Abstract

Ranupani Village is administratively located in Senduro District, Lumajang Regency, East Java Province. The naming of Ranupani Village refers to a mountain lake that is very famous among climbers of Mount Semeru, namely Ranu Pani. In addition, there are also two mountain lakes located close to the village area, namely Ranu Regulo and Ranu Kumbolo. Most of the Ranupani Village area is part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park conservation area (TNBTS) so that the landscape condition of Ranupani Village is still maintained. In addition, Ranupani Village is 1 of 10 priority tourism villages developed by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries. As a priority tourist destination, Ranupani Village presents beautiful landscapes and has the potential for a diversity of beliefs (religions) that have been preserved since ancient times. The purpose of this community service activity is to map the natural and social potential of Ranupani Tourism Village to develop community-based tourism. Based on the results of observations and focus group discussions, it was found that the need for strategic efforts that can encourage the participation of residents so that Ranupani Village tourism does not only rely on natural potential but also introduces local wisdom, especially in environmental management and Tengger Tribe customs. In addition, the culinary and souvenir sectors are potentials that can be optimized as the carrying capacity of natural tourism owned by Ranupani Village. Finally, a grand design for developing local community-based tourism is needed by prioritizing cross-sectoral communication and coordination, especially local tourism actors who are the last guard for the future of Ranupani Village.

Abstract

Dalam sebuah masyarakat terutama masyarakat Indonesia, kita dihadapkan dengan konsekuensi adanya beberapa konflik yang melibatkan perselisihan ras, suku, bahkan agama. Seperti sebuah desa di Jember, Kecamatan Umbulsari, yang bernama desa Sukoreno. Untuk menghindari hal tersebut toleransi diagung-agungkan untuk disosialisasikan dan diinternalisasikan di setiap anggota masyarakat baik dari tingkat sekolah sampai pada aktivitas lainnya di Desa. Adanya sebuah perayaan besar dimanfaatkan oleh berbagai pihak sebagai ajang mempererat tali persaudaraan antar warga desa. Setiap adanya event, selalu ada tangan-tangan lain yang ikut membantu dikarenakan nilai luhur yang mengakar akan sebuah rasa gotong royong khas masyarakat desa, apapun agamnya, hal ini juga yang ingin dipertahankan oleh beberapa pihak untuk memelihara desa dengan pendapukkan desa Pancasila. Tulisan ini dibuat untuk mengetahui penyebab sebuah kebudayaan bisa diselenggarakan dalam keberagaman umat dan menjadikannya faktor pendorong toleransi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara wawancara dan merangkum beberapa informasi dari informan yang layak dijadiakn bahasan sesuai tema, secara purposive. Karena dengan adanya pendidikan pembiasaan local wisdom akan tetap terjaga. Bangsa Indonesia berkomiten bahwasannya negara multikultur dan multi agama ini perlu adanya komitmen yang kuat akan toleransi dan integrasi dalam pengemasannya. Kebiasaan, apresiasi, dan partisipasi masyaraat inilah yang nantinya akan membentuk kerukunan sesuai kebiasaan uri-uri budaya yang dilakukanya guna mempersatukan perbedaan akan kesadaran kognitif yang terintegrasi.

Abstract

Saat ini, media sosial semakin masif penggunaanya di dunia atau bahkan di Indonesia. Sayangnya, peningkatan penggunaan internet dan media sosial juga diiringi dengan kenaikan penyebaran hoax di media sosial. Salah satu media sosial yang paling sering dijadikan penyebaran informasi hoax adalah WhatsApp group. Sehingga setiap pengguna dapat langsung mengirimkan pesan yang diterima tanpa melakukan crosschek terlebih dahulu. Lebih parah, tokoh agama ikut menjadi penyumbang kenaikan angka penyebaran informasi hoax. Seorang tokoh agama layaknya pemimpin bagi umatnya, sehingga apapun yang dilakukan oleh pemimpinnya, sedikit banyak akan mempengaruhi masyarakat yang ada. Dalam masyarakat desa, seorang tokoh agama dianggap suci dan sangat dihormati termasuk semua anggota keluarganya. Max Weber menjelaskan beberapa konsep mengenai kepemimpinan yang diuraikan dalam teori dominasi. Diantaranya adalah kepemimpinan tradisional dan karismatik yang kerap dijumpai di masyarakat pedesaan. Tanggung jawab untuk menjadi contoh dan panutan bagi sekitar mereka, menuntut mereka untuk selalu berusaha berperilaku sesusai norma. Sayangnya, hal itu belum bisa diimbangi dengan kemampuan mencerna informasi dari media sosial.

