Abstract

Audiovisual learning media is very important for students because it can help them understand the subject matter more easily and enjoyably. The purpose of this study is to develop Audiovisual learning media to improve student learning outcomes in the material reviewing fictional works about the Malin Kundang fairy tale and to find out the feasibility of content, feasibility of presentation, and feasibility of developing Audiovisual learning media with the Addie model. The subjects of the study were 21 students of class VIII-A of SMP Negeri 1 Namohalu Esiwa in the even semester. This type of research is development or called Research and Development (R&D) and data collection techniques are Media Practicality Questionnaires and Essay Tests. Product trial activities were carried out twice, small group trials of 6 students and large group trials of 15 students. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen from the material validation reaching 100%, language validation reaching 72% and design validation reaching 86%. Media practicality trials reaching 82.42% and media effectiveness trials reaching 74.81%. It is concluded that the development of Audiovisual learning media to improve student learning outcomes in class VIII-A of SMP Negeri 1 Namohalu esiwa is very well developed. It is hoped that further researchers will use this research as additional insight to conduct research.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Sogaeadu in identifying short story elements through the application of the SQ4R method. The background of this study is the low interest of students in reading literary works and their lack of understanding of effective reading strategies. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design which was carried out in two cycles, each including the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes, from an average of 59.2% in cycle I to 82.4% in cycle II. The percentage of student involvement also increased from 42%-52% (cycle I) to 71%-90% (cycle II), while observations of researcher performance increased from 56%-75% (cycle I) to 87.5%-100% (cycle II). These findings prove that the SQ4R reading method is effective in improving students' ability to identify short story elements through systematic and easy-to-apply steps.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of cohesion and coherence in the short story “Robohnya Surau Kami” by A.A. Navis. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with documentation and literature study techniques. The results show that cohesion is more dominant than coherence. There are 45 cohesion findings, with details of 26 grammatical cohesion (reference, substitution, ellipsis, conjunction) and 19 lexical cohesion (repetition, antonymy, collocation). Meanwhile, there are only 5 forms of coherence, namely 2 additive coherence and 3 causal coherence. This study concludes that cohesion and coherence are very important to build a cohesive and meaningful text in the short story.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Course Review Horay learning model on students' comprehension ability in response text material at SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Idanoi. This learning model is an active and fun strategy that combines game elements with learning activities, so it is expected to increase student engagement and understanding of the material. The study used a quasi-experimental approach with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research procedure included three stages, namely (1) implementing a pre-test to measure students' initial abilities, (2) providing treatment by applying the Course Review Horay model in the experimental class and conventional learning in the control class, and (3) implementing a post-test to determine the increase in students' comprehension abilities. The study population was all seventh grade students consisting of two classes, namely VII-A and VII-B, each consisting of 20 students, so that the total number of participants was 40 people. Sampling used a saturated sampling technique because the entire population was sampled. The independent variable in the study was the application of the Course Review Horay learning model, while the dependent variable was student learning outcomes in the response text material. The results of data analysis showed a significant difference between student learning outcomes in the experimental class and the control class. Based on the hypothesis test, the t-value was 12.006, with a significance (2-tailed) <0.001, which is smaller than 0.05.

Abstract

Students' ability in critical reading of news texts is still lacking in understanding and analyzing the structure and language rules in news texts. This study aims to improve the ability to read critically news texts through the Know Want Learned (KWL) method in class VII-A students of SMP Negeri 1 Bawolato. The type of research used is classroom action research (CAR) using 4 stages of implementation, namely 1) planning, 2) action, 3) observation, 4) reflection. This study was carried out in 2 cycles. Based on the implementation of the study using a test to determine the structure and language rules of news texts in cycle I, the results obtained were an average value of 41.01% with the lowest value of 25 and the highest value of 75, while in cycle II there was an increase in students' critical reading ability in determining the structure and language rules of news texts with an average value obtained of 82.12%, namely the lowest value of 62.5% and the highest value of 100%. The results of this study indicate that the Know Want Learned (KWL) method can have a positive impact on improving the ability to read critically news texts. The researcher recommends that teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Bawolato can utilize the Know Want Learned (KWL) method in Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

