Abstract

The goal of national education requires the optimal role of teachers as key elements in education. Therefore, teachers need to demonstrate strong performance. This study aims to identify the factors that significantly influence the improvement of teacher performance. The research employs a quantitative approach with a regression design. The study population consists of 1,820 teachers from 212 public elementary schools (SDN) in Tabalong Regency, with a sample drawn from this population for analysis. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and regression analysis. Regression analysis was utilized to examine both direct and indirect effects on teacher performance

Abstract

This research aims to examine the symbolism in Frost’s Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. It focuses on five symbols in the poem namely “woods”, “farmhouse”, “village”, “dark”, and “miles to go”. First, the symbols and the meanings are identified according to the previous studies. Second, the symbols and meanings are explored through the perspective of Dayak people in Kalimantan, Indonesia. They are then compared and analyzed. The method carried out is a qualitative approach based on the principles of Post-Structuralism. The result shows that the symbolisms in the poem are interpreted differently when they are perceived from a particular culture (Dayak culture). Previous studies mention that “woods”, for instance, symbolize beauty which can drag people away from their life purpose; while in Dayak culture, “woods” are sacred and should be protected. Therefore, the meaning of a literary work is open to cross-cultural interpretation which can provide a richer and meaningful experience for the readers. It is suggested that further studies can be conducted on how symbols in the poem are perceived in other cultures. It is possible that the symbols analyzed will be different from this study since each culture might have particular symbols that might not be found in other cultures.

Abstract

Di tengah pesatnya arus globalisasi dan kemudahan akses informasi, budaya lokal menjadi kurang mendapat perhatian dan porsi di berbagai media massa. Beberapa hal yang berpotensi menyebabkan hal ini adalah kurangnya minat maupun kemampuan individu dalam menulis artikel yang memuat informasi tentang budaya lokal, khususnya di Kota Kasongan, Kab. Katingan, Prov. Kalimantan Tengah. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penulisan konten lokal pada guru-guru di kota tersebut selaku salah satu agen dalam penyebaran informasi di masyarakat. Kegiatan yang berupa pelatihan ini akan membekali guru-guru dengan materi-materi tentang penulisan konten lokal yang nantinya dapat dipublikasikan di media massa maupun dipergunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Dengan meningkatnya kemampuan menulis, diharapkan kualitas dan kuantitas artikel yang memuat informasi tentang budaya lokal setempat semakin meningkat. Sehingga, pada akhirnya akan meningkatkan eksistensi budaya lokal di tengah era modernisasi ini.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah Usaha Nasi Campur SPL 88 untuk dapat berkembang dengan dikenal dimasyarakat dengan pemanfaatan digital marketing. Namun, sangat disayangkan bahwa masih banyak masyarakat Indonesia terutama pihak UMKM yang memiliki pengetahuan sangat minim mengenai strategi ini dalam melakukan pemasaran usahanya, sehingga usaha yang dijalankan tidak bisa menjangkau masyarakat luas. Salah satu UMKM yang belum mengaplikasikan pemasaran secara digital adalah Usaha Nasi Campur SPL 88 yang terletak di Kedai Kopi 97, kota Batam. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah diterapkannya digital marketing menggunakan platform Instagram yang terhadap UMKM tersebut memberikan dampak positif pada pihak UMKM.

Abstract

Teacher performance is a crucial element in the quality of education, influenced by various factors such as leadership style, work environment, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), interpersonal communication, and organizational commitment. These factors can interact and affect how teachers carry out their duties in the educational environment. However, the limited research that simultaneously evaluates the impact of these factors on teacher performance in a single region serves as an important basis for this study. The aim of this study is to comprehensively evaluate how leadership style, work environment, organizational citizenship behavior, interpersonal communication, and organizational commitment affect teacher performance. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of these factors into a single analysis, providing a broader understanding of teacher performance in Tabalong District. This study employs a quantitative approach with regression analysis to test the existing hypotheses. The results show that all the factors tested have a significant effect on teacher performance, with organizational commitment playing an important role in improving performance. These findings suggest that improving these factors can enhance educational quality through the improvement of teacher performance. In conclusion, this study emphasizes that to improve the quality of education, it is essential to address and strengthen the factors influencing teacher performance, particularly by enhancing organizational commitment, which has been shown to significantly impact teacher performance.

