Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of reward and punishment to Santri Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren Al-Hakimiyah Padang Lawas Regency in carrying out congregational prayers. This study uses a qualitative method with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The data sources used are primary data sources from the Dormitory Trustees, and Aliyah Santri, and secondary data sources are the Leaders, Deputy Principals for Student Affairs, and the Community around Al-Hakimiyah Islamic Boarding School. The instruments used were observations, interviews, and documents for boarding the Al-Hakimiyah Islamic Boarding School.The results showed that the reward method applied at the Al-Hakimiyah Islamic Boarding School was in the form of expressions of pleasure to students who performed congregational prayers, while punishment was applied in the form of calls or reprimands along with advice about the importance of praying in congregation at the mosque. The reward and punishment method is effectively applied to the congregational prayer of aliyah students at the Al-Hakimiyah Islamic Boarding School. This is evidenced by the increase in the practice of praying in congregation for Madrasah Aliyah students. Abstract

Understanding stoichiometry remains a significant challenge for many secondary school students, primarily due to traditional instructional approaches that emphasize memorization rather than analytical reasoning. To address this issue, this study examines the effectiveness of a socio-scientific issue (SSI)-based problem-based learning (PBL) model in fostering students’ critical thinking skills in stoichiometry instruction. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a non-randomized pretest–posttest control group structure. Participants consisted of two grade X classes from SMAN 1 Sipirok, with one class assigned as the experimental group receiving SSI-based PBL instruction and the other as the control group receiving conventional teaching. Data were collected through essay tests designed around Ennis’s twelve critical thinking indicators. The results of an independent samples t-test indicated a statistically significant difference in posttest scores between the two groups (p = 0.027, p < 0.05), demonstrating that the experimental group outperformed the control group in critical thinking. These findings suggest that integrating socio-scientific issues into problem-based learning can effectively enhance students’ reasoning, engagement, and conceptual understanding in chemistry education. The study contributes to the ongoing discourse on innovative pedagogies by highlighting the pedagogical potential of SSI-based PBL for cultivating higher-order thinking skills in science classrooms.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan pendekatan konstruktivisme dalam pembelajaran Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam (SKI) serta dampaknya terhadap pembentukan pengetahuan dan keterampilan berpikir siswa kelas XI di MAN 1 Mandailing Natal. Pendekatan konstruktivisme menekankan peran aktif peserta didik dalam membangun pemahaman berdasarkan pengalaman dan interaksi sosial. Dalam konteks mata pelajaran SKI, pendekatan ini dianggap relevan karena memungkinkan siswa memahami sejarah Islam secara mendalam, serta mengembangkan sikap kritis, reflektif, dan aplikatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI dan guru SKI. Analisis data dilakukan melalui proses reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan konstruktivisme mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa secara aktif dalam pembelajaran. Siswa menjadi lebih termotivasi, mampu berdiskusi dengan baik, serta menunjukkan peningkatan dalam memahami materi sejarah yang bersifat kompleks dan abstrak. Selain itu, pendekatan ini juga berhasil mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kolaboratif, dan reflektif siswa. Faktor pendukung penerapan konstruktivisme antara lain kreativitas guru, dukungan kepala sekolah, dan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif. Namun, terdapat pula beberapa kendala seperti keterbatasan waktu, kesiapan siswa, dan kurangnya fasilitas pendukung. Penerapan konstruktivisme efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran SKI di kelas XI MAN 1 Mandailing Natal. Untuk optimalisasi, diperlukan pelatihan guru, pengembangan media pembelajaran yang interaktif, serta kebijakan sekolah yang mendukung pembelajaran berbasis konstruktivisme.

