Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tradisi Réak dan Bénjang Lugay Pusaka di kampung CiJambé. Tujuan penelitian ini mengkaji nilai-nilai filosofis yang terkandung dalam kesenian tradisional Réak dan Bénjang Lugay Pusaka di Kampung Cijambé. Kesenian ini tidak hanya menjadi bentuk ekspresi budaya, tetapi juga sarana pelestarian kearifan lokal dan spiritualitas masyarakat setempat. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam, dan studi literatur, penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa Réak dan Bénjang memiliki nilai-nilai filosofis yang mencerminkan harmoni antara manusia, alam, dan Sang Pencipta. Kesenian ini juga menjadi media pendidikan moral, penguatan identitas budaya, serta pengikat solidaritas komunitas. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pelestarian budaya tradisional sekaligus memperkaya khazanah ilmu pengetahuan dalam bidang antropologi dan filsafat budaya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penghormatan kepada leluhur dan sebagai bentuk rasa syukur atas segala berkah yang telah diberikan oleh Tuhan Yang Maha Esa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tradisi ngubur bali di Desa Cikalong, Kecamatan Pajawan Kidul, Kabupaten Kuningan, merupakan upacara adat yang memiliki makna spiritual mendalam bagi masyarakat setempat. Proses upacara ini melibatkan berbagai ritual, mulai dari persiapan sesajen hingga pemakaman dengan penuh doa dan harapan agar bayi mendapatkan kedamaian. Selain sebagai ritual keagamaan, Ngubur Bali juga berfungsi sebagai pengikat sosial yang mempererat tali persaudaraan antarwarga desa. Dalam pelaksanaannya, tradisi ini memperlihatkan kebersamaan masyarakat dalam menghadapi kehilangan dan menjaga nilai-nilai luhur yang diwariskan turun-temurun. Dengan demikian, tradisi ini tidak hanya sebagai pemakaman fisik, tetapi juga sebagai sarana spiritual dan sosial yang memperkuat identitas budaya masyarakat Desa Cikalong.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis teks naskah kuno Wawacan Selarasa karya Ruhaliah yang telah di transliterasi dan dipublikasikan pada situs SiPena Perpustakaan Nasional. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami struktur naratif, tokoh, serta nilai-nilai budaya yang terkandung dalam teks tersebut. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi pustaka dan analisis isi terhadap teks transliterasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif-interpretatif guna mengungkap makna mendalam dari setiap bait cerita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Wawacan Selarasa memiliki struktur naratif yang kuat dengan tema perjuangan, spiritualitas, dan kepercayaan terhadap takdir. Selain itu, ditemukan adanya unsur mitologi dan simbolisme yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai budaya masyarakat Sunda kuno. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teks wawacan dapat menjadi sumber penting dalam memahami sejarah, budaya, dan sistem kepercayaan masyarakat masa lalu. Abstract

The background of this research is the untouched assessment model of student-friendly learning of the Sundanese language. Therefore, Student Friendly Assessment is very important because 1) increases learning motivation: When students feel understood and acknowledged for their diverse potential, their learning motivation increases. 2) Student-friendly assessments can help create a positive and inclusive learning environment, will also help create a safe learning environment because student-friendly assessments help create a safe learning environment, where students feel comfortable participating, sharing opinions, and asking questions without fear judged. 3) Improving Teaching Effectiveness: Through student-friendly assessments, teachers can identify students' strengths and weaknesses more comprehensively. Thus, teachers can adapt teaching methods to suit individual needs. 4) Flexibility in Implementation, it is important to provide a variety of ways for students to demonstrate their understanding. It is carried out by taking into account a variety of written and unwritten formative assessments, such as unwritten assessments in the form of class discussions, plays, project products, presentations, and oral tests, while written tests include reflections, journals, essays, posters, and written tests. The purpose of this research is to describe the latticework of student-friendly assessment models of learning Sundanese learning assessment models in learning Sundanese, as well as guidelines for formative assessment models in student-friendly learning of the Sundanese language that can provide information for schools, both in terms of content, coverage, format and time of delivery as well as optimal benefits for learning Sundanese language and literature at junior high school level in West Java. The method used in this research is a development model using the Research and Development research genre which aims to produce a product in the form of a student-friendly assessment model of learning Sundanese and an assessment guide for learning Sundanese language and literature at junior high school levels in West Java. The expected results of this study are the adjusted student-friendly Sundanese learning assessment grids based on the Sundanese language learning assessment model in junior high school, student-friendly assessment models in Sundanese language learning that have been developed and tested, as well as guidelines for formative assessment models in learning Sundanese at junior high school level in Jawa Barat.

