Abstract

Klungkung Regency is not only famous for producing songket and endek fabrics, but there are still many other Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that have been born and developed there. Semarapura Kaja Village is one of the MSME centers which certainly has a lot of potential that must be supported and developed so that it can become bigger and more independent. However, not all of these MSMEs have adequate capital, strategies, and support to be able to develop rapidly so that synergy and collaboration with the government and other parties are needed to overcome these problems. One solution that can be offered is to carry out promotional activities with interactive advertising language to attract consumer interest through online media in the hope of expanding market share and of course increasing income for MSME in Semarapura Kaja Village. This Community Partnership Program (PKM) educates and assists MSME to create good promotion and marketing strategies, either through print or online media. Assistance in optimizing the use of interactive advertising language in making online advertisements for superior products in Semarapura Kaja Village is targeting MSME who sell Balinese traditional clothing as one of the characteristics of Klungkung Regency which is the center of MSME traditional clothing. In its implementation, it was found that people are still very ignorant not only about advertising language but also with how to create, manage, and develop social media for promotion because there are still social media such as: Instagram and Facebook that are not effective and even not active in uploading content so that the form of implementation of assistance is direct and not in groups to maximize the results. MSMEs that are partners in the Community Partnership Program (PKM) are Dex's Pong and Tri Arta Collection. MSME have been assisted to socialize the importance of professionally managed social media with interactive advertising language, how to create attractive visual content for potential customers, to the importance of publication in print or online media. It is hoped that MSME will be able to consciously and independently promote their products in the future through the media consistently and continuously.

Abstract

The tour guide profession has become the most essential element of the tourist sector. On the other hand, Professional tour guides must undergo extensive training. Tourism has established itself as one of the most important factors for the global community, particularly for the people of South Nias, who still preserve and present natural and cultural beauty that remains intact even in the midst of modernity, alongside changes and improvements in social, cultural, and economic factors. The presence of present tourists will, of course, generate a favorable response. Thus, to prevent this from happening, a solution is needed, namely by providing teaching or socialization in the form of training of tour guide for the next generation. The community services program organized by Warmadewa University and Nias Raya University which aim to educate and increase the interest of the younger generation regarding the preservation of the tour guide and the awareness of tourism destination, this also has a relationship with cultural and linguistic aspects. Technically, the method used in this research was qualitative research through the interview stage to find out partner problems. The source of data used in this study is primary data by conducting field observations to find out the problems faced by the students of English Language Study Program in Nias Raya University. The results showed that there was an increase in understanding the tour guides profession and being able to describe instructions or tourist attractions in practice.

Abstract

Di Bali, khususnya di Kelurahan Kawan, Kabupaten Bangli, terdapat banyak UMKM yang memproduksi jajanan tradisional. Masyarakat di Kelurahan Kawan berperan besar dalam memproduksi dan melestarikan jajanan tradisional Bali, salah satunya adalah Kelompok Usaha Kawan. Namun, kelompok usaha ini memiliki beberapa permasalahan, seperti kurangnya branding produk melalui pembuatan logo produk, kemasan, promosi media sosial dengan bahasa iklan yang menarik, dan keterbatasan peralatan sehingga kelompok ini tidak bisa berkembang dalam hal pangsa pasar dan varian produk. Terdapat beberapa metode yang dilakukan oleh tim PKM untuk mengatasi permasalahan mitra yaitu melakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam pembuatan bahasa iklan dengan membuat konten dalam bentuk foto dan video, pencatatan arus kas keuangan, dan program bantuan peralatan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu peningkatan penjualan yang dihasilkan oleh mitra melalui perluasan pasar dengan menggunakan media sosial sebagai ajang branding dan promosi melalui konten-konten yang menarik. Selain itu, mitra juga mengalami perubahan dalam mengelola keuangan pribadi dan keuangan dalam usahanya sebagai hasil dari adanya pelatihan pencatatan arus kas.

Abstract

Translation plays an important role in transferring the data among languages. Thus, translation is not just about translating languages, but also exploring cultures. This can be seen from the translation of traditional Balinese food menus which used to present various names of special dishes as part of Balinese local wisdom. The translation of traditional Balinese food menus is interesting to study since there are no professional translators involved in making it and the emergence of various technical terms are not easy to translate. This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive method to analyze data and determine the translation strategy by considering the aspects of ingredients, taste, size, process, and shape. The theoretical framework by Newmark (1988) was applied to examine the data. The results of the analysis show that the food menu translation strategy which includes expansion and descriptive equivalent are based on several aspects of food menu translation.

Abstract

This research attempts to find out the strategy used by the translator in translating Balinese terms also to explain the accuracy of the translated terms. The data used in this research were in the form of phrases in the book entitled Tigang Satua Bali by Sutjaja (2007). The data collection was done through reading and note taking techniques. The data then were analyzed using theory of translation strategy and accuracy. The result showed that the strategy used within the translation of Balinese terms into target languages (Indonesian and English) are translation by paraphrase, related word, loan phrase, and cultural substitution. Then the accuracy levels of the translation strategy are in three criteria, namely correct, misguided, and unclear.

Abstract

Bali terkenal dengan kerajinan tradisionalnya, salah satunya adalah tedung, anyaman bambu yang memiliki nilai budaya tinggi. Kelompok Pengrajin Tedung Dewata di Desa Semarapura Tengah menghadapi tantangan signifikan dalam hal perhitungan harga pokok produksi, penerapan teknologi, dan pengemasan produk. Program Pemberdayaan Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) dirancang untuk mengatasi masalah ini dengan memberikan pelatihan mengenai perhitungan biaya, teknologi digital, dan strategi pemasaran. Melalui pendekatan ini, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan pengrajin, melestarikan budaya Bali, dan memperkuat posisi produk kerajinan di pasar. Artikel ini menguraikan metode pelaksanaan PKM dan hasil yang dicapai, serta manfaat yang diperoleh dari program ini. Program pengabdian ini berhasil memberikan dampak positif bagi mitra melalui penerapan teknologi seperti Microsoft Excel dan PowerPoint, serta penyuluhan materi terkait perhitungan biaya produksi, pengelolaan SDM, dan pentingnya deskripsi produk. Hasil penyuluhan menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta mengenai perhitungan HPP dan penetapan harga jual, sebagaimana terlihat dari peningkatan rata-rata jawaban benar antara pre-test dan post-test.

Abstract

Metaphor is a beautiful way to communicate through understanding hidden meanings in language. The objectives of this research are to analyze what types the metaphor are employed in the Elemental: Forces of Nature movie and reveal the reasons behind its uses by the writer based on general cultural experiences, thoughts, and perspective. The research methodology employed in this research is descriptive qualitative. In analizing the data, the researcher uses the theory that is proposed by Lakoff (2003) about conceptual metaphor theory to identify the types of metaphor and analyzed the physical and cultural experience to conduct the reasons arise from the data. Those types of metaphor are structural metaphor where one concept is another concept, orientational metaphor where its deals with a spatial orientation that derived from our physical or cultural experiences, and ontological metaphor where it considers an abstract thing, such as event or idea as a concrete entity. The findings of this study reveal the presence of 5 phrases structural metaphor, 18 phrases of orientational metaphor, and 19 phrases ontological metaphor within the movie. From those results, the researcher concludes that there are three types of metaphor which is ontological metaphor the most frequently type that is used.