Abstract

The Erau ceremony is one of the traditional Kutai Kartanegara ceremonies that are sacred and highly respected by the Tenggarong people. In the Erau Ceremony, there are various processes and activities in it, from establishing ayu to Belimbur. Belimbur is an activity that implies purifying oneself by watering fellow communities using mahakam river water. This study focuses on the attitudes of the Tenggarong community in dealing with a group of people who do not follow the rules during Belimbur as well as the ways of the community in preserving Belimbur activities. Because it makes people restless and afraid to take part in Belimbur events. With the aim of informing the public about the involvement of a religion and tradition which will then form a religious harmony in maintaining the Belimbur tradition in the Erau ceremony. The method used in this research is qualitative to explain the process of Belimbur activities, the form of commotion and the solidarity of the religious community in preserving Belimbur activities studied with Emile Durkheim's solidarity theory. This social solidarity which is formed in the community of religious communities in preserving the activities of Belimbur is fulfilled by the element of belief and understanding of the meaning contained in Belimbur activities and the purpose of carrying out Belimbur. Here the Sultan or Prince Mahkota as a charismatic traditional leader certainly has rules that need to be followed by his community. Upacara Erau adalah salah satu upacara adat Kutai Kartanegara yang sakral dan sangat dihormati oleh masyarakat Tenggarong. Dalam Upacara Erau terdapat rangakain proses dan kegiatan didalamnya mulai dari mendirikan ayu hingga Belimbur. Belimbur adalah salah satu kegiatan yang mengandung makna mensucikan diri dengan menyiram sesama masyarakat dengan menggunakan air sungai mahakam. Penelitian ini berfokus pada sikap masyarakat Tenggarong dalam mengghadapi sekelompok oknum yang tidak mengikuti aturan saat Belimbur serta cara masyarakat dalam melestarikan kegiatan Belimbur. Karena membuat masyarakat resah dan takut untuk mengikuti acara Belimbur. Dengan tujuan menginformasikan kepada masyaraat tentang keterlibatan sebuah agama dan tradisi yang kemudian akan membentuk sebuah kerukunan umat beragama dalam menjaga tradisi Belimbur dalam upacara Erau. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif untuk menjelaskan tentang proses kegiatan Belimbur, betuk keributan serta solidaritas masyarakat umat beragama dalam melestarikan kegiatan Belimbur yang dikaji dengan teori solidaritas Emile Durkheim. Solidaritas sosial ini yang terebtuk pada masyarakat umat beragama dalam melestarikan kegaiatan Belimbur dipenagurhi oleh adanya unsur kepecayaan dan paham mengenai makna yang terkandung dalam kegitan Belimbur dan tujuan dari di laksanakannya Belimbur. Disini Sultan atau Putera Mahkota sebagai pemimpin adat yang berkharisma tentu memiliki aturan-aturan yang perlu dikuti oleh mayarakatnya.

