Abstract

Abstract Based on data from the observation of high school students grade XI that daily low student test scores due to a lack of role of students in the learning process. This classroom action research aims to improve learning outcomes and student motivation through discovery learning method in colloidal material. This study uses the approach developed by Lewin consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques used the questionnaires and ability tests end. Based on the research that results for students received a positive influence on learning by discovery learning model by increasing the average value of 74 students from the first cycle to 90.3 in the second cycle and increased student motivation in the form of two statements based competence (KD) categories (sometimes) on the first cycle and the first statement KD category in the second cycle. Thus the results of this study can be used to improve learning outcomes and student motivation. Keywords: Discovery Learning Method, Learning Outcomes, Student Motivation, Colloid

Abstract

Cultivating learning motivation is crucial for instilling passion in students for studying chemistry. However, traditional learning methods that rely on little media usage fail to enhance students' willingness to learn. Macromedia Flash learning media is a practical option for enhancing student learning motivation. This media promotes active student engagement and cultivates enthusiasm and passion for learning. This study aims to assess the impact of Macromedia Flash learning media on students' motivation to learn and their understanding of the subject of enthalpy change. The research methodology employed in this study is a quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group. The research was conducted at SMA Nusantara Plus, using class XI Science 1 as the experimental group and class XI Science 2 as the control group. Each group consisted of 33 students. The instrument used was a non-experimental tool in the form of a questionnaire consisting of 25 statements to assess learning motivation. The t-test conducted for the hypothesis test yielded a two-tailed Significance value of 0.000, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1). The study's findings demonstrated that using Macromedia Flash learning media significantly impacted students' motivation to learn the material on enthalpy change.

Abstract

Buffer solution is one of the chemical materials that is complex and uses a lot of numerical calculations. Low student learning outcomes in learning are caused by many factors. One of them is the failure of the teacher in creating fun learning for students, teachers must be able to create a learning atmosphere that can encourage students to actively learn. Therefore, it is necessary to apply joyful learning strategies through snowball throwing to improve learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of joyful learning strategies through snowball throwing on student learning outcomes on buffer solution material. The research method used was quasi experiment. The research design used was nonequivalent control group design. The samples in this study were XI MIPA 2 class totaling 35 students and XI MIPA 3 class totaling 35 students. The research instrument used was a multiple choice test question to see student learning outcomes. Data were analyzed using SPSS. The results of the Mann-Whitney hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.000 < the significant level of 0.05 which states that Ha is accepted so it can be concluded that the use of Joyful Learning strategies through Snowball Throwing has an effect on student learning outcomes on buffer solution material.

Abstract

This research is motivated because the low scientific literacy of Indonesian students based on PISA. The purpose of this research in order to understand the influence of a Problem Based Learning (PBL) using Socio Scientific Issues (SSI) learning context on students’ scientific literacy abilities. This research was conducted at SMAN 28 Kabupaten. The method used in this study was quasi experimental design, with research design nonequivalent control group. Population of this study were all the student of XI science classes. The data were collected through essay test consisting of 13 items related to scientific literacy abilities. The data obtained were analyze by independent sample t-test. The test result of independent sample t-test show sig < 0,05 at significance 5%, then H1 is accepted. The result indicated that Problem Based Learning (PBL) using Socio Scientific Issues (SSI) learning context had a significance effect on students’ scientific literacy abilities in acid base topic. Abstract

The study aims to determine the scientific literacy ability of class IPA 11th grade students at traditional Islamic boarding schools using the 2015 PISA framework. Descriptive quantitative method used for this research. The research was conducted at two traditional Islamic boarding schools in South Tangerang called the Jamiyah Islamiyah Islamic Boarding School and the Madinatunnajah Islamic Boarding School. The research sample consisted of 57 students consisting of 33 students of the Jamiyah Islamiyah Islamic Boarding School and 24 students of the Madinatunnajah Islamic Boarding School chosen using a purposive sampling technique. The written test used is a test that distributed at PISA 2012 and 2015 which focus on two main domains of PISA 2015 scientific literacy, namely the domain of competence and knowledge. The results of this study indicate that the scientific literacy skills of students in Islamic boarding schools using the 2015 PISA framework are still "low" with an average percentage of scientific literacy obtained of 29.03%.

