity, perseverance, and trust in God. However, these stories require adaptation to be developmentally appropriate for children aged 5–6 years. The adaptation process involves simplifying sentences, adding repetition, shortening plots, and integrating visual illustrations to enhance comprehension and engagement. The study recommends incorporating adapted Palabe into early childhood curricula and developing illustrated storybooks to preserve cultural identity, foster literacy, and strengthen character education through enjoyable, meaningful learning.

Abstract

This paper illustrates the implementation of a community project developed based on a partnership between the community and the local university in Bungo and Tebo Regencies. The project aims to develop the local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as a strategic step to increase the regional economy, taking the form of a so- called Community–University Partnership Program in Bungo and Tebo Regencies. The Community–University Partnership methodology employs the Service Learning (SL) method to increase MSME actors’ competence in terms of financial literacy, product packaging, and marketing. The effectiveness of the SL-based Community–University Partnership Program was measured using a quantitative survey approach through a questionnaire instrument on 28 MSMEs in Bungo and Tebo Regencies. The program showed a positive impact, in which the MSMEs actors benefited from the SL-based Community–University Partnership Program. The continuation of the SL-based Community–University Partnership Program arguably improves MSME’s development and enhances the regional economy to establish financial independence for citizens.

Abstract

Abstract

Geothermal energy is one of Indonesia's most promising renewable energy sources, particularly in areas along the Ring of Fire. However, managing geothermal energy often involves complex dynamics, including policy, governance, and local community resistance. This article aims to analyze the dynamics of geothermal energy policy governance in Indonesia, focusing on the case of Padarincang, Banten. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with stakeholders (central government, local government, and local communities), observation, and documentation from government reports, media, and academic publications. The research findings indicate that geothermal energy policy in Padarincang demonstrates a conflict of interests at various government levels (national, regional, and village) and non-state actors (investors, mass organizations, and civil society). Community resistance arises due to weak participation mechanisms and a lack of communication between governance levels. This study emphasizes that the success of Indonesia's energy transition is highly dependent on strengthening collaborative governance across all levels and actors.

Abstract

Outpatient clinics in Indonesia routinely generate extensive health data through patient visits; however, such data remain underutilized for strategic and clinical decision-making. This study aims to segment patients based on visit frequency, diagnosis codes, demographic characteristics, and payment types using three clustering techniques: K-Means, Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering, and DBSCAN. The objective is to determine the most effective method for patient stratification in a primary healthcare setting. Patient visit data from Klinik Pratama UIN Sunan Kalijaga for the year 2024 were analyzed. K-Means produced the most granular structure with nine clusters, DBSCAN identified seven clusters including a noise group, while Hierarchical Clustering yielded three macro-clusters. Internal validation using Silhouette Score, Davies-Bouldin Index, and Calinski-Harabasz Index revealed Hierarchical Clustering as the optimal model, achieving the highest cluster cohesion and separation with a Silhouette Score of 0.502, Calinski-Harabasz Index of 2134.87, and Davies-Bouldin Index of 0.668. The dendrogram and principal component analysis visualization confirmed the natural separation into three clinically meaningful patient segments. Cluster 0 comprised patients with acute respiratory and digestive conditions exhibiting sporadic visits. Cluster 1 consisted predominantly of male BPJS-insured patients with musculoskeletal and dental complaints and moderate visit frequency. Cluster 2 included female BPJS-insured patients with chronic metabolic and vascular diseases requiring consistent and frequent care. These findings demonstrate the efficacy of hierarchical clustering in producing interpretable patient segments and provide a valuable foundation for targeted healthcare management and resource allocation in outpatient clinics.
