Abstract

Abstrak. The study's purpose is to know the effectiveness of google classroom in learning Lesen und Schreiben courses during the COVID-19 pandemic for students of the German education department of the Faculty of Language and Literature Makassar State University. The research design of this study is quasi-experiment. The research was managed at the Faculty of Language and Literature by adopting online learning when giving treatment. A study sample of 25 students of the 2020/2021 academic year. Data on the study was obtained through reading and writing tests and documentation. This research data was analyzed by using the t-one tile test. The results of the analysis showed that Google classroom had significance to the competence of reading and writing German students with tscore (10,975) > ttable (1,714) in reading competence and tscore (8,292) > ttable (1,714) on writing competence. Based on the research data analysis, it can be concluded that google classroom is effective in learning Lesen und Schreiben for students of the German Language Education Study Program of the Faculty of Language and Literature UNM during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Kata Kunci: Google Classroom, Learning Lesen und Schreiben, the COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract

This mixed-method research study explores German skills using the NURS teaching model for students. It was conducted in the German educational department program at the Faculty of Language and Literature at Makassar State University. The research subject was 28 German academic students from two classes in the second semester. Research instruments in this study include syllabi, teaching plans, student activity sheets, and formative tests. Researchers use reading, listening, writing, and speaking tests to determine students’ competencies and skills. The data was examined by researchers using percentage techniques. German Average score of the students before they learn using the NURS teaching model is 75. The result shows that the average student's German-language skills in the A class are 80.75 and 83.50 for the B class. These improvements could be seen in the improvement in each class. Students of A class have improved in listening, 7.5% in reading, 13% in writing, and 11.5% in speaking. Conversely, students of B class have improved by 12% in listening, 9% in reading, 18% in writing and 15% in speaking. Another value of using the NURS teaching model in learning German is that it positively effect on the teachers’ skills, like management of teaching, time, and how to make students more enthusiastic during the learning process. It can be concluded that the NURS teaching model can improve students' German skills in the German educational department at the Faculty of Language and Literature of Makassar State University.

Abstract

This study aims to make the process of learning German vocabulary more interesting and easy to master. an alternative in learning vocabulary, namely using the Westley & Maclean communication model. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Then data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on the data obtained, an analysis and interpretation of the meaning of the data is carried out. The theory used is the Westley & Maclean communication model. The results of this study indicate that communication has an important role in learning German vocabulary. The proof can be seen in the communication model applied at SMA Negeri 14 Gowa. The applied learning communication has been designed systematically.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this research was  to determine the students ability to read German texts from class XI SMAN 9 Makassar trough kahoot game as the media. This type of research is classroom action research which consists of two cycles with each cycle consisting of two meetings. The subject of this research was class XI Mia 1 SMA Negeri 9 Makassar. There are two types of research data, namely qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data was obtained from data from teacher and student observations, while quantitative data was obtained from students' German reading test results. The students' German reading test results in the first cycle obtained an average of 74.4 and increased in the second cycle with an average value of 90.4. The results of this study indicate that the use of kahoot game media can improve the students ability to read German teks of class XI Mia SMA Negeri 9 Makassar.Keywords: Reading, Media Kahoot, German

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the planning, implementation and results of the application of Pictionary media in mastering German vocabulary for class XI students of SMAN 10 Bulukumba.  This research is a classroom action research which consists of two cycles.  The data presented in this study are quantitative data and qualitative data.  Quantitative data was obtained from the German vocabulary mastery test in cycle 1 and cycle 2, and qualitative data was obtained from observations and then analyzed using the percentage technique.  The results showed that the students' vocabulary mastery in cycle 1 reached a percentage value of 47.17% and increased to 58.41% in cycle 2. These results indicate that the application of Pictionary media increases the mastery of German vocabulary in class XI students of SMAN 10 Bulukumba.  Keywords: Learning Media, Vocabulary Mastery, Pictionary.

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of this research was to get the data on the effectiveness of using the learning strategies Giving Question and Getting Answer of the speaking ability of the students of class X at SMA Negeri 11 Enrekang. This research is Quasy Experiment Design Model Noneequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study was Class X SMA Negeri 11 Enrekang students, which consisted of 82 students. Were class X.1 as experimental class consist of 18 students and X.3 as control class consist of 18 students and are selected from random sampling. The data analysis in this research uses a t-test. The result shows that tcount=05 < ttable=032 with a significance level of 0.05. This means that learning strategies Giving Question and Getting Answer is not effective in the speaking ability of the X grade students at SMA Negeri 11 Enrekang.Keyword: Effectiveness, Learning Strategies, Giving Questions and Getting Answers, Speaking Skills

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe the types of illocutionary speech acts between teachers and students in learning German at SMA Negeri 16 Makassar.  The research data is in the form of oral speech between the German teacher and class XII IPA 1 students during the learning process.  This research is descriptive qualitative.  Data collection was carried out through observing, recording and note taking techniques.  Data analysis using qualitative data analysis techniques according to Mattew B. Miles and A. Michael Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and  conclusions/data verification.  The results of the study found that there were four types of illocutionary speech acts during the process of learning German in class XII IPA 1, namely assertive, directive, commissive, and expressive speech acts.Keyword: Illocutionary Speech Acts, Teachers and Students, Qualitative Data Analysis
