Abstract

The analytical thinking skills is important are mastered in all areas of the work, so it needs to be trained at school. But in fact, only 5% of Indonesian students have analytical competence, the competency of most students at the level of knowledge or memorization. Research is conducted to uncover activities, analytical thinking skills, and pre-service student teachers' of natural science education responses through model 4A (phenomenon Analysis, information Analysis, data Analysis, and findings Analysis). The results of study were obtained that: 1) pre-service student teachers' activities are still relevant to learning; 2) the results of the average test results analytical thinking skills, it can be said high that is 78.9; and 3) pre-service student teachers' response to the fluid lecture with model 4A is categorized positively. These results, need to be encouraged to other courses so that the possibility of analytical thinking skills will increase significantly.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan profil gaya mengajar dari seorang guru IPA menurut persepsi siswa kelas VII di SMP Bi’rul Ulum. Model penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif jenis survey. Populasi penelitian menggunakan seluruh siswa kelas VII (60 peserta didik) di SMP Birul Ulum. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dalam bentuk google form yang diberikan kepada peserta didik kelas VII di SMP Bi’rul Ulum. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gaya mengajar yang dilakukan oleh seorang guru IPA di SMP Birul Ulum menggunakan gaya mengajar secara klasikal dengan memperoleh persentase 69% yang termasuk kedalam kategori baik, hasil ini ditinjau dari indikator peran guru dominan dengan persentase 61,3% dengan kategori baik, isi pelajaran berupa sejumlah informasi yang paling populer dan dipilih dari dunia yang diketahui anak dengan memperoleh persentase 77% dalam kategori baik, cara penyampaian bahan pelajaran dengan komunikasi secara lisan memperoleh persentase 54,% dalam kategori cukup baik, penyampaian bahan pelajaran yang disertai dengan contoh yang konkret diikuti dengan pertanyaan memperoleh nilai 76,7% dalam kategori baik, guru menyampaikan ikhtisar yang berfungsi sebagai informasi mengenai bahan pelajaran secara garis besar memperoleh nilai 73,5% dalam kategori baik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu bahwa gaya mengajar yang dilakukan oleh guru IPA menurut persepsi siswa kelas VII di SMP Birul Ulum menggunakan gaya mengajar secara klasikal. Saran dari penelitian ini untuk peneliti selanjutnya yaitu peneliti selanjutnya diharapkan dapat mengungkap fenomena lebih mendalam tentang hasil analisis data karena dalam penelitian ini hasil angket untuk gaya mengajar klasikal dan indikator yang diteliti mendekati hanya terpaut kecil.

Abstract

This research aims to describe students' critical thinking ability in science subjects based on learning style. The research method uses qualitative research with phenomenological approaches. The research site was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Tulangan Sidoarjo. Data retrieval techniques using tests, questionnaires, and interviews. Data analysis techniques using the Miles & Huberman (2014) model include data reduction, data presentation, verification and conclusions. There are 6 indicators of critical thinking abilities revealed that include interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation (Facione, 2013). The study only used 5 indicators of critical thinking ability without self-regulation, this is because they cannot be revealed in a short time. The results of the study found that (1) indicators achieved in visual learning styles include interpretation, evaluation, and inference, (2) indicators achieved in auditory learning styles namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and explanation, and (3) indicators achieved in kinesthetic learning styles namely: interpretation and evaluation. All subjects achieved not same indicators, while the all subjects also did not achieve all indicators of critical thinking ability. Further research is expected to be the efforts of natural science teachers in achieving all indicators of critical thinking ability, among others by doing habituation and consistent in training critical thinking ability.Keywords: Critical thinking ability,Secondary school student’s,Natural Science,Learning Style

Abstract

Local wisdom that was raised as a model to understand the concept of natural science has been done in various regions and improved good results. In the current condition of the covid-19 pandemic, natural science teachers need effective learning strategies in conveying concepts, through natural science learning based ethno-STEM this can be answered. The community servicer was gathered natural science teachers of SMP Muhammadiyah throughout Sidoarjo regency to develop natural science learning based ethno-STEM what material and instruments through training. This activity was attended by 21 natural science teachers, representing of ten SMP Muhammadiyah throughout Sidoarjo regency. The activity lasted for 4 days from December 30, 2020 to January 2, 2021, which produced natural science learning based ethno-STEM what material and instruments for secondary school grade VII, VIII, and IX even semester. These learning material and instruments have also been studied by experts so that the results of improvements will improve the validity of the devices and instruments in question. The resulting devices and instruments will be compiled and made into practical books teaching natural science based ethno-STEM. This book is then registered in the Library of The Republic of Indonesia and registered in the Intellectual Property Rights. Advice for further community service activities so that devices and instruments can be implemented in students so that their practicality and effectiveness are tested.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the influence of PhET Interactive Simulations on the motivation of learning and understanding the concept of natural science subject matter. This research is a type of quantitative research with design method using one shot case study design. The population and research sample is grade VIII students of SMP 4 which consists of 1 class. The instruments used in this study are motivational learning questionnaires and concept comprehension tests. The technique of analyzing the data of this study is to use correlation statistics. The results showed there was an influence of PhET Interactive Simulations on learning motivation with a low relationship influence rate of 0.273, there was the influence of PhET Interactive Simulations on understanding the concept of natural science with a low influence level of 0.324, and there was the influence of PhET Interactive Simulations on the motivation of learning and understanding the concept of natural science with a low influence level of 0.122. it can be concluded that PhET Interactive Simulations affects the motivation and understanding of the concept of natural science. Further research is expected to uncover other factors that influence the motivation of learning and understanding student concepts in addition to the use of PhET Interactive Simulations.

