Abstract

Reading comprehension is an activity carried out by an individual to be able to get the core of the message expressed by the author in understanding the meaning through a text or word media. Reading comprehension skills are an important component to help learners master various concepts so that they can find and understand a lot of information. By reading and understanding it, learners are expected to understand the core of the reading they read and can get something useful. The RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain and Create) learning model is a model that uses stages in learning according to the name of the model, namely reading, answering, discussing, explaining and creating. This study aims to find a solution to reading comprehension problems using the RADEC model. This research uses a quantitative method of experimental type using a pre-experimental design using the One-Group Pretest Post-test Design model with a sample size of 30 students. Abstract

This research aims to describe multiliteracy model in the lecture Introduction to Literature, semester 3 students of English Department, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo. Research methods that will be used is qualitative descriptive on the lecture Introduction to Literature. Research data obtained from the results of questionnaires and interviews with students, student assignment documents, learning materials and assessment system of the lecturer. The data in this study were collected through observation which is equipped with observation, interviews with guidelines based on the guidelines of the interview, the document to see the response of the students, as well as documented through photos and videos. All data are then analyzed and checked each other. The validity and reliability of research accomplished through member check and outsider check. Discussion and consultation with experts and literature, language learning and literacy experts conducted to obtain accurate data. The research was conducted in two stages, among other things: 1)  research on the multiliteracy aspects of student in the English Department, which is reflected in multiliteracy competence in Introduction to Literature lecture; 2) research on the students’ response  against the multiliteracy competence in the lecture of Introduction to literature.