Abstract

The topic of the problem in this research is that there are not a few couples whose relationships are in different schools even though they are in the same Islamic religion. This study aims to analyze what conflicts will occur in a marriage relationship with different streams. So, in this study, the researcher wants to use the conflict theory according to Lewis A. Coser as a knife of analysis. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach, namely the process of exploring and understanding the meaning of individual and group behavior, describing social problems or humanitarian problems. Meanwhile, the type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The sample used was 3 married couples with different sects and 2 unmarried couples, but dating people from different sects. The result of this research is that conflicts can occur between partners, such as forcing them to enter into one of the pairs of streams and it can also occur between families such as damage to the relationship between parents and children. Topik Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah tak sedikit jumlah pasangan yang menjalin hubungannya berada dalam perbedaan aliran meskipun dalam agama islam yang sama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konflik-konflik apa sajakah yang akan terjadi pada hubungan pernikahan berbeda aliran. Sehingga, dalam penelitian ini peneliti ingin menggunakan teori Konflik menurut Lewis A. Coser sebagai pisau analisisnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Pendekatan Kualitatif yaitu proses eksplorasi dan memahami makna perilaku individu dan kelompok, menggambarkan masalah sosial atau masalah kemanusiaan. Sedangkan, jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 3 orang pasangan yang sudah menikah dengan berbeda aliran dan 2 orang yang belum menikah, namun berpacaran dengan orang yang berbeda aliran. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah konflik bisa terjadi antar pasangan seperti pemaksaan untuk masuk kedalam salah satu aliran pasangan dan juga bisa terjadi antar keluarga seperti rusaknya hubungan antara orang tua dengan anak.

Abstract

The last decade of 2019, the world was in an uproar with the emergence of the corona virus disease (Covid-19) outbreak which first appeared in the city of Wuhan, China and spread throughout all countries including Indonesia. Covid-19 has had a significant impact in terms of socio-cultural and economic aspects. This study aims to describe the impact of Covid-19 which has contributed to the social transformation of the people of Pancasila Village, Sukoreno in maintaining the stability of government regulations against Covid-19. This research uses qualitative methods by collecting data through interviews and observations. Interviews were conducted with the village government, religious leaders, and the people of Pancasila Village, Sukoreno. The data analysis technique used an interactive model. The results showed that the 'pagebluk' paradigm is still strongly attached to rural communities in responding to the Covid-19 virus. Pagebluk is an assumption that is believed by the community in the form of "balak" or disease. This disease is believed to provide a deterrent effect to the community because they have neglected to carry out the orders and traditions in the Pancasila Village area, Sukoreno. The existence of Pagebluk causes social and cultural transformation in the local community. Various policies, regulations and agreements related to the handling of Covid-19 are relevant to changes in the socio-religious routine in society. The impact of Covid-19 is used as a strengthening of the relationships that are built in the community in dealing with Covid-19 by using the cultural basis and local wisdom of each religion and belief. The cultural-religious basis is the main aspect of carrying out social transformation by collaborating together across religions as a form of integrity in facing Covid-19. In addition, social reality confirms that the village level FKUB (Religious Forum for Religious People) can optimize the value of mutual cooperation in order to respond to the batara times that caused riots in a religious plural society. Dekade terakhir tahun 2019, dunia di gemparkan dengan munculnya wabah corona virus disease (Covid-19) yang kali pertama muncul di Kota Wuhan, Cina dan menyebar ke seluruh negara termasuk Indonesia. Covid-19 menimbulkan dampak signifikan dalam aspek, sosial-budaya, dan ekonomi. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dampak Covid-19 yang berkontribusi terhadap transformasi sosial masyarakat Desa Pancasila, Sukoreno dalam menjaga kestabilitasan peraturan pemerintahan melawan Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Wawancara dilakukan dengan pemerintah desa, tokoh agama, serta masyarakat Desa Pancasila, Sukoreno. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa paradigm ‘pagebluk’ masih melekat kuat terhadap masyarakat desa dalam menyikapi virus Covid-19. Pagebluk merupakan suatu asumsi yang diyakini oleh masyarakat yang berupa “balak” atau penyakit. Penyakit ini dipercaya akan memberikan suata efek jera kepada masyarakat karena telah lalai dalam menjalankan perintah dan tradisi di wilayah Desa Pancasila, Sukoreno. Adanya Pagebluk menyebabkan transformasi sosial dan budaya pada masyarakat setempat. Berbagai kebijakan, regulasi dan kesepakatan terkait penanganan Covid-19 berelevansi terhadap perubahan rutinitas sosial keagamaan di masyarakat. Dampak Covid-19 dijadikan sebagai penguat relasi yang terbangun di masyarakat dalam merentas Covid-19 dengan menggunakan basis budaya dan kearifan lokal pada masing-masing agama dan aliran kepercayaan. Basis budaya-agama menjadi aspek utama melakukan transformasi sosial dengan melakukan kolaborasi bersama lintas agama sebagai wujud integritas menghadapi Covid-19. Selain itu, realitas sosial menegaskan bahwa FKUB (Forum Keagamaan Umat Beragama) tingat desa dapat mengoptimalkan nilai kegotongroyonga guna menyikapi batara kala yang menyebabkan kerusuhan di tengah masyarakat plural beragama. Sehingga tokoh agama memiliki peran penting dalam mendisiplinkan masyarakat untu melaksanakan ritual keagamaan di Desa Pancasila, Sukoreno.

