Abstract

A study using Research and Development design was conducted to produce a model of Biology hand book writing which is ecology and local oriented as an effort to increase students’ care toward environment. The background of this research is the reality which is  still going on untill now that the awareness and care of the school graduatee toward the environement safety is still low. Besides, hard science instructional at school could not affect or intervene the graduatee’s characteristics, for instance in keeping the environment awareness. Meanwhile, there are many concepts of environment which had been taught through hard science especially biology, so in the researcher’s point of view, biology subject has strategic role to prevent or mitigate the environment disaster caused by human activities. The model was validated at beach  ecosystem. The analysis of the research result includes three aspects, namely: 1) text comprehension, 2) environment care attitude, and 3) handbook readibility. Based on the result of beach ecosystem data analysis, it was found that (1) there was a significant difference between experimental class and control class in the beach ecosystem which is shown by tcalculation > ttable (7.429 > 2.00); (2) there was strong correlation between students’ comprehension and attitude which is shown by coeficient correlation (r) 0.634. While the text readability test (Cloze test) shown  the readability of beach ecosystem text is 57,57% (moderate). Therefore, it can be concluded that all of the texts in the developed book are fit and proper for SMA students of grade X. Kata kunci:  Penulisan buku ajar, orientasi ekologi dan lokal, kepedulian terhadap  lingkungan.

Abstract

The aim of the research to implement of worksheet word square with laboratory practice are to improve  study result of  student in grade VIII at MTs Al-Asror  year education  2011/2012 the subject matter  living systems of plants. The method in this research  was classroom  action research and  the subjeck of research is student at VIII MTS Al-Asror. The research indicated that more than 75 % student can finish the examinition. The data gaided by observation and  tes technique, and then  analysed  by using discriptif data analysed technique. The result of the analysis, showed  that  aim of worksheet word square with laboratory practice  are to increase the study result of student. Kata Kunci: model word square, praktik laboratorium, hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Student understanding is  how a student is able to maintain, differentiated, assumed, explains, and What has been received. Understanding rather than merely thinking activities, but did experience the mind (experience life). The things to do  to achieve student understanding  is by ways student actively exploring learn directly.   Approach to natural roaming  around alternative in learning biology. In this approach, student are required actively exploring, learning envirotment as a source of biology, will be able to increase student’s understanding. Conclusions of this study, learning opproach to natural roaming  around with experimental methods can increase student’s understanding in SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Metro school year 2011/2012 of pre-PTK to the cycle 2 be 54% and suggestion that research can be used increase the student’s understanding.Kata Kunci: Jelajah Alam Sekitar, Aktivitas Belajar, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to see the effect of integrated approaches and creative thinking on students' scientific communication skills. The expected benefits of this study are to get creative thinking and have scientific communication skills for students in learning. The design of this study was pre-experimental with a literature review. Research results obtained based on literature review include: Learning with an integrated approach can improve students' creative thinking skills; Creative thinking skills can be improved by brainstorming and guided inquiry learning and can facilitate students in scientific communication, thus it is concluded that learning with an integrated approach can develop students' scientific communication skills.

Abstract

Abstrak: Conservation efforts undertaken by the Sriminosari community have oncreased in the mangrove forest area from 1995 to the present. The need for sustainable conservation efforts to develop the potential of existing resources in mangrove forest. Human and nature live side by side and can not separated so that humant as creatyres that interact with mangrove forests directly in the effort of utilization should have useful knowledge to improve capabilities. This study will discuss the efforts that can be made by the Sriminosari villagers in the preservation of mangrove forests. An extensice literature review was undertaken to abtain conslusions about efforts that could be made to conserve forests. Implecations that can help further research will be discussed in this journal.

Abstract

Abstract: Ruminant feed consists of banana stems and rice bran as a concentrate. Banana stems containnutrients including dry matter (BK) 9.8%, total ash 18.4%, crude fat (LK) 3.2%, crude fiber (SK) 31.7%,and crude protein (PK) 8 8%. And rice bran contains protein 13.11 - 17.19 percent, fat 2.52 - 5.05 percent,carbohydrates 67.58 - 72.74 percent, and crude fiber 370.91 - 387.3 calories and rich in vitamin B,especially vitamin B1 (thiamin).The fermentation process uses a konsorsia bacteria indigen LCN so that thefeed is more easily absorbed by ruminant.

Abstract

In learning mathematics so far, low-vision students only use ordinary braille books. The use of this braille book cannot help students to know the real shape of the object being studied. One form of updating teaching materials for low-vision students is the use of 3D media contained in teaching materials. The objectives of this service activity are: (1) Provide knowledge about teaching materials needed for low vision students, (2) Provide assistance to teachers at SLB Negeri Metro in using 3D Braille mathematics teaching materials, and (3) Provide knowledge of making 3D media on teaching materials braille math. The form of activity provided in this activity is in the form of assistance in the use of 3D Braille mathematics teaching materials. From this activity, the teacher gains knowledge about: (1) how to prepare teaching materials, (2) preparation of learning tools, (3) the use of mathematics teaching materials, and (4) the use of 3D braille mathematics teaching materials. The understanding obtained by the teacher after participating in this service activity was: (1) 100% for the preparation of teaching materials and the use of 3D Braille mathematics teaching materials, (2) 96% for the preparation of learning tools and the use of mathematics teaching materials. Before the activity was held, the teacher only knew about the usual use of braille teaching materials and had some obstacles in compiling independent teaching materials. After this activity, the teacher became more aware of how to use Braille mathematics teaching materials, which could be accompanied by 3D media to make it easier for low-vision students to understand. In addition, teachers also understand more about how to compile teaching materials and learning tools.Keywords: accompaniment; braille;teaching materialAbstrakDalam pembelajaran matematika selama ini, siswa low vision hanya menggunakan buku braille biasa. Penggunaan buku braille ini tidak dapat membantu siswa untuk mengetahui bentuk nyata dari benda yang dipelajari. Salah satu bentuk pembaruan bahan ajar bagi siswa low vision adalah penggunaan media 3D yang terdapat pada bahan ajar. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah: (1) Memberikan pengetahuan tentang bahan ajar yang dibutuhkan bagi siswa low vision, (2) Memberikan pendampingan guru di SLB Negeri Metro dalam menggunakan bahan ajar matematika braille 3D, (3) Memberikan pengetahuan pembuatan media 3D pada bahan ajar matematika braille. Bentuk kegiatan yang diberikan dalam kegiatan ini berupa pendampingan penggunaan bahan ajar matematika braille 3D. Dari kegiatan ini guru memperoleh pengetahuan tentang : (1) cara penyusunan bahan ajar, (2) penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran, (3) penggunaan bahan ajar matematika, (4) penggunaan bahan ajar matematika braille 3D. Pemahaman yang diperoleh guru setelah mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian ini sebesar : (1) 100 % untuk materi penyusunan bahan ajar dan penggunaan bahan ajar matematika braille 3D, (2) 96% untuk materi penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran dan penggunaan bahan ajar matematika. Sebelum diadakan kegiatan, guru hanya mengetahui penggunaan bahan ajar braille secara biasa dan memiliki beberapa hambatan dalam menyusun bahan ajar mandiri. Setelah adanya kegiatan ini, guru menjadi lebih mengetahui dalam menggunakan bahan ajar matematika braille dapat disertai media 3D agar lebih mudah dipahami oleh siswa low vision. Selain itu, guru juga lebih memahami tentang cara menyusun bahan ajar dan perangkat pembelajaran.DOI: https://doi.org/10.23960/rp/v2i1.hal.87-93
