Abstract

Kata kunci: Hands-on activity, Artificial Intelegence, TPACK, pelatihan guru, pendidikan sekolah dasar

Abstract

This research is a research and development using the ADDIE development model. This model consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The purpose of this research is to develop media needed by teachers and students in Mathematics learning, especially data processing materials, and to test the validity of developed media. The result of the needs analysis indicate that students' low numeracy skills in data processing learning are evident from the results of observations, tests, and questionnaires. The result of the design and product characteristics produce a representation of learning media that attracts students' attention with a combination of multimedia. The result of validity test by material expert show that the media is included in the very feasible category (83,3%), by media experts in the very feasible category (100%). The summary of the findings of media user questionnaire shows that the media is very feasible to be used in learning both according to students (89%) and teachers (99%). This development of Magic Box connected to Quick Response Code and Padlet for learning in elementary schools as an alternative new strategy in technology-based Mathematics transformation.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of mathematical proficiency among students in Indonesia. In addition, teaching materials are dominated by textbooks that consist mainly of text and lack meaningful learning activities. As a result, students struggle to solve real-life problems. Therefore, improvements in numeracy skills are needed, including the development of relevant, contextually appropriate student worksheets as assessment for learning. This study aims to develop worksheets based on contextual learning principles as assessment for learning to facilitate the development of numeracy skills among fifth-grade elementary school students. This study uses the ADDIE development model, but only up to the development stage. The research subjects consisted of all fifth-grade students and teachers at three schools in the city of Parepare, South Sulawesi, located in three different parts of the city. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed descriptively, qualitatively, and quantitatively. This worksheet is based on the principles of contextual learning, with characteristics of constructivism, inquiry, questioning, learning community, modeling, reflection, and authentic assessment. It presents fractions material with examples and problems from students' daily lives, supported by attractive visual designs and clear instructions for use. It is feasible and practical for elementary school mathematics learning. It can support numeracy skills of elementary school students through contextual learning principal and as assessment for learning with real-time feedback. Thus, students are actively engaged in the learning process, and the learning is meaningful to them because it relates to their daily lives.

Abstract

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the competencies of science and mathematics Olympiad coaches in Barru Regency through training and mentoring programs. The activity was held at the Barru Regency Education Office and involved elementary and junior high school teachers from various subdistricts. Participants were grouped by educational level and subject area—specifically mathematics and science—to ensure the training content was tailored to the specific needs of Olympiad coaching. The five-day training utilized a combination of lectures, discussions, problem-solving practice, and mentoring. The training materials were aligned with the MIPA Olympiad guidelines, covering concept reinforcement, problem-solving strategies based on Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), and systematic student coaching techniques. Activity evaluation was conducted through pre-tests, post-tests, observation of participant activities, and participant response questionnaires. The results of the activity showed an improvement in teachers’ understanding and skills in solving and designing HOTS-based problems. Additionally, participants demonstrated enthusiasm and active participation throughout the program. Conducting the training separately by subject area and school level was a key strength of the program, as it allowed for more focused and participant-centered instruction. Consequently, this community service initiative successfully contributed to strengthening the competencies of MIPA Olympiad coaches in Barru Regency.

Abstract

Children with special needs face unique challenges in learning and assessment, and traditional test-based methods often fail to capture their full cognitive and social abilities. This research aims to design and validate a non-test evaluation model based on authentic assessment principles to measure the cognitive and social development of children with special needs. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach guided by Richey and Klein’s model, the study proceeded through three phases: model development, expert validation, and implementation. Data were collected through expert validation sheets and perception questionnaires involving teachers, therapists, and parents, analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The validation results showed that the developed model achieved a “very valid” category across all indicators, demonstrating strong theoretical grounding, practical relevance, and contextual suitability. Respondent perceptions were predominantly positive, with 80% agreeing on the model’s clarity, usefulness, and applicability in inclusive educational settings. The model effectively integrates real-life contexts and interdisciplinary collaboration, providing a holistic framework for assessing both cognitive and social growth. In conclusion, this authentic, non-test-based model offers a practical and inclusive alternative for evaluating children with special needs, bridging the gap between assessment theory and classroom practice.