Abstract

Rendahnya minat belajar siswa di berbagai jenjang pendidikan, termasuk di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA), menjadi persoalan serius dalam upaya peningkatan kualitas pendidikan nasional. Salah satu penyebab utama dari fenomena ini adalah lemahnya kinerja guru dan kurang optimalnya kualitas pelayanan pendidikan yang disediakan sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam pengaruh kinerja guru dan kualitas pelayanan terhadap minat belajar siswa SMA Negeri 3 Panyabungan. Urgensi penelitian ini terletak pada perlunya penguatan kualitas pembelajaran melalui pendekatan berbasis kinerja dan layanan pendidikan yang bermutu sebagai strategi peningkatan daya tarik siswa terhadap proses belajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis regresi linear berganda, didukung oleh data yang dikumpulkan melalui angket dan dokumentasi dari 90 responden siswa. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial maupun simultan, kinerja guru dan kualitas pelayanan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap minat belajar siswa. Kinerja guru memiliki kontribusi sebesar 51,9%, sedangkan kualitas pelayanan memberikan pengaruh sebesar 64,1%. Secara bersama-sama, kedua variabel ini memberikan kontribusi sebesar 66,4% terhadap minat belajar siswa. Pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa guru yang profesional dan pelayanan pendidikan yang responsif mampu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif, meningkatkan motivasi siswa, serta membentuk persepsi positif terhadap pentingnya pendidikan. Dengan demikian, peningkatan minat belajar siswa harus ditempuh melalui intervensi terpadu terhadap kompetensi guru dan reformasi layanan pendidikan di tingkat sekolah.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in Natural Sciences. This is because the learning model applied is not optimal and students are less interested in the learning process. Therefore, it is necessary to change the implementation of learning in the classroom by using the make a match learning model (finding card pairs) in the learning process. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the application of the make a match model can improve the learning outcomes of grade IV science at SD Negeri 200405 Hutaimbaru Jl. Sibolga, KM 4 Hutaimbaru, Kec. Hutaimbaru, Padangsidimpuan City, North Sumatra Province. This study aims to determine the application of the make a match model can improve the learning outcomes of grade IV science at SD Negeri 200405 Hutaimbaru Jl. Sibolga, KM 4 Hutaimbaru, Kec. Hutaimbaru, Padangsidimpuan City, North Sumatra Province. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) at the planning, action, observation and reflection stages at SD Negeri 200405 Hutaimbaru. The data collection instruments used were tests and observations. The results of the study showed that the application of the make a match model can improve student learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the increase in the average value and completeness of student learning outcomes, namely in the pre-cycle an average of 53.7% and completeness of 13% (3 out of 24 students). In cycle I, meeting I, the average score of student scores was 60.2% and student completeness was 39% (5 out of 24 students). While cycle I, meeting II, the average score of student scores was 72.5% and student completeness was 50% (12 out of 24 students). In cycle I, meeting I, the average score of student scores was 79.1% and student completeness was 71% (17 out of 24 students). While cycle II meeting II became the average score of student scores 92.9% and student completion 92% (22 out of 24 students). It can be concluded that the application of the make a match learning model can improve the learning outcomes of grade IV science at SD Negeri 200405 Hutaimbaru. For further research, the researcher hopes that the learning process will be further improved in order to achieve learning objectives, and the time is extended in the application of the make a match learning model

Abstract

Interconnected Integration based learning is really needed to narrow the dualism space or the science dichotomy which separates between general education and religion education which then has an impact on the separation and segregation of religious awareness and general science. In the learning process, critical and creative thinking skills are very important, because it can make people become more mentally flexible, open and easy to adapt to various situations and problems. The type of this research was research and development. The development model used in this study was a modification of Borg and Gall's development stage which states that there were 10 stages in research and development. The research results showed that the instructional materials produced had very good validity (89%), very practical (91.19% by teachers and 86.21% by students and very efficient with the average critical and creative thinking (pretest) of students; 66.31 and posttest 80.26, and the results of the t-test count = 15.712 with sig 0.00 <0.05. This shows that there were significant differences before being treated and after treated by using the interconnection approach in improving students' critical and creative thinking.

Teachers almost never carry out learning that is oriented towards higher order thinking skills (HOTS). The author also rarely uses learning media. As a result, the learning atmosphere in the classroom is stiff and the children don't look cheerful. .based on the results of interviews with several students, information was obtained that (a) students were lazy to attend lessons that were mostly carried out by the teacher by means of lectures (b) apart from lectures, the method that was always used by the teacher was assignments or homework (PR). Some students claim to be bored with tasks that are only theoretical. To face the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era, students must be equipped with higher-order thinking skills. One of the HOTS-oriented learning models and suggested in the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum is the Discovery Learning learning model. Discovery learning is a learning process that occurs when students are not presented with information directly but students are required to organize their understanding of that information independently. After carrying out the mathematics learning model of Discovery Learning, the authors found that the learning processes and results of students increased. Better than previous studies. When the Discovery Learning model was applied to other VIII graders, it turned out that the students' learning processes and outcomes were just as good. Discovery Learning learning practices that work well, the authors conclude as a HOTS-oriented learning best practice with the Discovery Learning model.

Abstract

The ability to absorb the national assessment of logarithmic function content for SMA Negeri 1 Sinunukan in 2020 and 2021 is very low. This low learning ability may be caused by the implementation of less effective learning strategies. Therefore, there is a need to use more effective learning strategies so that students master mathematics. especially the material on logarithmic functions becomes better and students' learning motivation also changes for the better. One learning strategy that is considered to have the potential to improve academic achievement and increase motivation to learn mathematics is the SAVI learning model. The aim of this research is to find out whether the learning model SAVI can increase the motivation and learning outcomes of logarithm material for class Both cycles use the SAVI learning model. 0.97 in cycle I increased in cycle II to 77.56
