Abstract

Arabic language learning at MI is not yet optimal, namely the availability of supporting media and open materials is still limited. The use of contextual as an open material in Arabic language learning has great potential to increase the effectiveness of the learning process. E-Flip Book is a digital technology innovation that makes conventional books more dynamic with an attractive and interactive format, equipped with animation, sound and other multimedia features. This research aims to develop a contextually based Arabic E-flip Book to improve MI students' Arabic language skills. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) model of Borg & Gall (2003). This research was carried out by implementing seven of the ten stages of the Borg & Gall model. Data collection techniques used in this research include observation and interviews as an analysis of e-flipbook development needs and questionnaire techniques for product validation by media experts, language experts and content experts. The results of the assessment from material experts on the Arabic E-Flipbook for Class I Students at MI obtained a percentage result of 80% and was included in the "Decent" category. The media validation results were 82% and included in the "Very Eligible" category. The results of language expert acquisition were 72% and were included in the "Decent" category.

Abstract

Critical Thinking is a key component of the graduate profile and poses a significant challenge in learning, including in elementary education. In this study, deep learning can encourage students to discover the meaning of what they learn, engage them in analyzing information, making connections between ideas or information, and solve problems. With STEAM pedagogical practices integrated with Design Thinking, students can engage in three deep learning experiences: understanding, applying, and reflecting. Quantitative data revealed that 164 fifth-grade elementary school students were homogeneously divided into two classes: a control class and an experimental class. A significant value of 0.000 <0.05 was obtained, with an n-gain of 0.63, categorized as moderate. STEAM integrated with Design Thinking, implemented as a pedagogical practice for deep learning, provides students with the opportunity to analyze needs, process and evaluate information, and develop ideas based on considerations that have gone through an iterative thinking process. The application of STEAM integrated with Design Thinking in deep learning encourages students to apply knowledge to new, real-world contexts through multidisciplinary approaches to build in-depth understanding.Keyword:Deep Learning, STEAM, Design Thinking, Critical Thinking

Abstract

 Pendidikan di era saat ini menuntut adanya perubahan paradigma dalam metode pengajaran guna menciptakan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengintegrasikan model RADEC(Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create)-literasi sains dalam modul ajar guna mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian  pra-eksperimental. Sampel penelitian ini melibatkan 60 siswa kelas V SD. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes awal, perlakuan menggunakan modul ajar, dan tes akhir untuk mengukur perubahan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Hasil uji N-gain menunjukkan bahwa Model RADEC-Literasi Sains dalam Modul Ajar (MALS) pada kelas eksperimen (0,78) lebih tinggi dibandingkan pada kelas kontrol (0,53). Hasil uji t menunjukkan nilai uji hipotesis kurang dari 0,05 (2-tailed). Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa MALS dengan Model RADEC efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning model based on the Case Method and Team-Based Project in the Environmental Education (PLH) course to enhance students' higher order thinking skills in the Society 5.0 era. The model is developed through four learning modules, each consisting of three main phases: penetration, discussion, and project. In the penetration phase, students are introduced to fundamental concepts and relevant environmental cases through literature review and practical experiments. The discussion phase allows students to analyze cases in depth from various perspectives and design innovative solutions. In the project phase, students collaborate to develop and publish casebased projects, such as creating an environmental encyclopedia, organizing recycling campaigns, or producing digital educational content. The results indicate that this learning model increases student engagement in the learning process, strengthens analytical and problem-solving skills, and fosters innovation in developing environmental solutions. Moreover, students responded positively to this model as it provides a more interactive, contextual, and applicable learning experience aligned with the demands of the Society 5.0 era. Thus, the development of the Case Method and Team-Based Project model in the PLH course can serve as an innovative learning alternative to prepare students for the dynamic global challenges ahead.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low problem-solving skills of third-grade elementary students in understanding animal metamorphosis. The absence of contextual teaching materials causes students to struggle in solving problems and participating actively in learning. This study aims to develop a teaching material called “Eksplorasi Metamorfosis” based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model to improve students' problem-solving abilities. The research method used was Design and Development (D&D), with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Data collection techniques included questionnaires and tests involving 25 third-grade as subjects. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative methods with a Likert scale. The developed teaching material follows the PBL syntax in a structured sequence, incorporates problem solving indicators, and aligns with specific learning objectives. The material offers strengths in its deeper exploration of metamorphosis content, a focused assessment approach that has not been widely developed, and its contextual presentation through an interactive design that encourages active student involvement. Expert validation results showed an overall score of 96.44%, categorized as very feasible. Cognitive test results showed an N-Gain score of 0.72, indicating high improvement in students' problem-solving abilities. Meanwhile, skill and affective assessments produced results ranging from good to excellent, reflecting students’ progress in both competence and positive attitudes during the learning process. It can be concluded that the “Eksplorasi Metamorfosis” teaching material is highly feasible to implement in learning and effective in improving problem-solving skills in the topic of metamorphosis for Phase B elementary students.

Abstract

Abstract Media and platforms are important components of scientific literacy learning in implementing the Merdeka curriculum in elementary schools. This community service activity aims to disseminate the use of media and platforms to strengthen scientific literacy in implementing the independent curriculum in elementary schools. The method used is socialization, which includes several stages: identifying problems and needs, determining training topics, and evaluating. This activity was attended by 60 teachers in Kuningan Regency. In terms of process, the implementation of community service was conducive at both the online and offline stages of implementing activities. Participants were very enthusiastic about participating in question-and-answer activities, practices, and presentations on media use. All participants developed learning media and presented it in front of other participants. The success of implementing this community service is assessed from the implementation process and the output, where there is an increase in teacher understanding regarding scientific literacy and the use of media and platforms to strengthen scientific literacy skills. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendiseminasikan penggunaan media dan platform penguatan literasi sains dalam implementasi kurikulum merdeka di sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu sosialisasi mencakup beberapa tahapan yaitu identifikasi permasalahan dan kebutuhan, penentuan topik pelatihan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 60 guru di Kabupaten Kuningan. Dari segi proses, pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian berlangsung kondusif dan lancar baik pada tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan daring maupun luring. Peserta sangat antusias berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan tanya jawab, praktik, dan presentasi penggunaan media. Semua peserta turut andil dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran dan mempresentasikannya di depan peserta yang lain. Keberhasilan pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini selain dinilai dari proses pelaksanaan juga dinilai dari output pengabdian dimana adanya peningkatan pemahaman guru terkait literasi sains serta penggunaan media maupun platform penguatan kemampuan literasi sains. Abstract

Improving educational quality units requires synergy from the various parties not only from the school stakeholders concerned but also the participation of universities and the government. Kampus Mengajar is one of the community services programs that aims to unite the synergy of the government, academics, and practitioners to accelerate the improvement of the quality of education after the learning loss due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This service activity was conducted in several stages like debriefing, coordination, deployment, needs analysis, program planning, implementation, reflection and evaluation, and student withdrawal. This article aims to describe the efforts to assist in improving the quality of education through the implementation of Kampus Mengajar Angkatan 3 at SDN Segara Makmur 02. The programs implemented were teaching assistance, calistung post, literacy corner, outdoor classes, learning media innovation, assistance in mastering digital literacy, character education, assistance in the implementation of Class AKM, and administrative assistance.