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kreativitas hasil gambar imajinatif peserta didik kelas IV ditinjau dari aspek kemampuan tinggi, sedang, rendah di SDN Sawohan 1 Sidoarjo. Pendekatan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif untuk menganalisis kreativitas hasil gambar imajinatif peserta didik SDN Sawohan 1 kelas IV berdasarkan aspek kemampuan tinggi, sedang, rendah. Dikatakan dalam teori kreativitas ada 5 macam perilaku kreatif: 1) fluency (kelancaran), yaitu kelancaran dalam membuat pola garis secara spontan, 2) flexibility (keluwesan), yaitu, keluwesan dalam mengubah pola garis menjadi gambar imajinatif, 3) originality (keaslian), yaitu keaslian dalam membuat gambar yang berbeda dari temannya, 4) elabration (ketrampilan merinci), yaitu elaborasi dalam membuat gambar secara rinci sesuai tema, 5) evaluation (keterampilan menilai), yaitu gambar yang dibuat sesuai tema. Nara sumber ini berjumlah 3 peserta didik dengan pertimbangan keunikan karya yang tampak dalam setiap karyannya. Teknik keabsahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan triangulasi teknik, yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yang di peroleh dari menganalisis 3 gambar dari nara sumber ini menunjukkan bahwa gambar yang dibuat peserta didik masuk dalam kategori kreatif karena ke-lima aspek kreativitas terpenuhi, namun pada aspek elaboration (ketrampilan) subjek teliti masih perlu latihan, karena objek pada gambar digambarkan tanpa ada jari tangan yang utuhKata Kunci : Kreativitas, Menggambar Imajinatif, Evaluasi.Abstract : This study aims to analyze the creativity of imaginative images of class IV learners reviewed from the aspect of high, medium, low ability in SDN Sawohan 1 Sidoarjo. The approach taken in this study is qualitative descriptive to analyze the creativity of the imaginative images of SDN Sawohan 1 class IV learners based on aspects of high, medium, low ability. It is said in the theory of creativity there are 5 kinds of creative behavior: 1) fluency (fluency), namely fluency in making line patterns spontaneously, 2) flexibility (flexibility), that is, flexibility in changing the pattern of the line into imaginative images, 3) originality (authenticity), namely authenticity in making images that are different from friends, 4) elabration (detailing skills), namely elaboration in making images in detail according to the theme, 5) evaluation (judging skills), namely images made according to the theme. Nara this source numbers 3 learners with consideration of the uniqueness of the work that is seen in each work. Data validity techniques are carried out using triangulation techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research obtained from analyzing3 images from this source show that the images made by learners fall into the creative category because all five aspects of creativity are fulfilled, but in the elaboration aspect of the subject is still necessary exercise, because the object in the image is depicted without a full finger.Keyword : Creativity, Imaginative Drawing, Evaluation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya fenomena lapangan menunjukkan guru kelas 2 jenjang sekolah dasar telah menerapkan pembelajaran dengan model area berbasis konektifisme, yaitu pembelajaran dengan memberikan kesempatan kepada semua peserta didik untuk memilih area belajar mana yang menjadi minat mereka untuk mengembangkan kompetensinya. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan model pembelajaran terhadap self Confidence peserta didik. Jenis penelitianya merupakan kualitatif fenomenology, dengan data yang diperoleh melalui hasil observasi pada seluruh peserta didik berjumlah 26. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah area menggambar sebesar 99%, area membentuk sebesar 99%, dan area prakarya 99%, dari data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan kurikulum merdeka melalui model pembelajaran area berbasis konektifisme mampu meningkatkan self confidence peserta didik kelas 2 Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan dari hasil analisis di SDN Singopadu yakni untuk melakukan penelitian mengenai Pengembangan Media Pop-Up Book berbasis pendekatan kontekstual untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas IV SD, dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan media Pop-Up Book berbasis pendekatan kontekstual terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa Kelas IV SDN Singopadu Tulangan Jenis penelitian artikel ini adalah penelitian pengembangan RnD (research and development). RnD yaitu penelitian untuk menghasilkan suatu produk kemudian diuji kegunaannya pada peserta didik, model yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE. Pengembangan Media Pop-Up Book berbasis pendekatan Kontektual untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SD dikatakan telah memenuhi kriteria valid dengan presentase validitas 98,3%, praktis dengan presentase 93,9%, efektif dengan presentase keefektifan 88%, dan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa berdasarkan hasil perolehan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV 0,73 dimana dalam interpretasi N-Gain 0,7 “Tinggi” dan keefektifan hasil belajar berdasarkan presentase N-Gain sebesar 73,27% masuk dalam interpretasi keefektifan hasil belajar 56%-75% dinyatakan “Cukup Efektif”. Sehingga media Pop-Up Book berbasis pendekatan kontekstual dinyatakan layak, praktis, dan efektif untuk diimplementasikan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran siswa di kelas, serta mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas IV SD.

