Abstract

This study aims to determine the work commitment of teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya. The research employs qualitative methods, with 5 subjects participating. Data collection methods include interviews, documentation, and observation. Data analysis is conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and verification. Data validity is checked through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability tests. The study concludes that: 1) forms of teacher commitment include: teacher involvement in activities, constructive responses from teachers, teacher cooperation, concern for school development, teacher compliance, teacher loyalty, and choosing teaching as a lifelong career; 2) strategies to foster teacher work commitment include: commitment to core human values, clarification and communication of the organization's mission, ensuring organizational justice, creating a sense of community, and supporting teacher development; and 3) implications of teacher work commitment include: the impact of teacher commitment, information about obstacles faced, efforts made, and teachers implementing the curriculum with full responsibility. The conclusion of this research is that teacher work commitment has been effectively implemented. The implications of this research can serve as input for enhancing teacher work commitment.

Abstract

Supervision plays a significant role in guiding, developing, and supporting teachers to achieve high learning standards. In education, supervision is not merely a monitoring mechanism but an integral strategy for professional development and the holistic improvement of learning quality. This study aims to analyze the role of supervision in enhancing the quality of continuous learning at Harapan Bangsa Elementary School in West Kalimantan. The research method used is qualitative with a case study design. The subjects of the research include supervisors or principals, teachers, and students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed using triangulation techniques. The analysis focuses on identifying the role of supervision, its impact on teachers, its influence on the quality of learning, and its contribution to the professional development of teachers. The results of the study show that supervision plays a crucial role in enhancing teacher professionalism through regular supervision sessions that allow in-depth discussions about teaching methods and learning strategies. Supervision helps teachers adapt to curriculum developments and educational policies. Identifying individual teacher potentials and needs through observation and coaching enables the creation of targeted professional development programs. Furthermore, supervision contributes to the holistic development of learning, including character building, social skills, and students' critical thinking abilities. The implementation of innovative teaching methods is encouraged through supervisory support, which provides resources and related training.

Abstract

Perkembangan dan pemanfaatan teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan sangat pesat. Salah satu teknologi yang dapat dimanfaatkan di dunia pendidikan adalah Mendeley. Aplikasi mendeley dapat dimanfaatkan dalam penulisan karya tulis ilmiah seperti skripsi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan Mendeley sehingga berdampak pada kelancaran penulisan skripsi pada semester 8 (delapan). Peserta pelatihan adalah mahasiswa semester 7 (tujuh) jurusan ilmu pendidikan, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Tanjungpura. Pelatihan dilakukan secara onsite. Materi pelatihan meliputi pengenalan Mendeley secara teoritis seperti konsep, fitur-fitur, manfaat, kelebihan dan kekurangan, dan praktek pengunduhan, membuat akun, membuat folder, menginput dan menambah reference, mengorganisir reference, dan menggunakan mandeley cite dalam penulisan karya ilmiah. Luaran dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan aplikasi Mendeley, dan adanya keterampilan mahasiswa dalam penulisan skripsi dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Mendeley.

Abstract

Students' inability to recognize cultural diversity can lead to violence and social gaps. If intercultural communication issues in schools persist, they may harm students' social development. Counseling teachers play a crucial role in fostering intercultural communication skills through role play technique that reinforce students to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. This study aims to see the effectiveness of role-playing techniques in improving intercultural communication of tourism vocational school students between before and after the intervention was given and after 3 weeks the role-playing technique intervention was stopped. This research is quasi-experimental research with a pre-post group design. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The data collected in this research was then analyzed using the non-parametric Wilcoxon test. The results of this study show that there are differences in students' intercultural communication between before and after the intervention. It is hoped that the results of this research can add references in implementing role playing techniques in counseling guidance services.

