Abstract

Kandungan gizi termasuk vitamin A dan C pada pisang susu dan pisang ambon diprediksikan berpotensi sebagai antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi antiradikal antara buah pisang susu dan pisang ambon dengan vitamin C sintetik sebagai pembanding sehingga didapatkan seberapa besar kemampuan daya antioksidan pisang susu dan ambon yang dihasilkan dalam pengonsumsian buah bila diinginkan kekuatan antioksidan yang dihasilkan oleh vitamin C murni pada kadar tertentu. Penelitian ini terdiri atas pengukuran aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode 2,2-Difenil-1-Pikrilhidrazil (DPPH) sehingga didapatkan data aktivitas antioksidan dan Inhibitory Concentration50 (IC50)dari pisang susu, pisang ambon dan vitamin C sintetik. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebanyak 2418,84g pisang susu berpotensi sebagai antioksidan yang setara dengan potensi antioksidan 1 gram vitamin C bila diukur dengan pereaksi DPPH 0,4mM, sedangkan sebanyak 9229,79g pisang ambon berpotensi sebagai antioksidan yang setara dengan potensi antioksidan vitamin C 1 gram bila diukur dengan pereaksi DPPH 0,4mM.

Abstract

Gold nanoparticles (G-NPs) were successfully synthesized using Gracilaria sp seaweed extract. Visually, color changes from purple-blue to ruby red and then finally to pink. UV-Vis spectrophotometer showed the optimum condition of G-NPs at 531 nm wavelength with an absorbance value of 1.1. The fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy shows the absorption peak of functional groups at the Gracilaria sp seaweed extract like hydroxyl group (-OH), aromatic (C=C), alkane (C-H), and amine (C-N) at the wavenumbers of 3356, 1613, 1456, and 1182 cm-1, respectively. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) shows the crystallinity peaks of G-NPs at 2θ: 38.3o, 44.1o, 64.8o, and 77.8o with miller indices of (111), (200), (220), and (311). The Particle size analyzer (PSA) shows the distribution and particle size average of G-NPs was 11.8 nm. Analysis of particle zeta charge (PZC) confirms the total charge of inter-particles was -24.7 mV. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images shows the G-NPs was spherical shape with a particle size was 20 nm. The hand soap@G-NPs have a pH of 6.0 and foam height stability of 4.1 cm for 10 min.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mensintesis nanokomposit Au/ZnO melalui media green synthesis dengan memanfaatkan ekstrak daun gaharu (Aquilaria malaccenensis L). Ekstrak daun gaharu berfungsi sebagai bioreduktor alami dan capping agent dalam pembentukan nanokomposit Au/ZnO. Kehadiran koloid Au pada permukaan ZnO dapat merubah nilai celah pita, struktur kristal, ukuran partikel, dan nilai sun protection factor (SPF) ZnO. Au/ZnO nanokomposit memiliki nilai celah pita sebesar 3,0 eV dan hasil karakterisasi X-ray diffraction (XRD) menunjukkan puncak kristalinitas pada 2: 33,6o; 35,1o; 36,3o; 46,6o; 54,7o; 59,7o; 64,3o; dan 66,2o dengan rata-rata ukuran kristalit sebesar 37 nm. Gugus fungsi yang terkandung dalam ekstrak daun gaharu adalah O-H (3300 cm-1) berfungsi sebagai bioreduktor ion Au3+ menjadi Au0, C=C (1620 cm-1), dan C-N (1350 cm-1) berfungsi sebagai sumber basa dalam pembentukan Zn(OH)2 menjadi ZnO. Vibrasi Au-Zn-O terlihat pada bilangan gelombang 498 cm-1. Nilai SPF pada Au/ZnO nanokomposit sebesar 18,28. Dari data karakterisasi menunjukkan bahwa media ekstrak daun gaharu dapat digunakan sebagai bioreduktor alami, sumber basa, dan capping agent dalam dekorasi Au pada permukaan ZnO (Au/ZnO) nanokomposit.

Abstract

SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE (SLS) DECORATED α-PbO NANOCRYSTALS: OPTICAL, STRUCTURE, AND MORPHOLOGY PROPERTIES. The α-PbO nanocrystals were successfully decorated using sodium laureth sulfate (SLS) anionic surfactant. The method used is one-pot synthesis approach. The precursor used is lead nitrate (Pb(NO3)2). The UV-Vis spectrophotometer showed the absorption peak of α-PbO nanocrystals was seen at wavelength of 237 nm and an absorbance value of 0.7. The optical properties of PbO nanocrystals can be seen at the bandgap value of 4.2 eV. FT-IR spectroscopy showed the shift of absorption peak at the wavenumber of 1358 cm-1. XRD spectroscopy showed the crystals of PbO at diffraction angles (2θ) of 10-80o: 29.17, 32.54, 37.85, 39.62, 45.16, 46.21, 56.12, and 61.73 with miller indices of (111), (200), (201), (121), (220), (030), (311), and (032), respectively. The crystal size average of PbO was 56.32 nm. The results of PSA and PZC shows the particle size distribution of PbO is 71.5 nm with inter-particle charge of -25 mV. SEM-EDX data shows the PbO nanocrystals have an irregularly spherical with a compounds composition of Pb (83.12%) and O (16.88%). From the data of characterization, it can be concluded the PbO nanocrystals was successfully decorated using the surfactant anionic of sodium laureth sulfate.

