Abstract

This study aims to investigate the disparities in mathematics learning outcomes of students instructed through the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) and Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning methods concerning algebraic arithmetic operations. The study was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah Jayapura. This research employs an experimental design using counterbalancing. The study population comprised class VII of SMP Muhammadiyah Jayapura during the 2024/2025 academic year, with the research sample consisting of classes VII-B and VII-C, each containing 34 pupils. The sample selection employed a purposive sampling method. Data on learning outcomes were obtained through a validated assessment instrument. We analyzed the pretest and posttest scores to derive normalized learning outcome values (N-gain). Due to the non-normal distribution of the data, we evaluated the N-gain value using non-parametric statistics via the Wilcoxon test. The study's results showed a significant difference in learning outcomes between the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) and Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning models, with a sig. ρ value of 0.401, which is higher than 0.05. The mean N-gain value in Teams Games Tournament (TGT) (0.93) surpassed the mean N-gain value of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) (0.92). The study's results indicated that student engagement in learning through the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) method surpassed that of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model. The disparity in activity was substantial according to the Wilcoxon test, with a significance level of sig. ρ = 0.705.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive qualitative research that aims to describe the implementation of content differentiated learning based on students' learning readiness on Sine Rule material in class XI-7 SMA Negeri 1 Jayapura. The subjects of this study amounted to 34 students who were selected using purposive sampling technique.  The instruments used include teaching modules, diagnostic assessments, teacher observation sheets and individual tests. Before learning, a diagnostic assessment was conducted to categorize students into three categories of learning readiness, namely low, medium and high. The assessment results showed that the learners were divided into 7 groups: 3 low groups, 2 medium groups, and 2 high groups. The implementation of content differentiated learning based on the assessment results went very well. This is shown by the results of teacher observation by the math teacher observer of 88.175% and by the co-researcher of 90.625%, both of which are included in the excellent category. The individual test results showed that 30 out of 34 learners reached the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM), while the 4 learners who were not complete came from groups with low learning readiness.

Abstract

This study looks at 1) the typical math problem-solving mistakes students make using the Newmann procedure after learning with digital books through guided discovery, 2) errors related to how independent students are in their learning, and 3) how independent students are in their learning after using the guided discovery model. Analysis is descriptive in this research. This research included SMPS Dharma Patra grade VIII students. Data analysis indicated that 1) students made the most errors in solving mathematical problems-solving problems based on the Newmann procedure after the guided discovery learning model using digital books was applied: high-category students made encoding errors, and medium-category students made process skill errors and writing errors. 2) Moderate learning independence pupils make 20% transformation mistakes, 80% process skill errors, and 90% writing errors. Students with limited learning independence make 66.67% comprehension errors, 77.78% transformation errors, 100% process skill errors, and 100% final response writing errors. In addition, 36.67% of high-learning independence kids satisfied all criteria. Moderate learning independence students meet four to five markers at 33.34%. Low learning independence students meet one to three markers at 30%.

Abstract

This study aims at documenting and analyzing the traditional number system of the Mee tribe in Papua within an ethnomathematics framework. Papua is a cultural well with the numeral system reflecting the values of the culture and the social structure of the society. Such integration of culturally based mathematical concepts with the help of the ethnometematic approach might be theoretically expected to enhance mathematical learning, relevant from a cultural point of view. Qualitative research with participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and artifact analysis was carried out in Sentani-Sereh. From the research, it can be said that the uniqueness of the combination between single and decimal numbers can indicate the structure of the Mee Tribe culture. This system shows a possibility for implementation in culture-based learning. This documentation leans more towards cultural preservation efforts, enriching the literature of ethno-mathematics and recognizing traditional knowledge, which is part of cultural heritage and needs to be preserved in the wave of modernization
