Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of understanding the relationship between personality traits and children's language development, particularly in the area of morphology. The aim of this research is to describe the differences in morphological development in eight-year-old girls with introverted and extroverted personality types. This study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The research subjects consist of three girls: two with introverted personalities and one with an extroverted personality. All three subjects are students at a public elementary school located in the Kranggan area, Bekasi City. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, using image-based stimuli designed to elicit written linguistic responses. The primary data consist of the children’s written texts, which were analyzed with a focus on their acquisition of morphological forms, including prefixes, suffixes, circumfixes, and reduplications. The findings show that the three subjects produced a total of 340 affixes, comprising 91 prefixes, 12 suffixes, 61 circumfixes, and 23 reduplications. The differences in personality types appear to influence the variation and quantity of morphological forms used by each child. Theoretically, this research contributes to psycholinguistic studies, particularly in exploring how psychological factors affect language development. Practically, the findings can be utilized by teachers, speech therapists, and parents as a foundation for designing language learning strategies that are tailored to the child’s personality traits in order to optimize their linguistic potential.

Abstract

Bahasa memiliki beragam fungsi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Salah satu fungsi bahasa adalah Media yang digunakan manusia untuk mengungkapkan ekspresi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan anak usia tiga tahun dalam memanfaatkan fitur-fitur bahasa untuk mengungkapkan ekspresi emosional. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif.  Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah anak perempuan bernama Shafa yang berusia tiga tahun. Teknik pengumpulan data yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, simak, dan catat. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa tuturan-tuturan yang diproduksi oleh subjek. Penelitian ini penting untuk dikaji untuk mengetahui pemahaman serta perkembangan ekspresi bahasa yang dapat dituturkan oleh anak berusia 3 tahun dan penelitian ini pun berhasil menetapkan adanya tiga jenis tindak tutur di dalam lima konteks tuturan yang sudah dapat diungkapkan dengan baik oleh Shafa, yaitu tindak tutur tidak langsung jenis ilokusi ekspresif, tindak tutur ironi jenis ilokusi komisif, dan tindak tutur tidak langsung dan tindak tutur ilokusi direktif.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the factors causing and forms of lisp in 5 and 6 year old male siblings with the initials ABR and YSF. This study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method. The data in this study were in the form of speech produced by ABR and YSF as research subjects who are lisp sufferers. The data collection tech3niques applied in this study were interviews, and listen and note (SLC). The results of the study showed that there was alisp sufferers that caused difficulties and errors in pronouncing several phonemes in their use in a word, both at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of the word. In this case, YSF experienced a lisp in the pronunciation of the phonemes /L/, /R/, /X/ and /Z/, while ABR experienced a lisp in the pronunciation of consonant phonemes in the form of pronunciation of phonemes /G/, /K/, /L/, /Q/, /R/, /X/, and /Z/, In addition, based on the results of interviews conducted with the subject's parents, it was concluded that the lisp suffered by ABR and YSF was caused by physiological factors and environmental factors. This study provides an important contribution to the study of early childhood psycholinguistics, especially in understanding the factors that influence lisp . In addition, this study can be a basis for the development of more specific and contextually based speech therapy, which can help children overcome pronunciation disorders from an early age.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk senyapan yang dilakukan oleh penderita gangguan kesehatan mental, khususnya oleh AS yang berusia 22 tahun yang menderita depresi berat dan borderline personality disorder, HG yang berusia 24 tahun yang menderita anxiety disorder, dan AL yang berusia 21 tahun yang menderita depresi dan bipolar disorder; mengetahui di mana saja letak senyapan tersebut. Sumber data primer dalam penelitian ini ialah tuturan yang dituturkan oleh tiga orang dengan gangguan kesehatan mental saat sedang berbincang di kanal YouTube Menjadi Manusia dengan judul #TitikTemu Para Penyintas Gangguan Kesehatan Mental. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang dilakukan dengan teknik simak dan catat. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik simak bebas libat cakap. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat jenis senyapan diam senyapan terisi, dan senyapan campuran yang muncul dalam video yang dianalisis ialah senyapan diam muncul sebanyak 18 kali, senyapan terisi sebanyak 9 kali, dan senyapan campuran sebanyak 13 kali. Penutur yang paling banyak melakukan senyapan ialah AL dengan 15 kali senyapan yang dilakukan, disusul dengan HG dengan 14 kali senyapan, dan AS yang melakukan 11 kali senyapan. Letak senyapan pada jeda gramatikal ditemukan sebanyak 8 data, senyapan pada batas antara satu konstituen sebanyak 20 data, dan senyapan sebelum kata utama dalam konstituen sebanyak 14 data.