The ability of writing essay skills of students in grade VII The use of verbs, sentence structures, use of pronouns and prepositions in writing narrative text essays of students is still lacking. This study aims to analyze language errors in writing narrative text essays of grade VII students at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli. This study is a qualitative descriptive study. The data of this study are student worksheets in writing narrative text essays. The data sources in this study were grade VII-A students of UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli and one of the Indonesian language teachers. The research instruments were documentation in the form of photos, notes, documents, archives and pictures. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews and written tests. Data analysis techniques in this study were data reduction, categorization of language errors, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study, the errors expressed in the students' narrative text compositions were 87% errors which included: (1) inconsistent verb forms totaling 8 errors, (2) inappropriate verb selection totaling 9 errors, (3) use of passive verbs totaling 14 errors, (4) sentences that are too long and complicated totaling 15 errors, (5) subject and predicate errors increased by 9, (6) errors in the use of punctuation 8, (7) incompatibility between pronouns and their predecessors totaling 5 errors, (8) repeated use of pronouns totaling 6 errors, (9) errors in the choice of prepositions totaling 7 errors and (10) use of unnecessary prepositions totaling 6 errors. The students' ability to write narrative text compositions in the use of verbs totaling 31 errors, structure totaling 32 errors, pronoun sentences and prepositions totaling 24 errors.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop an Indonesian language learning video based on a scientific approach that is feasible, practical and effective. This type of research is development research using the ADDIE model consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The types of data obtained in this study are quantitative and qualitative data. The research instruments used in this development research are validation sheets, practicality questionnaires for learning videos, and learning outcomes tests for assessing the effectiveness of learning videos. The research results show that learning videos developed based on the Scientific approach are feasible, practical, and effective to use to meet the research's expectations or objectives. Thus, the researchers suggest, namely: 1) Indonesian language education subject teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli can use this learning video as one of the learning media to improve the quality of learning and as a learning strategy. 2) make the results of this research as additional knowledge in utilizing IT. Further researchers should use this researcher as additional insight in carrying out research.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the ability of the class X MIPA-I SMA Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli even semester consisting of 36 people to convey negotiating texts through the Articulation learning model. To achieve this goal, the researchers carried out Classroom Action Research with the implementation procedures were (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, (4) reflection. The results of data analysis from the knowledge test in the first cycle reached an average value of 61.33 with the lowest score 52 and the highest 72. The knowledge value in the second cycle reached an average value of 84.33 with the lowest score 72 and the highest score 96. The results of analysis of student activity observation data in the first cycle of the first meeting with an average of 46.79% and the second meeting 52.35% (predicate "Less") and the second cycle of the first meeting with an average value of 65.38% and the second meeting 80, 55% (predicate “Good”). The results of the researcher's observations in the first cycle of the first meeting with an average value of 50% and the second meeting of 68.75%. While the results of the researchers' observations in the second cycle at the first meeting was 81.25% and the second meeting was 93.75%. Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that: the use of the Articulation learning model can improve the ability to convey negotiating texts for students of class X MIPA-I SMA Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli. The recommended suggestions are the results of this study can be used as a guide in teaching the material to convey negotiating texts.

Abstract

Pendidikan saat ini berkembang pesat dengan pemanfaatan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK), termasuk dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Namun, di UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara, guru masih terbatas menggunakan buku teks dan PowerPoint sehingga siswa kurang tertarik dan cenderung bosan. Kondisi ini mendorong perlunya pengembangan media pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media audiovisual animasi pada materi teks berita untuk siswa kelas VII dengan metode Research and Development (R&D) menggunakan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, penerapan, dan evaluasi. Validasi ahli menunjukkan media layak digunakan dengan skor ahli materi 71%, ahli bahasa 89,1%, dan ahli desain 81%. Selain itu, kepraktisan media terbukti dari respon positif siswa pada uji coba kelompok kecil yang mencapai 89%. Efektivitas media juga terlihat dari hasil tes belajar, di mana seluruh siswa mencapai ketuntasan dengan rata-rata nilai 91. Dengan demikian, media audiovisual animasi dinyatakan layak, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran teks berita di SMP.

Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peran penting dalam mengembangkan potensi manusia, termasuk keterampilan menulis sebagai salah satu kompetensi dasar bahasa Indonesia. Namun, keterampilan menulis surat resmi siswa masih rendah akibat metode pembelajaran yang kurang bervariasi dan media yang kurang menarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model pembelajaran inovatif berbasis praktik nyata untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis surat resmi siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model ADDIE. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, angket, dan tes menulis, lalu dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi serta kualitas tulisan siswa, baik dari segi struktur, bahasa, maupun kerapihan. Dengan demikian, pengembangan model pembelajaran berbasis praktik nyata efektif meningkatkan keterampilan menulis surat resmi dan dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di sekolah.
