Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of William's Flexion Exercise on the intensity of menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) in female students at SMP Negeri 5 Batang Gansal, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The method used was a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest. The results showed a significant decrease in menstrual pain intensity after William's Flexion Exercise (p-value < 0.05), indicating that the exercise reduced menstrual pain. This study concludes that William's Flexion Exercise is effective in reducing the intensity of menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) in female students at SMP Negeri 5 Batang Gansal, Indragiri Hulu Regency. It can therefore be used as an alternative non-pharmacological therapy in managing dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls.   Keywords: Dysmenorrhea, Menstrual Pain Intensity, William's Flexion Exercise

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a condition in which blood pressure increases, leading to persistent symptoms in target organs, such as stroke (which occurs in the brain and has a high mortality rate), coronary heart disease (which damages the heart's blood vessels), and left ventricular hypertrophy (which affects the brain and heart). Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of giving boiled bay leaves on reducing blood pressure in elderly hypertensive women with menopause hypertension. Methods: This type of research is quantitative with a pre- and post-test group design with a control group design. The sample in this study were 38 menopausal mothers with hypertension sufferers in the Kedabu Rapat Community Health Center Working Area as the population. Sampling using a purposive sampling technique covering 16 people. The research data were processed with a paired test statistical test with a value of 0.000 (p <0.05). Results: The results of the study showed that blood pressure after being given boiled bay leaves water was reduced. The average difference in blood pressure reduction between before and after the intervention was obtained from the difference in systolic pressure of 3.73 to 2.20. The results of the Paired t test on systolic pressure p value 0.000 (<0.05) and diastolic pressure p value 0.001 (<0.005). There is an effect of giving boiled bay leaves water on reducing blood pressure in menopausal mothers. Conclusion: So, it can be concluded that giving boiled bay leaves can lower blood pressure in menopausal women with hypertension.

Background:  Consumption of green bean juice is one of the non-pharmacological treatments that can be done to increase hemoglobin levels in pregnant women. Purpose: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of giving mung bean juice to increase hemoglobin levels in pregnant women. Methods: This type of research is quantitative research with a one group pretest-posttest design. The samples in this study were 18 pregnant women with anemia. The sampling technique is purposive sampling, results of data normality testing using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The results showed that before the intervention, all respondents (100%) had anemia with an average hemoglobin level of 10.072 g/dL. After the intervention, the number of respondents with anemia decreased to 72.2% and 27.8% were not anemic, with an average hemoglobin level increasing to 10.678 g/dL. The Wilcoxon test results showed a p value = 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means there was a significant difference between hemoglobin levels before and after the intervention. Conclusion:  Green bean juice can be an alternative to increase hemoglobin levels, as an alternative non-pharmacological intervention in the management of anemia during pregnancy in primary health care

Abstract

Childbirth is a physiological process that is often accompanied by psychological changes, one of which is anxiety experienced by laboring mothers. High levels of anxiety may negatively affect the progress of labor as well as maternal and neonatal outcomes. Husband support is considered an important factor in reducing maternal anxiety during childbirth. This study aimed to determine the effect of husband support on the anxiety level of laboring mothers at UPT RSUD Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti in 2025. This research employed an analytic correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of all laboring mothers at UPT RSUD Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti in June 2025, totaling 28 respondents, using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a respondent characteristic questionnaire and the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). Data analysis was conducted through univariate and bivariate analyses using the Chi-Square test and Linear-by-Linear Association. The results showed that 67.9% of respondents did not receive husband support during childbirth, while 32.1% received husband support. Most respondents experienced mild anxiety (53.6%), followed by no anxiety (39.3%) and moderate anxiety (7.1%). The Chi-Square test yielded a p-value of 0.106, while the Linear-by-Linear Association test showed a p-value of 0.040, indicating a tendency toward decreased anxiety levels with increased husband support. In conclusion, husband support tends to reduce anxiety levels among laboring mothers. Therefore, healthcare providers are encouraged to promote husband involvement during childbirth to improve maternal psychological well-being and the quality of midwifery care.