Abstract

Nutrients including vitamin A and C on milk banana and ambon banana predicted potential as an antioxidant. This study aims to determine the radical potential of pisang susu and pisang ambon with synthetic vitamin C as a comparison so we get how much antioxidant power of ambon banana and milk banana produced in the fruit if desired pengonsumsian antioxidant power of vitamin C produced by pure at certain levels. This study consisted of measuring the antioxidant activity by the method of 2,2-Diphenyl-1-Pikrilhidrazil (DPPH) so that the data obtained antioxidant activity and Inhibitory Concentration50 (IC50) of milk banana, ambon banana and vitamin C synthetic. From the research results can be concluded that as much as 2418.84g of milk banana as an antioxidant potential equivalent to the antioxidant potential of 1g of vitamin C when measured with 0.4 mM DPPH reagent, while the total of 9229.79g of ambon banana as an antioxidant potential equivalent to the potential antioxidants vitamin C 1 gram when measured with 0.4mM DPPH reagent.

Abstract

Meatballs and wet noodles are foods that are favored by the community. The high water content causes these two types of food to be vulnerable and easily damaged in storage. The addition of chemicals such as preservatives in the manufacture of food products is carried out by producers so that the products are more durable, economical, and produce maximum profit. One chemical that is often misused for food preservatives is formaldehyde. Formalin is a dangerous chemical that is carcinogenic, mutagenic, corrosive, and irritating. This study aims to determine whether there is formalin content in meatballs and wet noodles that are sold in the districts of Sukarame, Wayhalim, and Sukabumi. This research was conducted in a qualitative analysis using Schiff's reagent on 30 samples of meatballs and 30 samples of wet noodles which were sold in Sukarame, Wayhalim, and Sukabumi. The results showed that 10 samples of meatballs and 2 wet noodles showed positive results containing formaldehyde. This shows that around 33.3% of the meatball sample and 6.66% of the wet noodles sample analyzed were identified to contain formaldehyde so that they are not safe for consumption in the long term and people must be careful in selecting meatballs and wet noodles for consumption. Abstract

Bakso dan mi basah merupakan makanan yang mudah ditemui di Indonesia. Tak heran apabila hampir disetiap pusat keramaian dan sepanjang jalan utama disetiap daerah terdapat warung makan yang menyajikan bakso dan makanan berbahan dasar mi basah. Boraks merupakan zat aditif berbahaya yang sering digunakan sebagai pengawet dan memperbaiki tekstur bakso, akan tetapi penggunaan boraks sebagai pengawet makanan dilarang di Indonesia karena dapat menyebabkan berbagai macam penyakit seperti gangguan syaraf pusat hingga gangguan pada hati. Kota Bandar Lampung merupakan Ibukota Provinsi Lampung, berdasakan Badan Pusat Statistik Kota Bandar Lampung Kecamatan Sukarame, Sukabumi dan Wayhalim menjadi 3 dari 5 besar kecamatan dengan jumlah penduduk tertinggi tahun 2020 di Kota Bandar Lampung. Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis ada tidak nya kandungan boraks pada bakso dan mi basah yang dijual di Kecamatan Sukarame, Sukabumi dan Wayhalim di Kota Bandar Lampung. Metode pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah random sample dimana terdapat total 30 sampel bakso dan 30 sampel mi basah yang diuji. Hasil uji kualitatif kandungan boraks pada seluruh sampel menunjukkan tidak ada kandungan boraks pada bakso dan mi basah yang dianalisis (100% negatif boraks).

Abstract

Famotidine has emerged as a candidate for COVID-19 treatment, with various studies investigating its impact on the virus. These studies have reported encouraging results, suggesting that famotidine might contribute to fighting COVID-19 by potentially blocking histamine release, TMPRSS, and fortifying glycocalyx. Clinical trials aimed at assessing the effectiveness of famotidine in patients with COVID-19 have observed that it contributed to quicker alleviation of symptoms and reduction in inflammation, without compromising the body's immunity against SARS-CoV-2. However, in the case of patients with severe illness, famotidine's use did not significantly enhance survival rates. Although further investigation is necessary, famotidine has shown promise in alleviating symptoms and reducing inflammation in COVID-19 cases.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by elevated blood glucose levels due to impaired insulin secretion, insulin resistance, or both. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) accounts for approximately 90% of all diabetes cases and remains a significant global health challenge. Current pharmacological treatments often have limited efficacy and adverse side effects, necessitating the exploration of safer, more effective antidiabetic agents. Momordica charantia (bitter melon) is a medicinal plant known for its hypoglycemic properties, attributed to bioactive compounds such as cucurbitane-type triterpenoid glycosides, charantin, and momordicin. This study evaluated the potential of cucurbitane, charantin, and momordicin as antidiabetic agents for T2DM using molecular docking simulations. The crystal structure of aldose reductase (PDB ID 2HV5) was obtained from the Protein Data Bank, and AutoDock Tools 1.5.7 was used for docking studies. The binding affinities and interaction patterns of the test compounds were compared with zopolrestat, a standard ligand. Cucurbitane exhibited the lowest binding free energy (-11.70 kcal/mol), indicating the strongest interaction with the 2HV5 protein. All compounds demonstrated similarities in their interactions with key amino acid residues, suggesting comparable biological activity. These findings highlight cucurbitane’s potential as a lead compound for developing more effective antidiabetic therapies for T2DM.