Abstract

Each language community has a unique disagreement strategy in online communication that reflects its cultural values and communication norms. Disagreement can be expressed differently depending on the medium used. In face-to-face communication, disagreement tends to be expressed indirectly and with mitigation. In online communication, disagreement tends to be expressed explicitly and without mitigation. This study describes the strategies for expressing disagreement in the Info Cegatan Jogja Group and the factors that cause the emergence of various disagreement strategies in the group. The study used a descriptive qualitative method to analyze sentences expressing disagreement in posts from the ICJ Facebook Group.  The data sources were message walls and comment fields. The study identified four types of disagreement strategies: one-speech strategy, two-speech strategies, three-speech strategies, and four-speech strategies. Verbal communication is the primary strategy employed to express disagreement among ICJ members. The study found that most disagreements are classified as strong, based on the level of confrontation. Various disagreement strategies were identified, which can be attributed to factors such as social media dynamics, posting topics, gender dynamics, and cultural influences. Understanding strategies for managing disagreements and cultural norms surrounding it is essential for successful communication.

Abstract

Slang is a language that is popular among the millennial generation. This slang is not always used in everyday life. This research aims to describe the language sound patterns found in slang. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative method. The data in this research is in the form of slang vocabulary. The data source of this research is slang in social media. The data in this study were obtained using documentation, listening, and note-taking techniques. The results show that there are several sound patterns in slang on social media including twitter, instagram, and tiktok. The pattern of slang formation is the phenomenon of phoneme changes and changes in the phoneme structure of words. Social media plays an important role in the wide spread of slang. Social media is one way to socialize between individuals and become a means of entertainment. The purpose of slang is to joke, greet, mock, and to build closeness between friends. Therefore, the use of slang in the millennial generation is a self-expression to establish friendship and intimacy between friends.   Bahasa gaul adalah bahasa yang populer di kalangan generasi milenial. Bahasa gaul ini tidak selalu digunakan pada kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pola bunyi bahasa yang terdapat di dalam bahasa gaul. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kosa kata bahasa gaul di media sosial. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah bahasa gaul dalam media sosial. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh menggunakan teknik dokumentasi, simak, dan catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa pola bunyi dalam bahasa gaul di media sosial antara lain twitter, instagram, dan tiktok. Pola dari pembentukkan bahasa gaul yaitu fenomena perubahan fonem dan perubahan struktur fonem pada kata. Media sosial sangat berperan penting bagi penyebaran luas bahasa gaul. Media sosial merupakan salah satu cara untuk bersosialisasi antar individu serta menjadi salah satu sarana hiburan. Tujuan dari bahasa gaul ini untuk bercanda, menyapa, mengejek, serta untuk membangun kedekatan antara pertemanan. Maka dari itu, penggunaan bahasa gaul pada generasi milenial itu sebagai ekspresi diri untuk menjalin keakraban antar sesama teman dan menunjukkan identitas kelompok.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan bercerita pada anak usia 9 tahun. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data berasal dari tiga anak usia 9 tahun berinisial NAR, LP dan MA. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara peneliti memberikan objek gambar kepada anak, kemudian anak menceritakan objek gambar yang diberikan sesuai dengan kemampuan dan pengalamannya. Teknik yang digunakan dalam menganalisis data adalah dengan membaca, menyimak, dan mencatat. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa anak usia 9 tahun memiliki kemampuan menulis cerita berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi sesuai dengan objek yang diberikan peneliti, seperti mampu menulis cerita dengan ejaan yang baik, mengetahui isi objek gambar, dan mampu menerapkan tata krama yang harus dilakukan di dalam objek gambar. Hal inilah yang membuat anak usia 9 tahun mampu menulis cerita dengan baik dan terstruktur.

Abstract

Disagreement is a difference of opinion expressed differently based on the media used. Based on this phenomenon, it is interesting to define an expression of disagreement and the types of discourse that trigger it on Facebook, which tends to be accessible and not distant. Analyzing these two things is interesting and important as something new in pragmatic studies. This study aims to define the expression of disagreement and describe the types of messages that get a lot of disagreement responses in the ICJ Facebook group. The current research utilized a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data in this study are messages and comments that contain disagreement in the ICJ Facebook group. Data collection was carried out using documentation, observation, and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique utilizes semantic and pragmatic perspectives. The results showed that the expression of disagreement could be defined as a negative expression expressed verbally as a reaction when the speaker opposes or denies the opponent's proposition or vice versa in a communication context. Posts or messages that get a lot of disagreement responses have the following characteristics, 1) the topics discussed relate to the disclosure of social problems from a personal point of view, 2) aim to assess social phenomena or as social criticism, 3) type of expressive and persuasive discourse.

Abstract

Language development in a child is related to the cognitive development that the child has mastered. This research aims to describe the extent of language development in 12 year old children in expressing opinions. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The subject in this study was a 12 year old child, male, and with the initials AMF. This data comes from interactive interview tests and listening and note-taking techniques regarding AMF's opinions. The results of the research show that: (1) the language development of a 12 year old boy with the initials AMF is perfect. (2) AMF has mastered the syntactic aspects and found 2 sentence structures, namely simple sentence structures and complex sentence structures. (3) in the interview results, AMF can speak sentences well and complexly.
