Abstract

This study aims to identify the forms of self-presentation performed by content creators on Instagram through a dramaturgical approach, as well as to explain the role of followers in shaping the creators' identity presentation on social media. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, conducted from January to August 2023. The subjects consist of five Instagram content creators aged 20–30 years, all based in Jakarta. Data was collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study, and were further supported by expert insights in the field of social media. The data were analyzed using Erving Goffman's dramaturgical theory. The findings reveal that content creators construct their digital persona on the front stage through curated visual content, a consistent communication style, and narratives tailored to audience expectations. Meanwhile, aspects of private life and emotional fatigue are managed backstage as part of a more personal space. Followers play a role in shaping content creators’ identities through comments, direct messages, and interactions that foster one sided emotional connection. Identity on Instagram is not a pure reflection of the self but the result of personal strategy, algorithmic pressure, and the ongoing demand for social connectivity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' pedagogical management in developing a school culture based on Tatanén di Balé Atikan (TdBA) in elementary schools in Purwakarta Regency. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with nine grade IV–VI teachers and three principals, and document analysis at three public elementary schools in Bungursari District that had implemented TdBA for at least two years. Thematic analysis revealed four dimensions of effective pedagogical management: (1) lesson planning that integrates TdBA values through the Pancaniti framework into subject-specific competencies; (2) implementation of project based learning in school gardens as "living laboratories" emphasizing collaboration (gotong royong) and value modeling through teacher exemplarity; (3) authentic assessment based on process and attitude portfolios aligned with the Sundanese principle of silih asah, coupled with democratic classroom management; and (4) synergy between the principal's visionary leadership and teachers' social competence. Main challenges include tension between the dense national curriculum and flexible time needs, variations in teachers' understanding, limited physical resources, and difficulties in character assessment. The study concludes that holistic pedagogical management by teachers serves as the core driver in transforming TdBA from a ceremonial activity into a living and sustainable school culture.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of School Based Management (SBM) at SDN 1 Citalang as a strategy for empowerment and character education strengthening. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in depth interviews with the principal and a teacher, participant observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman's interactive model involving data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Findings reveal that SBM implementation has been effectively executed through the integration of culturally grounded character programs, particularly the "7 Poe Atikan Istimewa" policy which embeds daily activities reinforcing nationalism, literacy, Sundanese local wisdom, social care, and spirituality. The principal applies a democratic situational leadership style characterized by participatory decision making and bidirectional communication via face to face meetings and digital platforms. Key supporting factors include active participation of school members, strong local government policy legitimacy, and collaborative leadership. Major challenges involve physical infrastructure limitations (12 classrooms for 687 students necessitating shift systems), low digital capacity among teachers (only 35% proficient in LMS), and parental traffic management. The study concludes that SBM serves as an effective framework for school management when implemented contextually with adaptive leadership and community participation, though sustainability requires continuous external support for infrastructure development and human resource capacity building.
