Abstract

ABSTRAK Tanaman kayu putih (Melaleuca cajuputi) merupakan tanaman produksi hasil hutan bukan kayu yang pada umumnya dimanfaatkan daunnya untuk menghasilkan minyak kayu putih. Pengrajin minyak atsiri di Koperasi Pondok Pesantren (KOPPONTREN) Al-Fattah, Desa Negara Ratu Kecamatan Natar Kabupaten Lampung Selatan yang merupakan mitra pengabdian telah melakukan usaha pengolahan minyak kayu putih melalui penyulingan sederhana. Namun, rendemen yang dihasilkan hanya berkisar 0,6 – 0,7%. Selain itu, timbulnya limbah hasil pengolahan, murahnya harga jual karena kualitas yang belum baik dan kurangnya pemasaran produk melatarbelakangi kegiatan pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini. Pada kegiatan ini dilakukan peningkatan kualitas produk minyak kayu putih melalui pembuatan alat redistilasi. Sosialiasi pengolahan limbah padat dan cair dalam reaktor SSF Constructed Wetland dengan tanaman rumput wlingi juga dilakukan. Selain itu, pelatihan pemasaran secara digital dan pembuatan desain kemasan dilakukan sebagai pelengkap kegiatan PkM ini. Secara keseluruhan, hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa 86% peserta mengalami peningkatan kemampuan yang signifikan dengan nilai post-test rata-rata 83,8. Hasil ini cukup menggembirakan yang artinya pelaksanaan kegiatan sosialisasi dan praktek penyulingan minyak kayu putih, pengolahan limbah cair dan padat, serta branding produk mampu diikuti dengan baik oleh mitra. Kata Kunci: Branding Produk, Minyak Kayu Putih, Pengolahan Limbah, Redistilasi.  ABSTRACT The eucalyptus plant (Melaleuca cajuputi) is a non-timber forest product that is generally utilized for its leaves to produce eucalyptus oil. Essential oil craftsmen at the Al-Fattah Islamic Boarding School Cooperative (KOPPONTREN), Negara Ratu Village, Natar District, South Lampung Regency, who are our service partners, have been processing eucalyptus oil through simple distillation. However, the produced yield is only around 0.6–0.7%. Additionally, the generation of processing waste, the low selling price due to poor quality, and the lack of product marketing are the reasons behind this Community Service (PkM) activity. This activity improved the quality of eucalyptus oil products by creating a redistillation device. Socialization of solid and liquid waste treatment in the SSF Constructed Wetland reactor with wlingi grass plants was also conducted. In addition, digital marketing training and packaging design creation were conducted as a complement to this PkM activity. Overall, the training results show that 86% of participants experienced a significant improvement in their abilities, with an average post-test score of 83.8. This result is quite encouraging, meaning that the implementation of socialization activities and practices of eucalyptus oil distillation, liquid and solid waste processing, as well as product branding, can be well followed by partners. Keywords: Product Branding, Eucalyptus Oil, Waste Processing, Redistillation.

Abstract

Anemia is one of the health problems that can occur in adolescents and high school students. According to data from the Ministry of Health, many adolescents in Indonesia still suffer from anemia, as indicated by the still quite high prevalence of anemia. This activity aims to foster and increase awareness among adolescents and students about the importance of understanding the causes and impacts of anemia in adolescents. The implementation of this community service consists of several stages, namely the planning, implementation and evaluation stages, as well as follow-up carried out through pre-tests and post-tests to evaluate the results of the education that has been carried out. Based on the evaluation results, the majority of students showed increased awareness of the importance of a nutritious diet and a healthy lifestyle in preventing anemia. Interactive discussions also showed students' enthusiasm in understanding the impact of anemia on health and learning productivity.

Abstract

Background: The Indonesian pharmaceutical industry relies heavily on imported pharmaceutical raw materials (PRMs), with 90-95% of materials sourced from abroad, leading to increased production costs. Porang tuber (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) contains glucomannan with adhesive properties, making it a potential local alternative for tablet binding agents. Purpose: To optimize bay leaf extract (Syzygium polyanthum) tablet formulation using porang tuber flour and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as binders through simplex lattice design (SLD). Methods: Porang flour was prepared and characterized for moisture and calcium oxalate content. A tablet formulation optimization study was conducted using Design Expert 13 with porang flour (5-10%) and PVP (0-5%) as independent variables. Responses evaluated included angle of repose, tablet hardness, and disintegration time. The optimized formula was verified and comprehensively characterized. Results: The optimum formula contained 9.86% porang flour and 0.14% PVP, with a desirability value of 0.98. The tablets exhibited satisfactory physical properties: angle of repose 24.70±0.36°, hardness 6.29±0.19 kg, friability 0.51±0.03%, and disintegration time 8.46±0.69 minutes. Statistical analysis confirmed no significant differences between predicted and experimental values (p>0.05). Conclusion: Porang flour can effectively replace synthetic binders in tablet formulations, producing tablets that meet Indonesian Pharmacopoeia standards while reducing dependence on imported excipients.