Abstract

Artikel penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan hybrid learning pada motivasi belajar siswa serta menjelaskan bagaimana motivasi belajar siswa dalam penerapan hybrid learning. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 2A yang telah dikategorikan sesuai dengan tingkat prestasi yaitu rendah, sedang, dan tinggi. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan angket. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi teknik dengan alasan dilakukan cara mengecek data kepada sumber yang sama dengan teknik yang berbeda. Penerapan hybrid learning ini terbukti dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Hal ini terlihat dari munculnya indikator-indikator motivasi belajar siswa di kelas setelah dilakukannya pembelajaran hybrid learning. Siswa terlihat bersemangat, penuh perhatian,bersungguh-sungguh dalam belajar serta aktif berdiskusi dan mencari tambahan materi melalui internet.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on improving the self-efficacy of fourth-grade elementary school students in science subjects. The research was conducted at SDN Ngampelsari, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, Indonesia, involving 32 fourth-grade students. Self-efficacy refers to students’ belief in their ability to face challenges, complete tasks, and achieve learning goals. It plays a critical role in enhancing motivation, learning behavior, and academic success. This study employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design, using a one-group pretest-posttest format. The instrument used was a self-efficacy questionnaire distributed before and after the implementation of the PBL model. The model was applied through structured learning activities involving real-life problem solving, collaboration in group work, and the development of critical thinking skills to find solutions. The contextually meaningful tasks helped students actively engage with the material and with one another. The data collected were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and N-Gain analysis. The Wilcoxon test showed a significance value of 0.000, which indicates a statistically significant difference in students' self-efficacy before and after treatment. The average N-Gain score was 0.7835, categorized as high. These findings demonstrate that the PBL model had a strong positive effect on students' psychological readiness for learning by enhancing their confidence, active participation, and persistence when facing challenges. In conclusion, the Problem-Based Learning model is not only effective for improving cognitive outcomes but also contributes to the development of students’ non-cognitive competencies. It is recommended for wider implementation in elementary schools to promote meaningful, student-centered, and empowering learning environments aligned with 21st-century education goalsy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar dalam mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS). Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik akibat dominasi metode ceramah yang bersifat pasif dan kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental design) tipe Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV di SDN Ngampelsari dengan total 63 siswa, yang terbagi menjadi dua kelompok: kelas eksperimen (31 siswa) yang diberi perlakuan model PjBL, dan kelas kontrol (32 siswa) yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes uraian yang mencakup indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis: menganalisis, mengevaluasi, menginterpretasi, dan menyimpulkan. Data diperoleh melalui pretest dan posttest, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, paired sample t-test, dan independent sample t-test dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang signifikan pada kelas eksperimen, dengan rata-rata peningkatan skor sebesar 25 poin dan nilai signifikansi 0,001 (p < 0,05). Sementara itu, kelas kontrol juga mengalami peningkatan sebesar 13 poin, namun dengan tingkat signifikansi lebih rendah (0,031). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa model PjBL lebih efektif dibandingkan metode konvensional. Model ini memberikan pengalaman belajar yang kontekstual, meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa, dan mendorong pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis secara sistematis dan kolaboratif. Dengan demikian, model PjBL dapat dijadikan alternatif inovatif dalam pembelajaran IPS di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Background: The integration of media in elementary education remains underutilized, limiting opportunities for students to develop essential cognitive skills. Specific Background: Particularly in science education, conventional teaching methods often fail to foster critical thinking among primary school students. Knowledge Gap: Limited empirical studies have examined the role of video-based instructional media in enhancing critical thinking within the context of Indonesian elementary classrooms. Aims: This study investigates the use of video-based learning media in improving fifth-grade students’ critical thinking skills during science lessons on puberty. Results: Utilizing a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test on two groups (n=60), the study found a statistically significant improvement in the experimental group using video media (t=12.331, p<0.001) compared to the control group. The experimental group demonstrated higher gain scores, attributed to engaging delivery, clear visualization, and flexible access to materials. Novelty: This study contributes novel insights into the effectiveness of video-based learning specifically within the Indonesian elementary science education context. Implications: The findings suggest that implementing video media as a teaching tool offers a pedagogical innovation that can support the development of critical thinking skills in young learners and provide practical strategies for educators seeking to enrich science instruction. Highlights :  Use of video media significantly improves students' critical thinking in science learning. Research applies a quasi-experimental design with valid statistical analysis (t=12.331, p<0.001). Study offers practical implications for integrating engaging media in elementary classrooms. Abstract

This study aims to introduce a picture-based crossword puzzle media integrated with storytelling to support learning activities that enhance students’ reading comprehension skills. The research employed a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental method using a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The population consisted of third-grade students at SDN Lebo Sidoarjo, with a sample of 38 students. Data were collected through interviews and tests, which included pretest and posttest instruments. The data analysis technique utilized the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics. The results showed that the picture-based crossword puzzle media based on storytelling had a significant influence on students’ reading comprehension, as indicated by a p-value of 0.046 (< 0.05) and an improvement in posttest scores compared to pretest results. Therefore, this study concludes that the picture-based crossword puzzle media integrated with storytelling is feasible and effective as an alternative learning medium to enhance reading comprehension among elementary school students.
