Abstract

The transition of the learning process from Early Childhood Education to Primary School is a crucial period for young children. During this time, children need to be well-prepared, making it essential to have a smooth educational transition to ensure their optimal growth and development. This study aims to analyze the appropriate implementation of the ECE curriculum in supporting the PAUD-SD School transition. A qualitative method is used in this research to identify the key factors that need to be considered when implementing the ECE curriculum to support this transition. The respondents of this study include school principals and ECE teachers, with data collected through in-depth interviews to illustrate how the curriculum is implemented and the foundational skills children need to be ready for Primary School. The study's findings reveal that the curriculum's goals and content are not yet contextually aligned. Teaching methods are predominantly classical, following teacher instructions, and some lessons are still delivered using drill methods. Teachers have not utilized evaluation processes to enhance learning quality, and initial assessments are not conducted as a basis for planning instruction. Understanding the transition of PAUD SD in implementing the PAUD curriculum provides changes in the way teachers carry out the child-centered learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the social competence of early childhood education educators at An Nash Islamic Kindergarten through the in-house training (IHT) program. Social competence is one of the four basic competencies that teachers must have, which includes the ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and involve parents and the community in the learning process. Although online training has previously been conducted, the results have not shown significant improvement. Therefore, IHT is designed to provide training that is more focused and relevant to the needs of educators. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of IHT at An Nash Islamic Kindergarten successfully improved educators' understanding and social skills. The program involves three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation, which are carried out systematically to ensure the effectiveness of the training. A training needs analysis was conducted to identify gaps and find appropriate solutions. The research shows that although there is progress in educators' social competencies, continuous training is still needed to achieve optimal competencies. IHT proved to be an effective solution to improve educators' social competence in ECD settings, with an emphasis on collaboration and involvement of parents and communities. This study provides recommendations for the implementation of a more structured and sustainable training program to support teachers' professional development in the future.

Abstract

This study explores the role of parents in early childhood learning, focusing on their role as motivators, facilitators, and role models. The research uses a descriptive analysis and qualitative approach, observing events related to parents' role in learning. The study concludes that parents play a crucial role in supporting children's overall development, providing emotional support, and praise. They also act as facilitators, providing facilities and infrastructure that support the child's learning process, such as books, stationery, and other learning materials. Parents can create a pleasant learning atmosphere at home, such as providing comfortable study rooms and helping children complete assignments. They can also actively participate in activities like collecting used media and loose parts for children's learning media. Parents also serve as role models, demonstrating good behavior in social interactions, respecting others, and having good moral values. These attitudes and behaviors serve as real examples for children in everyday life. Parents can also be brought to school as resource persons to provide inspiration for children's future lives. Involving parents in the learning process can significantly improve the quality of education.

Abstract

The implementation of holistic early childhood development integration in PAUD units can also inhibit the increase in stunting rates that are so high, especially in villages that have programs to accelerate the reduction of stunting. In addition to optimizing early childhood nutrition, the village government also optimizes one village to have one PAUD teacher who is trained to increase his competence and quality of the program to accelerate the decline in stunting prevention and subscriptions. Parental education and knowledge is the main priority, which is a habit in the community when providing care and providing nutritional intake for early childhood growth and development in the home. The habit of parents in providing this parenting pattern is still a problem in using old patterns in parenting; this habit is something that often happens in each home. The village PAUD unit institution, TKIT Subulussalam, Banda Aceh City, is a research site that was researched using qualitative methods. Based on what was done in the field, the focus of research conducted by researchers turned out to be three factors that the community and parents did not know that the problem of stunting occurred in early childhood, namely: (1) unbalanced nutrition; (2) care that is not in accordance with the standards of child development achievement; and (3) personal hygiene and the environment where the child is or can be called clean and healthy living behavior

Abstract

Abstract

Character building from an early age is an important foundation in shaping a child's personality in the future. Positive discipline is one approach that emphasizes character building without punishment or threats, but with positive reinforcement and fun learning. However, learning media that support the implementation of positive discipline in early childhood environments are still limited. Therefore, this study aims to develop a story book based on positive discipline, assess the feasibility of the book, and test its effectiveness in improving the character of early childhood. This research uses the research and development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which consists of five stages: Analysis,Design,Development,Implementation, AndEvaluation. The subjects of the study were early childhood in two kindergarten institutions under the Al Furqon Islamic Foundation. Data were collected through interviews to analyze needs, questionnaires by three expert validations (materials, media and language) and observations. The material expert validator gave a total score of 77 with a percentage of 90.58%, the media expert validator gave an assessment score of 41 (percentage of 91.11%) and the language expert validator gave an assessment score of 37 (82.22%). The average percentage of validation by experts is 87.97%. From the percentage obtained, the story book based on positive discipline is in the very good qualification and is declared suitable for use. The level of effectiveness of positive discipline-based storybook products was measured through observations before and after using positive discipline-based storybook products. Before using the storybook, the average character score was 33.41. After being read the storybook, the average score was 41.8. From the results of data analysis using the test Wilcoxon Signed Rankshows that the p-value < 0.001. The p-value < 0.001 result means that there is a significant difference in the character of early childhood children before and after being read a story book based on positive discipline. Furthermore, to find out the extent of the difference in the results of character measurements before and after being read a story book, the value is calculatedeffect size rits value, which is 0.86. This showseffect sizer is high, meaning the difference between the scores before and after being read the story book is very significant. Therefore, from these results it is stated that the story books based on positive discipline produced are effective as a medium for improving the character of early childhood.

Abstract

Educators/teachers must be able to create learning activities that are not only fun and interactive, but also in accordance with children's needs. Quality learning arises from the teacher's ability to activate children's participation through appropriate learning planning. One effective strategy is to include elements of local wisdom in the plan. Although the curriculum provides great opportunities for teachers to design innovative learning, the reality in the field shows that many educators still have difficulty integrating local wisdom effectively. Many of them do not yet have guidelines such as teaching modules or Learning Implementation Plans that link to local wisdom. Therefore, this study aims to develop learning planning based on local wisdom and assess the feasibility of the development product to increase the creativity of early childhood. This study uses the research and development methodology (Research and Development Methodology) using the 4-D model design (Four D Models). This includes 4 stages, namely the definition stage (define), design (design), development (develop) and dissemination (disseminate). However, this study is limited to the development stage. The subjects of the study were PAUD Educators in Borobudur District. Data were collected through interviews to analyze needs and using questionnaires by three expert validations (material, local wisdom and PAUD practitioners). The material expert validator gave a total score of 66 in the very good category interval, the local wisdom expert validator gave a score of 51 in the good category interval. The PAUD practitioner validator gave a score of 74 in the very good category interval. From the results obtained above, it can be concluded that this lesson planning product is suitable for use after being revised based on suggestions for improvement from experts.