Abstract

Desa Banjar Agung masuk dalam kecamatan wilayah kabupaten Lampung Selatan yang merupakan salah satu daerah penghasil jagung. Selama ini limbah yang dihasilkan dari pengolahan paska panen, yaitu rambut jagung belum dimanfaatkan secara baik, padahal rambut jagung memiliki kandungan antioksidan dan berpotensi untuk diolah menjadi produk pangan fungsional. Berdasarkan hasil survei dan diskusi dengan perangkat desa Banjar Agung ditemukan beberapa permasalahan, seperti minimnya pengetahuan dan ketrampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah dan memasarkan rambut jagung menjadi produk pangan fungsional. Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah memberikan penyuluhan serta pelatihan pengolahan rambut jagung menjadi produk pangan fungsional seperti sirup, agar-agar, dan es lilin, serta pendampingan digital marketing. Target peserta kegiatan adalah ibu-ibu PKK dan pengurus UMKM di Desa Banjar Agung. Terdapat 26 orang yang hadir dengan 6 diantaranya adalah perangkat desa. Hasil yang didapat dari penilaian pre-test dan post-test adalah 20 orang mengalami persentase kenaikan nilai rata-rata sebesar 25%, sedangkan 2 diantaranya bernilai tetap dengan nilai 90 dan 80 dari 100. Hasil luaran lain dari kegiatan ini adalah produk pangan fungsional, poster, video, publikasi di media elektronik serta jurnal pengabdian masyarakat

Abstract

ABSTRAK Indonesia termasuk dalam jajaran negara penghasil kelapa terbesar di dunia. Untuk memastikan bahwa produk kelapa diserap oleh petani, usaha pengolahan kelapa, seperti UMKM yang menjual kelapa atau produk kelapa, adalah sektor yang krusial. Hasil samping pembuatan Virgin Coconut Oil, yaitu blondo, belum dimanfaatkan dan menimbulkan bau menyengat ketika dibuang langsung ke lingkungan. Padahal, blondo ini diketahui memiliki kandungan protein tinggi, yang dapat digunakan untuk pencegahan stunting. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berfokus pada pelatihan dan pembuatan produk berbahan hasil samping olahan VCO pada CV. Buah Asa Tani (BAT). Pelatihan dilakukan dengan metode sosialisasi, diskusi dan tanya jawab serta praktik pembuatan cookies blondo untuk karyawan CV. BAT. Sebelum dan setelah pelatihan, terhadap peserta pelatihan dilakukan evaluasi secara terstruktur menggunakan kuesioner. Pelatihan manfaat kesehatan kelapa dan stunting, cara pembuatan cookies blondo untuk karyawan CV. Buah Asa Tani telah diselenggarakan dengan seluruh peserta (100%) menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan. Hal ini menunjukkan potensi positif dalam mengatasi masalah limbah industri kelapa sambil meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat setempat. Kata Kunci: Blondo, VCO, Pengabdian Masyarakat, Stunting, Kue Kering  ABSTRACT One of the world's leading producers of coconuts is Indonesia. Coconut processing companies, such as UMKM that sell coconuts or coconut goods, are an essential industry to guarantee that farmers receive their share of the product. The by-product of making Virgin Coconut Oil, namely blondo, has not been utilized and causes a strong odor when thrown directly into the environment. Blondo is known to have a high protein content, which can be used for stunting prevention. The purpose of this community service activity focuses on training and making products made from by-products of VCO processing in CV. Buah Asa Tani (BAT). The training was delivered to CV BAT employees through socialization, discussion, and question-and-answer sessions, along with the practical application of baking blondo cookies. Before and after the training, the training participants were evaluated in a structured manner using a questionnaire. The community service activities carried out through training and making blondo cookies products have increased the trainees' knowledge and ability to process blondo. This shows a positive potential in addressing the coconut industry waste problem while improving the skills of the local community. Keywords: Blondo, VCO, Community Services, Stunting, Cookies

Abstract

South Lampung Regency is the second largest cocoa bean producer in Lampung Province. This natural resource is very abundant, one of which is in Tarahan Village, South Lampung, but until now it has not been optimally processed and is only sold in the form of dry brown beans which have low selling value. This is because the villagers does not know how to process cocoa beans into cocoa products. Therefore, this service program aims to assist the target community in processing cocoa beans into ready-to-sell products (jam and mask) to improve people welfare. This activity consisted of providing material and training in making jam and chocolate masks for 1 day. After the training, the villagers were able to understand and practice making the chocolate jam and mask. This program is expected to increase chocholate selling value as local regional commodities.