Abstract

The research aims to describe the implementation of fluid lectures in classrooms and laboratories on the integration of Al-Islam values through the Pemaknaan Learning Models, analyzing student learning outcomes, and describing Students' response in fluid lecturing through the Pemaknaan Learning Models. The study was conducted in 4 academic year students 2018/2019 a number of 18 students. The results showed that: 1) fluid lecturing in classes as well as in laboratories is carried out well, linking the concept of fluid to the values of Al-Islam; 2) Student learning results of the minimum B category; and 3) 88% of students respond positively to the fluid lecture by integrating Al-Islam's values through a learning model of use.

Abstract

The research aims to describe the role of teachers and constraints in learning activities from home during the covid-19 pandemic at SD Islam Sari Bumi Sidoarjo. The focus of teacher role research includes pedagogical competencies, namely the ability of teachers to manage classes with 3 indicators namely planning, implementation, and assessment of learning. The research method uses a qualitative approach to phenomenological types. Research instruments use questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman models include data reduction, data display, verification and conclusions. The results showed that the role of teachers in learning activities from home during the covid-19 pandemic at SD Islam Sari Bumi Sidoarjo on planning indicators, and learning assessments have been achieved. As for the obstacles faced by teachers in learning activities from home during the covid-19 pandemic at SD Islam Sari Bumi Sidoarjo is a network / signal that is not good and parents who pay less attention to the child's duties because they are busy working. Further research is expected to uncover the facts through different sources, because the learning activities are done from home then the checking of the validity of the role of the teacher can be done to the student or the parents, thus the analysis and conclusion will be in-depth.

Abstract

Natural science is a subject that can be delivered through various strategies in understanding the concept, one of which is through ethno-STEM, with Sidoarjo local wisdom that is packed integrated with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This strategy is done to practice analytical thinking skills. The purpose of the study to describe the effectiveness of natural science learning based ethno-STEM to practicing the analytical thinking skills of secondary school students. The research method uses quantitative research type experiments with one group pretest and posttest design, class VIII student population of 120 students with a sample of grade VIII B a number of 30 students in MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Taman Sidoarjo. Research procedures include pretest, treatment by implementing natural science learning based ethno-STEM, and posttest. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics. The results showed that the implementation of naturak science learning based ethno-STEM is said to be effective, namely 1) the implementation of average learning 3.7 very well categorized, 2) student activities relevant to the average learning 3.6 categorized very well, 3) there is an increase in the value of analytical thinking skills of students by 0.6 moderate category, and 4) positive student response to learning by 90%. Further research is expected to be able to compare treatment between classes, as well as other variables that contribute to learning so that the analysis will be deeper.

Abstract

Sidoarjo masih termasuk dalam 5 kota teratas dengan angka kematian ibu tertinggi di Jawa Timur, walaupun sudah ada penurunan kasus kematian tahun 2017 ke tahun 2018 dari 30 menjadi 23 kasus  (Laporan Kesehatan Ibu Provinsi Jawa Timur, 2018). Dinas Kesehatan Sidoarjo melaporkan bahwa 40% kematian ibu disebabkan oleh perdarahan dan 33% oleh pre / eklampsia. Faktor-faktor ini dapat dicegah dengan deteksi dini selama perawatan antenatal dan intrapartum dan rujukan pada waktu yang tepat. Deteksi dini dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai cara, seperti pemanfaatan Aplikasi Si Cantik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan faktor yang berpengaruh pada pemanfaatan aplikasi melalui persepsi dukungan organisasi dan niat perilaku dengan teori TAM. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Jumlah subjek penelitian adalah 75 bidan di Puskesmas di Sidoarjo yang dipilih secara acak dengan simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan Regresi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah variabel keyakinan (0.006), inovasi teknologi (0.000) dukungan organisasi (0.000), persepsi kemudahan (0.000) dan persepsi kegunaan (0.000), memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap niat untuk menggunakan Aplikasi Si Cantik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah karakteristik pribadi, persepsi dukungan organisasi, kemudahan dalam menggunakan aplikasi merupakan faktor penentu keberhasilan pemanfaatan Sistem Informasi Cegah Kematian Ibu dan Anak Sidoarjo (Si Cantik).

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model Project Based Learning terhadap berpikir kreatif siswa. Metode penelitian kuantitatif pra eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one group pretest-postest design yang diujikan kepada satu kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan instrumen penilaian berupa soal tes berbentuk essay sebanyak 4 soal untuk mengetahui berpikir kreatif siswa. Populasi yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas VIII di SMP Dharma Wirawan 3 Tanggulangin. Analisis data menggunakan uji-t melalui aplikasi IBM SPSS 23.0. Hasil penelitian ini persentase berpikir kreatif siswa setelah di diberikan perlakuan menggunakan model Project Based Learning dapat dihitung dari setiap indikator dalam soal. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji-t menggunakan paired simple t-test diperoleh nilai signifikan 0,000 lebih kecil dari taraf signifikan 0,05; kelas eksperimen berpengaruh pada model Project Based Learning terhadap berpikir kreatif siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model Project Based Learning terhadap berpikir kreatif siswa berada pada katagori baik setelah diterapkan model Project Based Learning.
