Abstract

Indonesian waters have abundant natural resources, one of which is coral reefs. The purpose of this study was to analyze the structure of the coral community in Sidodadi Village, Pesawaran Regency. The research was conducted in September 2023. The research location was in the waters of Sidodadi Village, Teluk Pandan District, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung Province. The research method used Underwater Photo Transect (UPT). Data analysis with CPCe software. The percentage of live coral cover in the observation area at station 1 was 44,65%, station 2 was 0,12%, station 3 was 78,03% and station 4 was 44,05%. The category of coral cover percentage was very good, moderate and poor. The physicochemical conditions of the waters were classified as good to support coral growth. The diversity index value at the research location was included in the low category, the uniformity index value was included in the low and high categories and the dominance index value was included in the low and high categories. The physicochemical parameters of the waters that most influenced the amount of coral cover were dissolved oxygen and brightness.

Abstract

Kiluan Bay is one of the marine conservation areas in Tanggamus Regency, Province of Lampung through which dolphins migrate. This research aims to analyze the relationship between the distribution of sea surface temperature and chlorophyll with the appearance of dolphins in Kiluan Bay. This research uses an exploratory survey method. The research results show that the highest appearance of dolphins was in the Transition Season I, around 117 in the temperature range of 29,44-29,88°C with a chlorophyll concentration of 0,120-0,184 mg/m³ and the lowest in the West Season was around 31 in the temperature range of 28,56-29,34°C with a chlorophyll concentration of 0,096-0,134 mg/m³. The appearance of dolphins is more strongly related to sea surface temperature than to chlorophyll concentration because dolphins do not eat phytoplankton directly where there is a time lag where increasing the chlorophyll concentration value does not immediately have an impact on increasing the intensity value of dolphin emergence, but requires some predation time.

Abstract

Spons adalah hewan avertebrata bentik laut dari Filum Porifera yang memiliki senyawa bioaktif yang dapat berfungsi sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membandingkan antara ekstrak spons jenis Xetospongia sp. dengan Spongia sp. terhadap bakteri patogen. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei-November 2025. Sampel spons jenis Xetospongia sp. dan Spongia sp. diambil dari perairan Pulau Pahawang diekstrak menggunakan metanol, etil asetat dan heksana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ciri morfologi memliki permukaan tubuh kasar dengan bentuk membulat dan warna kemerahan sedangkan jenis Spongia sp. memiliki permukaan tubuh lembut dengan mengerak dan warna hitam gelap. Rendemen ekstrak spons menggunakan etil asetat lebih besar dibandingkan dengan menggunakan metanol dan hexana. Aktivitas antibakteri ektrak spons terhadap bakteri patogen spons Xetspongia sp. menggunakan hexana sedangkan spons Spongia sp. menggunakan metanol.