Abstract

The polemic of religious identity between “penghayat kepercayaan” (believers of indigenous religion) and followers of the official religions in Indonesia is still become a sensitive issue, which adds to the long list of marginalization of indigenous believers in Indonesia. Several forms of marginalization are: forcing to choose certain official religions in their National ID Card, the pros and cons of the burial places of the deceased indigenous believers, and restrictions on the construction of their worship places. This article aims to elaborate the dynamics of identity conflict between adherents of the Sapta Darma (one of indigenous belief) and the followers of official religions in Sukoreno Village, Jember, East Java. This study uses a qualitative approach using observation, in-depth interviews with 7 (seven) informants of Sapta Darma followers, and members of FKUB (Forum of Religious Harmony) for the data collection. The results of the study reveal that this identity polemic has made it difficult for adherents of Sapta Dharma to change their religious identity on their ID cards. As a consequence, they also have difficulty in accessing public burial places. Conflict resolution efforts are carried out through FKUB by providing socialization of knowledge on nationality and cultural perspective to the interfaith leaders. Polemik identitas agama antara penghayat kepercayaan dengan pemeluk agama resmi di Indonesia masih menjadi isu yang menambah daftar panjang marginalisasi penganut kepercayaan di Indonesia. Bentuk marginalisasi ini mengarah kepada pemaksaan pencantuman agama tertentu dalam KTP dan KK warga penghayat, pro dan kontra tempat pemakaman warga penghayat yang meninggal, dan pembatasan pembangunan rumah peribadatan bagi warga penghayat. Artikel ini bermaksud untuk mengelaborasi dinamika konflik identitas antara penghayat kepercayaan Sapta Darma dengan para pemeluk agama resmi, dengan mengambil lokasi tempat di Desa Sukoreno, Jember, Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara mendalam terhadap 7 (tujuh) informan warga penghayat Sapta Darma, dan anggota FKUB (Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama). Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa polemik identitas ini mengakibatkan warga pengahayat kesulitan dalam mengganti identitas agamanya di KTP dan KK sehingga mereka memiliki identitas ganda dan kesulitan dalam mengakses tempat pemakaman umum. Upaya resolusi konflik dilakukan melalui FKUB dengan memberikan sosialisasi wawasan kebangsaan dan pendekatan kultural dengan tokoh lintas agama.

