Abstract

This research investigated the influence of Sharia Work Culture and Work Motivation on Employee Performance within Sharia Hotels located in Pekanbaru. A quantitative methodology with an explanatory design was employed. The target population consisted of employees from several Sharia Hotels in Pekanbaru, encompassing both operational and administrative divisions. Through purposive sampling, 150 respondents who had worked for a minimum of one year and participated actively in daily hotel operations were selected. Data collection utilized a five-point Likert scale questionnaire, followed by analysis using JASP software. Classical assumption tests normality (Shapiro-Wilk), heteroscedasticity (Glejser), and multicollinearity (VIF) were performed prior to conducting simple and multiple linear regression analyses. The findings revealed that Sharia Work Culture positively and significantly influenced Employee Performance (B = 0.662; p < 0.001; R² = 0.438). Similarly, Work Motivation demonstrated a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance (B = 0.614; p < 0.001; R² = 0.377). When examined simultaneously, both variables collectively explained 61.2% of the variance in Employee Performance, with a significant combined effect (p < 0.001). These results imply that reinforcing Islamic work principles and enhancing motivational levels can substantially improve employee productivity and service quality in Sharia Hotels. This research offers practical insights for hotel management and enriches the existing literature on Islamic-based human resource management practices.

Abstract

This study implemented the modified Indonesian Community Empowerment Model (MPMI-S) to enhance Sharia financial literacy among teachers and students in Pekanbaru. The collaborative program between STIE Riau and Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Sudirman involved 30 teachers and 150 students, using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. Conducted in three learning cycles, it focused on three pillars: local capacity strengthening, collaborative mentoring, and community-driven sustainability. Results show effective synergy, with the partnership evolving from formal cooperation into an organic collaboration, supported by intensive communication and complementary roles. Integrating Sharia values into educational materials increased program relevance, which significantly improved participants' understanding and led to the formation of the independent Pekanbaru Sharia Investment Community. Thus, the MPMI-S model serves as an effective and contextual framework for sustainable Sharia financial education.

Abstract

Digitalization has transformed career development in modern work environments. This study investigates the effect of big data in human resources technology and personalized learning paths on career development, with employee engagement as a mediating variable, using freelancers on the Fiverr platform as the research context. Employing a quantitative research design and Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS, data were collected from 100 respondents recruited through active Fiverr communities on social media. The results reveal that big data in human resources technology significantly influences career development directly and indirectly through employee engagement. Similarly, personalized learning paths indirectly enhance career development by fostering higher employee engagement, although the direct effect was not significant. These findings underscore the critical role of engagement in bridging innovative human resources practices and career outcomes. The study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing empirical evidence on the interconnectedness of advanced human resources technologies, engagement, and career growth in the digital era. Practical implications highlight the need for organizations to prioritize engagement-driven strategies and integrate advanced technologies to empower employees. Future research should explore these relationships in diverse cultural and industrial contexts to enhance the generalizability of the findings.
