Abstract

Mar’atul Arfiah, 2025. The Application of Flipbook Media with the TaRL Model to Improve Reading Literacy of Grade I Students at SD Inpres Kampung Mejang, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency. Undergraduate Thesis, Elementary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. Supervisor I: Aliem Bahri, Supervisor II: Anin Asnidar. The problem in this research is the low reading achievement of Grade I students at SD Inpres Kampung Mejang, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency. This study aims to determine whether the use of Flipbook media with the TaRL model can improve the reading literacy of Grade I students at SD Inpres Kampung Mejang, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of three meetings. Each cycle went through four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 33 Grade I students at SD Inpres Kampung Mejang. The data collection techniques used were observation, tests, and documentation. The data analysis technique applied was descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the analysis of test results in Cycle I, out of 33 students, only 11 students (33.3%) achieved mastery, while 22 students (66.6%) were still in the non-mastery category. This shows that the majority of students had not yet reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). In Cycle II, out of 33 students, 31 students (93.9%) achieved mastery, while only 2 students (6%) were still in the non-mastery category. These results indicate that most students successfully met the minimum mastery standard, proving that learning in Cycle II was effective and significantly improved students’ learning outcomes.The conclusion of this study is that the application of Flipbook media with the TaRL model can improve the reading literacy of Grade I students at SD Inpres Kampung Mejang, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the storytelling method using flashcard media in improving the speaking skills of fourth-grade students of UPT SPF SD Negeri Mannuruki. This study uses quantitative experimental research (pre-experimental design) with a one-group pretest-posttest design experimental design. The sample used was 31 students of class IV B UPT SPF SD Negeri Mannuruki. Data collection techniques used were observation, testing and documentation. The data in this study were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis methods. The results showed that there was an effect of the application of the storytelling method using flashcard media in improving the speaking skills of fourth-grade students of UPT SPF SD Negeri Mannuruki. This can be seen from the increase in test scores given before the storytelling method was applied using flashcard media which only obtained an average pre-test score of 56.6 and after treatment the average post-test score was 74.8. The calculation results with t-test analysis after tcount = 15.8 and ttable 2.024 then obtained tcount> ttable or 15.8> 2.042. So it can be concluded that H0 is rejected H1 is accepted. This means that the application of the storytelling method using flashcard media has an effect on the speaking skills of fourth grade students of UPT SPF SD Negeri Mannuruki.

Abstract

Berbagai permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh guru dalam proses pembelajaran seharusnya dapat diatasi melalui riset yang dituangkan dalam bentuk karya tulis ilmiah dengan melibatkan teman sejawat, kepala sekolah, pihak-pihak terkait sebagai studi empiris serta melakukan studi literatur sebagai pendekatan teoretis sebagai studi pendahuluan dalam rangka mencari solusi atas permasalahan yang dihadapi. Berdasarkan observasi awal yang dilakukan terhadap mitra sebagai langkah awal kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM), ditemukan beberapa permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh guru, seperti kurangnya pemahaman guru terhadap penyusunan karya tulis ilmiah. Metode Pelaksanaan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat di lingkup Yayasan Perguruan Islam Bontote'ne dilakukan dengan pendekatan terstruktur dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan guru pada sekolah mitra. Pengabdian yang dikemas dalam bentuk Pelatihan Penulisan Karya Ilmiah untuk Guru. Pendekatan tersebut berupa observasi awal terhadap kebutuhan guru di sekolah mitra sehingga dapat dirumuskan Upaya solutif terhadap kebutuhan tersebut. Oleh karena itu dirumuskan langkah-langkah kegiatan yaitu audiensi; observasi awal; perumusan desain program pelatihan dan pelaksanaan program pelatihan. Tahapan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan antusiasme dari peserta kegiatan pelatihan penulisan karya tulis ilmiah. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan pada saat kegiatan, peserta menunjukkan keaktifan dalam menggali informasi dan pengetahuan terkait penulisan karya tulis ilmiah. Hal tersebut menunjukkan keinginan guru untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan pengembangan diri sebagai tenaga pendidik.
