Abstract

The degradation of Macapat songs' existence among Generation Z represents an urgent cultural issue that has yet to be systematically examined through an integrative cultural ecology framework. This study aims to: (1) analyze the current existence of Macapat songs among Generation Z through a cultural ecology approach; (2) identify multidimensional factors causing degradation by constructing a new theoretical model; and (3) formulate adaptive revitalization strategies based on empirical research synthesis. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA-P protocol, involving the analysis of 27 selected primary sources from 2018-2025, analyzed using Braun Clarke's (2006) thematic analysis model and synthesized through Neville's Cultural Ecology Framework. The novelty of this research lies in three contributions: (1) the construction of the Macapat Degradation-Revitalization Model (MDRM) integrating six systemic dimensions of degradation; (2) the formulation of a tiered revitalization strategy based on cultural ecology that differentiates interventions at micro, meso, and macro levels; and (3) the identification of the digital paradox as both an opportunity and a threat not yet mapped in previous literature. The findings show that the degradation of Macapat songs is multidimensional – encompassing structural-social, pedagogical, cultural-global, technology-media, policy-institutional, and family transmission dimensions – that interact synergistically to form a cultural degradation spiral. The formulated revitalization strategies comprise six adaptive components: contextual curriculum integration, creative digitalization, creative industry collaboration, local institution strengthening, policy engineering, and family transmission revitalization. This research confirms that successful revitalization of Macapat songs requires an ecological-systemic approach that moves beyond conventional preservation toward a co-evolution of tradition and modernity.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of knowledge of researchers about the meaning reflected in the accompaniment of the traditional art of Sintren in Luwijawa Village, Jatinegara District, Tegal Regency. The text of the tembang poem has many reflections in the form of meaning and basic functions, both implied and explicit, that exist so that it creates a certain interpretation of the tembang rhyme. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the meaning and function of the accompaniment of the traditional art of Sintren poetry in Luwijawa Village, Jatinegara District, Tegal Regency are. The purpose of this research is to explain how the meaning and function of the accompaniment of the traditional art of Sintren in Luwijawa Village, Jatinegara District, Tegal Regency. The methodology used in this study used descriptive qualitative research methods. The source of this research data is in the form of an oral text that has been transliterated into a written text of poetry that accompanies the traditional art of Sintren in Luwijawa Village, Jatinegara District, Tegal Regency with research data in the form of words, phrases, clauses, sentences and discourses in it. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, recording, recording and translating data derived from the traditional art accompaniment of Sintren poetry. Then the data that has been collected is analyzed using data reduction techniques, data classification, and data presentation. Based on data analysis, the results of the study can be stated that in the text of the song lyrics accompanying the traditional art of Sintren found meaning in the form of meaning and function according to the song lyrics in each part.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan mengenai diksi dan pengimajinasian dalam geguritan "Sepuh" karya Dedek Witranto. Untuk mengungkapkan diksi dan pengimajinasian pada geguritan tersebut teori yang digunakan adalah stilistika yang menitikberatkan pada diksi dan pengimajinasian. Kajian bahasa di dalam karya sastra berkaitan erat dengan kajian stilistika. Pendekatan stilistika dilakukan dengan cara menganalisis sistem kebahasaan sebuah karya sastra yang selanjutnya disesuaikan dengan tujuan makna secara keseluruhan. Pada geguritan "Sepuh" karya Dedek Wiranto, pengarang memilih gaya bahasa sebagai fokus kajian yang menarik untuk dikaji, pengarang mengeksploitasi potensi bahasa untuk menyampaikan gagasannya. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan diksi, pengimajinasian, dan fungsinya dalam geguritan Sepuh karya Dedek Wiranto. Data dalam penelitian ini yaitu data deskriptif berupa frasa, kata, dan kalimat. Geguritan Sepuh karya Dedek Witranto hadir dalam berbagai variasi kebahasaan yang menjadikan isi dari geguritan lebih menarik bagi pembaca. Hasil yang ditemukan adalah terdapat pemilihan diksi yang beragam serta pengimajinasian yang akan membawa pembaca lebih menaknai setiap kata yang ada. Dimana pada pemilihan diksi yang digunakan penulis semakin memperkuat makna pada tiap kalimatnya selanjutnya geguritan ini juga memiliki citraan atau pengimajinasian yaitu pada, yang diperkuat dengan kata yang menghasilkan imajinasi bagi penikmat karya sastra.Kata kunci : Geguritan, diksi, pengimajinasian

