Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to address the gap in human resource management within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) by developing a quality assurance model based on supply and demand estimation and resourcing strategy. It evaluates the model's effectiveness and its potential to modernize pesantren while preserving their core values.Method – This study Utilizing a research and development (R&D) approach, this study combines qualitative and quantitative methods to develop and test the model. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and observations, analyzed using descriptive statistics and interval calculations to measure effectiveness.Findings – This study demonstrates that the human resource quality assurance model based on supply and demand estimation at Pondok Pesantren Al Jauhar is effective in improving HR quality, relevant, and flexible in addressing modernization challenges without neglecting traditional pesantren values. Research Implications – This study implies the need for reorienting human resource development, enhancing motivation, integrating technology into management, and conducting continuous evaluations.

Abstract

Moral education plays a significant role in the field of education. Ibn Miskawaih, a Muslim philosopher who concentrated on ethical philosophy, provided an essential foundation for moral development. This article explores Ibn Miskawaih’s biography and works, his thoughts on the philosophy of moral education, and their relevance to contemporary Islamic education. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research. The primary source is the translated version of Ibn Miskawaih’s Tahdzib al-Akhlaq, while secondary sources include relevant books and scholarly journals. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using inductive methods. Ibn Miskawaih argued that the essence of human goodness lies in the ability to think, which distinguishes humans from other creatures. The main goal of moral education is to elevate humans from a despicable state to noble character. The proposed methods include habituating students to love religious values, perform religious obligations, control worldly desires, and develop social awareness. Ibn Miskawaih also permitted light punishment as a means of discipline. His thoughts remain relevant to modern education, though their application in Indonesia faces dilemmas due to the provisions of Law No. 23 of 2002 on Child Protection. [Pendidikan akhlak memiliki peranan penting dalam dunia pendidikan. Ibnu Miskawaih, seorang filsuf Muslim yang berfokus pada filsafat etika, telah meletakkan dasar dalam proses pembinaan akhlak. Artikel ini menguraikan biografi singkat dan karya-karya Ibnu Miskawaih, pemikirannya mengenai filsafat pendidikan akhlak, serta relevansinya dengan pendidikan Islam kontemporer. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka (library research). Sumber primer penelitian adalah terjemahan kitab Tahdzib al-Akhlaq karya Ibnu Miskawaih, sedangkan sumber sekunder diperoleh dari buku dan jurnal ilmiah terkait. Data dikumpulkan melalui metode dokumentasi dan dianalisis dengan teknik induktif. Menurut Ibnu Miskawaih, esensi kebaikan manusia terletak pada kemampuannya berpikir, karena berpikir merupakan ciri khas manusia yang membedakannya dari makhluk lain. Tujuan utama pendidikan akhlak adalah mengangkat manusia dari derajat tercela menuju kesempurnaan akhlak. Metode yang diajukan meliputi: membiasakan murid mencintai kemuliaan agama, melaksanakan kewajiban syariat, mengendalikan hawa nafsu duniawi, serta menumbuhkan kepedulian sosial. Ibnu Miskawaih juga memperbolehkan bentuk hukuman ringan sebagai sarana mendisiplinkan murid. Pemikirannya tetap relevan dengan dunia pendidikan kontemporer, meskipun penerapannya di Indonesia menghadapi dilema akibat benturan dengan Undang-Undang Nomor 23 Tahun 2002 tentang Perlindungan Anak.]

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara kritis pemikiran Fazlur Rahman mengenai pendidikan Islam, khususnya dalam pendekatan pragmatis-instrumental, serta menganalisis relevansinya terhadap sistem pendidikan Islam kontemporer. Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam tulisan ini adalah stagnasi dalam sistem pendidikan Islam tradisional yang ditandai dengan dikotomi antara ilmu agama dan ilmu dunia, pendekatan literalistik, serta minimnya pengembangan nalar kritis dalam proses belajar-mengajar. Artikel ini disusun menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka (library research). Data dikumpulkan melalui telaah terhadap karya-karya utama Fazlur Rahman seperti Islam and Modernity, Major Themes of the Qur’an, serta berbagai artikel akademik dan kajian sekunder yang relevan. Analisis dilakukan dengan metode analisis isi (content analysis) terhadap teks dan pemikiran Rahman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Fazlur Rahman menawarkan paradigma pendidikan Islam yang integratif, dinamis, dan kontekstual. Ia menolak pemisahan antara ilmu agama dan ilmu dunia, serta mengusulkan pendekatan hermeneutik historis melalui metode “double movement” untuk menafsirkan ajaran Islam secara relevan dengan tantangan zaman. Pendidikan, menurut Rahman, harus menjadi alat transformasi sosial yang membentuk intelektualisme Islam yang kritis dan etis, bukan sekadar pewarisan teks klasik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran Fazlur Rahman dapat dijadikan dasar konseptual dan praktis untuk merancang sistem pendidikan Islam yang lebih adaptif dan transformatif di era modern.