Abstract

Commercially competitive in the global market, bio-briquettes derived from coconut shell charcoal have been extensively manufactured and meet all standard prerequisites. Bio-briquettes sourced from different biomass materials, with calorific values that meet the criteria, have not entered commercial production. Currently, they remain in the research and development phase. One of the reasons is the suboptimal durability value of the bio-briquettes, causing the products to easily break during distribution and usage. This research aims to determine the optimal amount of binder in the production of bio-briquettes from cassava peels. This is because cassava peels have calorific values that meet the requirements and have a huge potential for commercial-scale production. This study utilizes cassava peel charcoal as the raw material mixed with tapioca binder in variations of 9%, 10%, 11%, 12%, and 13% of the cassava peel charcoal mass. The optimal percentage of tapioca binder mass was found at 9% with a durability value of 99.54%, density 1 g/cm3 and water content 5.39%.

Abstract

Indonesia as an agricultural country, produces many agricultural products. In addition to agricultural products, agricultural waste is also generated throughout the year. This agricultural waste is still underutilized. One of the efforts to utilize agricultural waste is to process agricultural waste into bioadsorbent. This study aims to study the effect of the mass of bioadsorbent from agricultural waste, namely corn husks on reducing levels of free fatty acids (FFA), peroxide value (PV) and color in crude palm oil (CPO). Clean corn husks are then mashed, after which it is reacted with NaOH to remove the lignin content and neutralized with HCl, so that a bioadsorbent is obtained. Crude palm oil is heated to 80 oC, then mixed with 2 to 10 grams of bioadsorbent according to the variables used. The mixture was stirred at 500 rpm for one hour, and the temperature was maintained at 80 oC. After the adsorption process is complete, the mixture is filtered using a vacuum pump and the filtrate is taken. The filtrate obtained was analyzed for free fatty acid content, peroxide value and color. The research resulted in the more mass of bioadsorbent used, the greater the decrease in free fatty acid levels, peroxide value and color. Using 10 g of bioadsorbent can reduce FFA levels by 41.29%, reduce PV values by 54.96% and reduce color absorbance by 29.06%.

Abstract

Penjaminan mutu pendidikan merupakan proses yang sistematis untuk memastikan bahwa sekolah memenuhi standar kualitas yang ditetapkan. erlunya model penjaminan mutu yang dapat mengakomodasi keterlibatan pemangku kepentingan, keseimbangan antara efisiensi manajemen dan kualitas pembelajaran, serta adopsi standar internasiona. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun model penjaminan mutu sekolah menggunakan tinjauan kritis teoritis hasil hasil kajian yang telah dipublikasikan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui kajian jurnal yang memenuhi kriteria relevansi, publikasi terbaru, dan indeksasi di jurnal bereputasi. Analisis dilakukan secara tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola dan elemen kunci dalam penjaminan mutu sekolah. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan pemangku kepentingan, keseimbangan antara efisiensi manajemen dan kualitas pembelajaran, serta adopsi standar internasional seperti Proses Bologna dapat meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di sekolah. Selain itu, evaluasi berkelanjutan dan peningkatan kompetensi guru merupakan komponen penting dalam model penjaminan mutu yang efektif. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penjaminan mutu sekolah harus berbasis pada evaluasi sistematis dan keterlibatan aktif seluruh pihak terkait. Model ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi sekolah untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan secara menyeluruh dan berkelanjutan, sejalan dengan tuntutan globalisasi dan kebijakan nasional.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of community empowerment in organizing education at SD Plus and SD Hasbunallah, Murung Pudak District, Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that community participation in school activities, both financially and materially, greatly influences the development of educational facilities and programs. The community contributes to mutual cooperation activities, procurement of learning tools, and support in religious activities. Although there are challenges such as the burden of financial contributions and lack of involvement in decision-making, the potential for community support remains a valuable asset. This study recommends improving communication and transparency, as well as educational programs to strengthen cooperation between schools and the community. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan di SD Plus dan SD Hasbunallah, Kecamatan Murung Pudak, Kabupaten Tabalong, Kalimantan Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi masyarakat dalam kegiatan sekolah, baik secara finansial maupun material, sangat berpengaruh terhadap pengembangan fasilitas dan program pendidikan. Masyarakat berkontribusi dalam kegiatan gotong royong, pengadaan alat belajar, dan dukungan dalam kegiatan keagamaan. Meskipun terdapat tantangan seperti beban kontribusi finansial dan kurangnya keterlibatan dalam pengambilan keputusan, potensi dukungan masyarakat tetap menjadi aset yang berharga. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan komunikasi dan transparansi, serta program edukasi untuk memperkuat kerjasama antara sekolah dan masyarakat.