Abstract

The Feasibility of a Descriptive Text in the Class X Javanese Prigel Learning Book Published by Erlangga AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to analyze the adequacy of a language in the Javanese descriptive text in the Javanese Prigel book whether it is good and worthy to be used as a learning text in the classroom later. This writing discusses the use of a text scope including: (1) Describing the purpose/social function in a descriptive text (2) Describing the stages in a descriptive text (3) Describing a linguistic feature in a descriptive text entitled sego megono . Data collection techniques used are reading and writing techniques and data analysis techniques using qualitative methods and descriptive analysis techniques which include description, classification and analysis. The results of this study are to find out in the descriptive text entitled sego megono whether it is feasible to be included in a study and whether the text already has a social function, stages, and linguistic characteristics in the text. Abstract

Wayang kulit is an Indonesian cultural heritage that plays a strategic role as a medium for value education and social control within society. This study aims to analyze the wayang kulit play Sang Tetuka as an instrument of social control among the younger generation using Travis Hirschi’s social control theory. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through performance observation, analysis of play transcripts, and documentation. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify moral values and mechanisms of social control embedded in the play. The findings indicate that Sang Tetuka contains mechanisms of social control reflected in Hirschi’s four elements of social bonds: attachment (emotional ties of the characters to family values), commitment (commitment to norms of justice), involvement (engagement in responsible actions), and belief (belief in a moral value system). The play conveys messages of social control regarding arrogant behavior among the younger generation, the importance of impartial justice, and the consequences of deviant actions. The wayang kulit performance of this play is proven to be effective as an informal social control medium that can shape the moral awareness of the younger generation through rich and meaningful symbolic narratives.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the results of the application of the BIMA SI RAJA (Bisa Maca Sinau Aksara Jawa) learning media in learning to read and write Javanese script for class VIII of SMPN 2 Winong Pati. This is because students consider Javanese script very difficult to understand and difficult to understand by students because the form of Javanese script is almost similar and also students are not used to using Javanese script in everyday life. Another factor is caused by the teacher's delivery which only uses the lecture method and seems less varied. The teacher only provides an overview after which students are asked to work on the questions. The media used is also inadequate and less interesting which makes students seem less proficient in Javanese script. Thus, the formulation of the problem obtained is how the application and results of the BIMA SI RAJA (Bisa Maca Sinau Aksara Jawa) learning media. This research is included in pre-experimental design research in the form of a one-shot case study. The approach used in this study is a descriptive quantitative approach, because the data obtained are calculated statistically then the data are analyzed descriptively, namely describing the results of the data calculations. The data collection used in this study was purposive sampling, while the data obtained in this study were collected by interview and observation. After data analysis, the following results were obtained: 1) In the knowledge aspect, all students obtained scores above the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM), with 15 students or 58% in the Very Good category with a value range of 88-100. And 11 students or (42%) were in the Good category with a value range of 75-87. 2) In the skills aspect, obtained scores above the Minimum Completion Criteria with 11 students or 42% in the Very Good category and 15 students or 58% in the Good category. Thus, the application of the BIMA SI RAJA (Bisa Maca Sinau Aksara Jawa) learning media in learning to read and write Javanese script for class VIII of SMPN 2 Winong Pati can have an influence on the learning outcomes that have been determined.