Abstract

Abstrak Pembentukan komunitas belajar dalam penerapan kurikulum bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, akan tetapi data terkait pelaksanaan komunitas belajar yang diketahui masih belum maksimal. Pendampingan ini bertujuan sebagai upaya peningkatan kualitas pendidikan pada pendidikan anak usia dini di daerah Paser Penajam Utara yang berada di Ibu Kota Nusantara. Pendampingan dilaksanakan pada empat lembaga pendidikan anak usia dini dipilih karena minimnya penerapan komunitas belajar pada lembaga tersebut. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan diskusi awal terkait pemerolehan informasi hambatan dalam pelaksanaan komunitas belajar, dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan untuk pembentukan komunitas belajar, pemberian materi pendukung, evaluasi dan berbagi praktik baik pelaksanaan komunitas belajar. Dengan dilaksanakan pendampingan ini guru menjadi lebih kompeten dalam merancang kegiatan pembelajaran untuk anak usia ini. Lebih jauh, pendampingan ini membawa manfaat pada pengembangan kompetensi guru secara berkelanjutan serta dapat dijadikan upaya dalam memotivasi guru untuk menciptakan pembelajaran berkualitas sesuai dengan tujuan pelaksanaan komunitas belajar dalam Kurikulum merdeka. Kata kunci: pendampingan; komunitas belajar; paud. Abstract The formation of a learning community in implementing the curriculum aims to improve the quality of education; however, data related to the implementation of the learning community is known to have not been optimal. This assistance aims to improve the quality of education in early childhood education in the Paser Penajam Utara area in the archipelago's capital city. Mentoring is carried out at four early childhood education institutions chosen because of the minimal implementation of learning communities at these institutions. Activities were carried out with initial discussions related to obtaining information on obstacles in implementing learning communities, followed by training for forming learning communities, providing supporting materials, and evaluating and sharing good practices in implementing learning communities. By implementing this assistance, teachers become more competent in designing learning activities for children of this age. Furthermore, this assistance benefits the continuous development of teacher competency and can motivate teachers to create quality learning following the objectives of implementing learning communities in the independent curriculum. Keywords: accompaniment; learning community; early childhood education programs.

Abstract

Abstrak Pengembangan potensi diri mahasiswa tidak hanya terfokus pada pencapaian akademis, tetapi juga melibatkan aspek-aspek lain yang dapat mendukung kesuksesan mereka, seperti keterampilan pribadi, kesiapan karier, serta kemampuan dalam menghadapi tantangan emosional dan sosial. Sebagai calon pendidik, mahasiswa FKIP diharapkan memiliki keterampilan berbahasa yang baik, yang berperan penting dalam menyampaikan materi pembelajaran secara efektif, jelas, dan menarik bagi siswa di masa depan. Mahasiswa sering kali mengalami tekanan dari berbagai sumber, termasuk beban tugas akademik, persiapan ujian, dan permasalahan keuangan, yang berpotensi meningkatkan kecemasan. Selain itu, tekanan sosial, konflik interpersonal, dan adaptasi terhadap lingkungan sosial atau budaya yang baru juga menjadi sumber stress yang signifikan. Jika dibiarkan tanpa penanganan yang memadai, kondisi ini dapat memengaruhi kesehatan mental dan fisik mahasiswa. Untuk membantu mahasiswa dalam menghadapi tantangan-tantangan tersebut, Unit Sahabat Mahasiswa (USM) FKIP Universitas Tanjungpura menyediakan layanan bimbingan gratis yang mencakup pengembangan diri, manajemen stres, dan keterampilan berbahasa. Salah satu kegiatan yang dilakukan USM adalah pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk workshop bertajuk “Peningkatan Potensi Diri Mahasiswa Melalui Pelatihan Bahasa dan Manajemen Stres.” Workshop ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa dan manajemen stres mahasiswa, dengan menggunakan metode presentasi, ceramah, diskusi, dan tanya jawab. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 60 mahasiswa yang merupakan perwakilan dari 20 program studi di FKIP Untan. Melalui kegiatan ini, mahasiswa diharapkan mampu menghadapi tekanan dengan lebih baik serta mengembangkan potensi diri secara optimal. Kata kunci: potensi diri; pelatihan bahasa; manajemen stress Abstract Student development is not limited to academic achievements alone but also involves various aspects that can influence their future success, such as personal skills, career readiness, and the ability to cope with emotional and social challenges. As future educators, students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) are expected to have strong language skills, which play a crucial role in delivering educational content effectively, clearly, and engagingly to future students. Students often face pressures from multiple sources, including academic demands, exam preparation, and financial issues, all of which can increase anxiety. Additionally, social pressures, interpersonal conflicts, and the need to adapt to new social or cultural environments can significantly contribute to stress. If left unmanaged, these conditions may negatively impact students' mental and physical health. To assist students in addressing these challenges, the Student Support Unit (USM) of FKIP Universitas Tanjungpura provides free guidance services covering personal development, stress management, and language skills. One of USM’s main initiatives is a community engagement program in the form of a workshop titled "Enhancing Student Potential through Language Training and Stress Management." This workshop is designed to improve students’ language abilities and stress management skills using methods such as presentations, lectures, discussions, and Q&A sessions. Sixty students participated, representing 20 undergraduate study programs within FKIP. Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the integration of religious moderation values in social science education at Madrasah Tsanawiyah in West Sumatra Province, utilizing a mixed-methods approach that combines qualitative and quantitative methodologies to gain a comprehensive understanding of the application of these values. The research sample consisted of 10 Madrasah Tsanawiyah, purposively selected to reflect geographical variations and institutional characteristics. The qualitative approach was employed to explore the perceptions of teachers, principals, and students regarding the implementation of religious moderation through in-depth interviews and classroom observations. Meanwhile, the quantitative approach involved distributing questionnaires to students to measure their understanding of the concept of religious moderation and the effectiveness of its application in learning. The results indicate that the values of religious moderation have begun to be integrated into the social science learning process, although various challenges persist. These challenges include inadequate training for teachers and a lack of curriculum guidelines that explicitly direct the application of religious moderation in teaching. The integration of the findings from both qualitative and quantitative analyses suggests that, while efforts to integrate the values of religious moderation have commenced positively, further support is necessary, particularly in the form of institutional frameworks and resources to enhance teacher training and develop comprehensive curriculum guidelines.

Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) units requires a learning approach that is oriented not only towards academic achievement and character, but also towards children's mental health and psychosocial well-being. In this context, the integration of guidance and counseling services is a strategic element to support the holistic development of early childhood. This study aims to analyze the form of guidance and counseling integration in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at Anak Ceria PAUD and its impact on early childhood mental health. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through participatory observation of 20 early childhood children, semi-structured interviews with 5 PAUD teachers and 2 principals, and analysis of learning documents and child development records. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was maintained through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results show that guidance and counseling at Anak Ceria PAUD are contextually integrated within play-based learning and the Independent Curriculum project. This integration has a positive impact on emotional regulation, healthy social interactions, independence, and children's sense of safety in the school environment, which are important indicators of mental health and psychosocial well-being in early childhood. Teachers act as developmental counselors through emotional support, positive reinforcement, and empathetic interactions, although this is not supported by a structured formal guidance and counseling program. This study concludes that the integration of guidance and counseling is an effective promotive and preventive effort in supporting early childhood mental health and strengthening the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in early childhood education units.

Abstract

Background: Thematic learning is an effective strategy to address the demands of 21st-century education by integrating critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity through contextual learning environments.Aim: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the thematic approach in improving students' learning outcomes, motivation, and critical thinking skills in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects at SMKN 1 Sukadana.Method: The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. A total of 70 grade XI students were selected as the sample through purposive sampling, divided into experimental and control groups (35 students each). Data were collected using learning outcome tests, motivation questionnaires, and observation sheets. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, including t-tests, were conducted after normality and homogeneity tests.Results: The thematic approach significantly enhanced learning outcomes, motivation, and critical thinking skills. The experimental group achieved a 100 percent success rate, compared to 48.57 percent in the control group. Variance in individual responses highlighted differing adaptations to this method.Conclusion: The thematic approach is effective in improving student engagement, motivation, and interdisciplinary learning outcomes, particularly in vocational education. These findings support its implementation as a cross-disciplinary teaching method and provide insights for educational policy development.