Abstract

This article discusses the dynamics of women`s activism of Yayasan Sahabat Ibu (YSI) in empowering women in Yogyakarta. YSI was formed by woman activists who concerned to recover children and women after the earthquake in Yogyakarta through philanthropic activities. Their activism continues following some natural disasters in Yogyakarta from 2006-2012. The activists then declared themselves as non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The orientation of the YSI movement has also changing changed from charity to productive women empowerment.This orientation were caused by changes in the way activists view the problems of women in Yogyakarta. YSI then runs three programs namely the Maternity and Child Benefit Program (PROSIBU), Mandiri Empowerment Program (PRIMA) and Smart and Skilled Mother Program (PINTAR). In this paper, The dynamics of YSI is discussed in three points; first, portraits of women’s activism and philanthropy in Indonesia; second, the dynamism of YSI activism from charity toward productive empowerment; third, YSI’s efforts to escape the dependence of philanthropic or fundraising assistance from donor agencies through the development of productive economics and the establishment of savings and credit cooperatives.Artikel ini membahas dinamika aktivisme perempuan Yayasan Sahabat Ibu (YSI) dalam melakukan pemberdayaan perempuan di Yogyakarta. YSI terbentuk dari perempuan-perempuan aktivis yang tergerak untuk melakukan recovery terhadap anak-anak dan perempuan pasca gempa bumi di Yogyakarta melalui kegiatan filantropis dan motivasi. Aktivisme mereka berlanjut seiring beruntunnya bencana alam di Yogyakarta dari tahun 2006-2012. Para aktivis tersebut kemudian mendeklarasikan diri sebagai Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat (LSM). Orientasi gerakan YSI pun berubah dari kegiatan karitatif menuju pemberdayaan perempuan yang produktif Perubahan orientasi tersebut disebabkan oleh perubahan cara pandang para aktivis terhadap permasalahan perempuan di Yogyakarta. YSI kemudian menjalankan tiga program yaitu Program Santunan untuk Ibu dan Anak (PROSIBU), Program Pemberdayaan Ibu Mandiri (PRIMA) dan Program Ibu Cerdas dan Terampil (PINTAR). Dalam tulisan ini, Dinamika YSI dibahas dalam tiga poin; pertama, potret aktivisme perempuan dan filantropi di Indonesia. Kedua, dinamika aktivisme YSI dari karitatif menuju pemberdayaan produktif. Ketiga, Upaya YSI untuk melepaskan diri dari ketergantungan bantuan filantropis atau fundraising dari lembaga donor melalui pengembangan ekonomi produktif dan pembentukan koperasi simpan pinjam.

Abstract

The lack of the Poor’s accessibility to the health care is still become a problem that difficult to resolved. In practice, they still face obstacles that hinder their accessibility to the health services. Some literatures suggest that the problem is caused by two factors. The first is the internal factors (come from the individuals themselves); such as the lack of people`s participation in health service activities. The second one is the external factors (come from outside the individual); such as geographical location, discrimination, and administrative procedures. However, in my opinion, these factors are not the most substantial and fundamental causes; they more like “secondary” factors. This paper assumes that the lack of poor`s accessibility to health services caused by systemic and structural factors: it is the technocratic models of the policies applied by the government (top-down) in the healthcare development that negated the potential of local communities. The Society has no chance to express their aspirations related to the good form of health care that they want. In addition, they were not involved in the process of formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of government’s health policies. The result is the implementation of health development at the practical level experienced many obstacles and unpredictable problems, including the problem of the poor`s low accessibility to the health services and so on dependency. Thus, the poor become powerless to access health services. Therefore, it needs a medium that bridges the poor’s access to the health services, which is called. These points will be discussed in this paper. The goal of the paper is to reveal the systemic and structural obstacles that obstruct the poor’s access to health services. Moreover, this paper offers an alternative solution to solve this problem by using the local institutions as a medium that facilitate the poor to access the health services.

Abstract

Government development programs often encounter obstacles, creating new problems in society. In this context, community empowerment initiatives emerged that took advantage of local institutions that were considered to have bargaining power and were effective in society. Mosques as part of social institutions are also proven capable of carrying out their social functions as facilitators of empowerment. This article aims to map how mosque-based empowerment models and their achievements so far. Through a literature review, this article sorts data from various articles published in 2010-2020 that discuss the topic of mosques and empowerment. This article shows that mosques have various social functions that can fill the void in the role of government in serving the needs of the community. Through their bargaining position, the mosque becomes an effective media or facilitator created social transformation. The models of empowerment by mosques are chosen based on the types of needs and conditions of the community including developing potential, strengthening and protecting the community. This strengthens the social function of mosques which are adaptive and responsive to social needs when government efforts are ineffective.