Abstract

AbstrakWanita karier memiliki banyak peran, anatara lain sebagai ibu rumah tangga, sebagai pendidik anak-anaknya,  dan sebagai pencari nafkah. Bahkan dalam pendidikan religiusitas anak, ibu lebih dominan daripada peran ayah. Penelitian ini akan menjawab   pola  asuh  yang  Ibu-ibu Pekerja Pabrik (IiPP) lakukan dalam membina dan mendidik religiusitas  anak; dimensi religiusitas apa yang IiPP bina,  dan faktor-faktor yang terlibat dalam pembinaan religiusitas anak. Jenis penelitian ini kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenolgi dan naturalistik. Penentuan subyek dengan metode  purposive  dan snowball sampling.  Pengumpulan data mengunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisisnya menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman dengan langkah-langkah; koleksi data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi/penyimpulan data. Hasil penelitiannya IiPP menggunakan pola asuh tipe permisif dan authoritative. Dimensi religiusitas yang IiPP lakukan terbatas pada tiga dimenasi yakni  ritual/peribadatan, ideologi/keyakinan, dan eksperiensial/pengalaman. Faktor pendukung suksesnya IiPP menerapkan pola asuh dalam membina religiusitas anak adalah keluarga dekat dan keluarga jauh, mertua, pengelola TPA, dan lingkungan masyarakat yang kondusif. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya ialah peran ganda IiPP, anak-anak bermain gadget tanpa batas waktu, dan IiPP sendiei kurang pengetahuan agamanya.Kata kunci: Ibu-ibu pekerja pabrik, religusitas, pola asuh, dan dimensi keagamaan AbstractCareer women have many roles, among others as housewives, as educators of their children, and as breadwinners. Even in a child's religious education, the mother is more dominant than the role of the father. This research will answer the parenting that Factory Workers Mothers (IiPP) do in fostering and educating child religiosity; what dimensions of religiosity iiPP fosters, and the factors involved in fostering child religiosity. This type of research is qualitative with phenomenology and a naturalistic approach.  Determination of subyek by purposive method and snowball sampling. Data collection uses observations, interviews, and documentation. The analysis technique uses  Miles and Huberman models with steps; data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification/inference. The results of his research IiPP  used permissive and authoritative type parenting. The dimensions of religiosity that iiPP does are limited to three dimensions, namely ritual/worship, ideology/belief, and experiential / experience. Factors supporting the success of IiPP implementing parenting in fostering child religiosity are immediate families and distant families, in-laws, landfill managers, and a conducive community environment. While the inhibiting factor is the dual role of IiPP, children play gadgets indefinitely, and IiPP sender lacks religious knowledge.Keywords: Factory worker mothers, religiosity, parenting, and religious dimensions

Abstract

Contemporary Islamic religious education faces a crisis of fragmentation in student character development, where religious knowledge is not fully actualized in behavior (knowing-doing gap). This research analyzes the concept of Muslim personality formation according to Ibn Miskawayh as an integrative solution to this problem. Through a qualitative approach with in-depth library research, this study examines the balance of three soul powers (Quwwah al-Nāṭiqah, Quwwah al-Ghaḍabiyyah, Quwwah al-Shahwiyyah) within Miskawayh's ethical framework. Findings demonstrate that Miskawayh conceptualizes personality formation as an ongoing pedagogical process, not an instantaneous gift. Miskawayh's three-soul-power balance model offers an integrative solution to the fragmentation of intellectual (IQ), emotional (EQ), and spiritual (SQ) intelligence development. The relevance of Miskawayh's thought to contemporary Islamic education lies in three dimensions: (1) conceptual, providing philosophical foundation to overcome knowing-doing gap; (2) methodological, integrating simultaneous IQ-EQ-SQ development; (3) practical, aligned with the spirit of the Independent Learning curriculum and the goal of forming insan kamil (the complete human). This research contributes to reconstructing classical Islamic ethics as an applicable framework relevant to modern educational challenges, opening opportunities for developing holistic and sustainable Islamic religious education curriculum.

Abstract

The imposition of sanctions on students is an integral part of the educational system, as not all students are able to maintain discipline and avoid violating the established norms. However, in practice, there are numerous cases of violations that harm students, particularly in the form of physical violence, which can lead to psychological trauma and even physical injury. On the other hand, when such cases become widespread, educators are faced with a moral dilemma: whether to allow students' indiscipline to persist or to impose sanctions for the violations they have committed. In such situations, a solution is needed so that both parties can receive their rights in a proportional manner. One proposed solution is the implementation of the concept of Uqubah Madrasiyyah (school sanctions) as explained by M. Athiyyah al-Abrasyi. This study is a literature review focusing on M. Athiyyah’s ideas in the field of Islamic education, particularly regarding the imposition of school sanctions on students. The results of this study indicate that M. Athiyyah al-Abrasyi’s thoughts on this matter are based on three key aspects: purpose, principles, and the technical application of sanctions on students. These three aspects are highly relevant to the implementation of contemporary Islamic education, ensuring that students are protected while educators retain the right to administer sanctions appropriately.

Abstract

In spite of positive impact in it, authoritarian nursery is essential to be studied because of its negative effect to children This article aims to determine the cause of authoritarian parenting in early childhood in Sleman district. This research was qualitative research with a case study approach. It is a single case study with one research subject. This research is not intended to generalize, but shows the importance of phenomena encountered in other families as well. One case in Sleman district that has implemented authoritarian parenting to her children was showed by tight rules, not involvement of the children to agree with the parents and verbal abuse in harsh words and yelling’s as the punishment. The research result showed that the leading cause of Mrs R committed authoritarian parenting toward her children is caused by several reasons parenting style from the elders who are authoritarian when instilling religious education, the circumstance outside the home that caused parents to be more protective toward their children, the demands of religion-based schools make the parents more rigid to educate their children, and the influence of parents’ diversity background adhered to the particular tenet.