Abstract

Methylene blue wastewater from the paper, clothing, and textile industries can adversely affect aquatic ecosystems if improperly treated. One method to treat methylene blue pollutants in sewage is through photocatalysis techniques using magnesium ferrite (MgFe2O4) nanoparticle-based semiconductors. The MgFe2O4 is effective for methylene blue degradation because it is stable in aqueous systems, inexpensive, and has good photocatalytic activity. This study aims to synthesize MgFe2O4 nanoparticles with pumpkin seed extract (Cucurbita moschata) as a capping agent through a hydrothermal method. Characterization results show that MgFe2O4 nanoparticles synthesized with the addition of 3 mL pumpkin seed extract have a crystal size of 3.87 nm, cubic spinel structure, average particle size of 29 nm, and band gap energy value of 1.94 eV. The MgFe2O4 nanoparticles produced optimum degradation efficiency under mercury lamp irradiation with a degradation capacity of 391.98 mg/g at pH 12. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pengembangan media pembelajaran e-modul berbasis Ispring Suite pada materi laju reaksi. Metode Research and Development (R&D) digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan model ADDIE. Model pengembangan ADDIE terdiri dari analyze (analisis), design (perancangan), development (pengembangan), implementation (penerapan), dan evaluation (penilaian), namun pada penelitian ini dibatasi tanpa tahap penilaian. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu instrumen analisis kebutuhan, instrumen validasi storyboard e-modul, instrumen validasi ahli materi dan ahli media, instrumen validasi angket respon siswa dan guru, serta instrumen angket respon siswa dan guru. Dalam validasi prototype media pembelajaran e-modul ini, terdapat tiga orang ahli materi dan tiga ahli media dengan hasil persentase kelayakan materi sebesar 98,81% dengan kriteria ‘Sangat Layak’ dan persentase kelayakan media sebesar 96,33% dengan kriteria ‘Sangat Layak’. Uji coba terbatas terhadap 87 orang siswa dan dua orang guru kimia menghasilkan persentase hasil respon siswa secara keseluruhan sebesar 85,8% dengan kriteria ‘Sangat Layak’. Sementara itu, hasil respon guru secara keseluruhan sebesar 89,99% dengan kriteria ‘Sangat Layak’. Dengan demikian dapat disebutkan bahwa media pembelajaran e-modul berbasis Ispring Suite pada materi laju reaksi yang dikembangkan mendapatkan respon yang positif dari siswa dan guru sehingga layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas air Sungai Cigunung, Sukabumi yang meliputi TDS, TSS, pH, DO, BOD dan COD. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di tiga titik sepanjang Sungai Cigunung, yaitu stasiun 1 (hulu), stasiun 2 (tengah) dan stasiun 3 (hilir). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu pada ketiga stasiun berkisar antara 23,21°C - 26,62°C; TDS berkisar antara 0,16 mg/l - 0,75 mg/l, pH berkisar antara 7,73 - 7,78; DO berkisar antara 6,4 mg/l - 71 mg/l; nilai TSS pada stasiun 1 dan 2 masing-masing sebesar 0,91 mg/l, dan 0,08 mg/l pada stasiun 3; serta nilai BOD pada stasiun 2 dan 3 masing-masing sebesar 4 mg/l dan 3 mg/l. Berdasarkan hasil analisis parameter air dengan menggunakan baku mutu air PP No. 22 Tahun 2020 diketahui bahwa bagian hulu sungai Cigunung Sukabumi tergolong kelas I yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk air minum sedangkan bagian tengah dan hilir tergolong kelas II yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk irigasi pertanian.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the low motivation of students in learning chemistry materials caused by learning methods that are not in accordance with their needs. Therefore, a differentiated learning approach is needed that can meet students' learning needs. The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of differentiated learning with the help of PBL model on students' motivation and learning outcomes on buffer solution material. Researchers used pre-experiment method with one group pretest-posttest design and quantitative approach. The research sample used 34 students of class XI SMA Negeri 10 Depok in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, which was selected through purposive sampling. Data was collected through a questionnaire that included 20 statements for learning motivation and formative scores for learning outcomes. The results of hypothesis testing using the Paired Sample T-test showed a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000, which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Based on the test results, it can be concluded that differentiated learning with the help of PBL models has a significant effect on student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Pati sebagai bahan dasar bioplastik membutuhkan bahan penguat atau filler. Selulosa adalah bahan alami untuk filler, semakin kuat bila ditambahkan dalam bentuk nano. Kulit pisang kepok dan kulit daun lidah buaya merupakan limbah organik yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan bioplastik, yaitu sebagai sumber pati dan selulosa.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperoleh konsentrasi nanofiber selulosa dari kulit daun lidah buaya dalam pengembangan bioplastik berbahan dasar pati dari kulit pisang kepok. Bioplastik yang berbahan dasar pati kulit pisang kepok diperkuat dengan perlakuan penambahan nanofiber selulosa dari kulit daun lidah buaya (0%, 2%, 4% dan 6% dari 5 g berat pati) dengan 5 kali pengulangan, dan ditambahkan plastisizer berupa gliserol (40%). Defibrilasi selulosa menggunakan ultrafine grinder Supermasscoloider. Bioplastik dicetak menggunakan metode casting molding. Parameter yang diamati adalah kuat Tarik, ketahanan air, dan waktu biodehradasi. Penambahan nanofiber selulosa dari kulit daun lidah buaya meningkatkan kualitas bioplastik. Hasil terbaik diperoleh pada penambahan nanofiber selulosa 6% yang memiliki nilai kuat tarik 38,89±6,11 kgf/cm2, ketahanan air 75,30±3,61%, dan waktu biodegradasi 47,93 hari. Penambahan 6% nanofiber selulosa dari kulit daun lidah buaya bisa digunakan pada pengembangan bioplastik berbahan dasar pati dari kulit pisang kepok.