Abstract

This research is based on the fact that the diagnostic assessment model in Sundanese language learning has not yet been touched upon because the Merdeka Curriculum will only be implemented in 2022. This research aims to describe the grid of the Sundanese language diagnostic assessment model, the diagnostic assessment model in Sundanese language learning, and guidelines for assessment models. Diagnostics in Sundanese language learning are based on the Independent Curriculum, which can provide information for schools regarding content, coverage, format, delivery time, and optimal benefits for learning Sundanese language and literature at the junior high school level in West Java. The method used in this research is a development model using the Research and Development type of research, which aims to produce a product in the form of a diagnostic assessment model in Sundanese language learning because of the Merdeka Curriculum and a diagnostic assessment model guide in Sundanese language learning because of the Merdeka Curriculum at junior high school level in West Java. The research results expected from this research are a grid of diagnostic assessment models in Sundanese language learning because the Merdeka Curriculum has been adapted based on diagnostic assessment models in Sundanese language learning in junior high schools, diagnostic assessment models in Sundanese language learning that have been developed and tested, as well as guidelines for diagnostic assessment models in learning Sundanese at junior high school level in West Java. The output of this research is papers submitted at international meetings, articles published in local journals, and IPR drafts in the form of copyrights.

Abstract

This study examines the narrative structure and moral values in the novel Catétan Poéan Réré by Ai Koraliati, a contemporary Sundanese literary work that boldly addresses LGBTQ+ issues, particularly gender identity and sexual orientation (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning), within a society that upholds religious norms, propriety, and social harmony. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis techniques to identify forms of moral values, classified according to Sudaryat’s framework, which includes human relationships with God, the self, others, nature, time, and the pursuit of both physical and spiritual well-being. The analysis reveals that all six categories of moral values are manifested explicitly and implicitly through the narrative, dialogues, and character actions. The novel presents emotional dynamics, moral conflicts, and reflective processes experienced by the characters as they face social pressures and questions of identity. Beyond its strong narrative structure, the work conveys profound ethical messages without being didactic. Catétan Poéan Réré illustrates how literature can serve as a space for dialectical engagement between traditional values and the complexities of contemporary Sundanese social realities. Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji struktur naratif dan nilai-nilai moral dalam novel Catetan Poéan Réré karya Ai Koraliati, sebuah karya sastra Sunda kontemporer yang secara berani mengangkat Isu LGBTQ+ merujuk pada identitas gender dan orientasi seksual (Lesbian, Gay, Biseksual, Transgender, dan Queer/Questioning) yang ada dalam masyarakat yang menjunjung tinggi norma agama, kesopanan, dan harmoni sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk-bentuk nilai moral yang diklasifikasikan oleh Sudaryat, yaitu hubungan manusia dengan Tuhan, diri sendiri, sesama manusia, alam, waktu, serta dalam meraih kebahagiaan lahiriah dan batiniah. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa keenam kategori nilai tersebut terwujud dalam narasi, dialog, dan tindakan tokoh secara eksplisit maupun implisit. Novel ini menampilkan dinamika emosional, konflik moral, serta proses reflektif tokoh-tokohnya dalam menghadapi tekanan sosial dan identitas. Selain menyuguhkan struktur cerita yang kuat, karya ini juga menyisipkan pesan-pesan etis yang dalam, tanpa kesan menggurui. Catetan Poéan Réré memperlihatkan bahwa sastra dapat menjadi ruang dialektika antara nilai-nilai tradisional dan kompleksitas realitas sosial kontemporer masyarakat Sunda.

Abstract

This article is written as a result of the study of meaning of Sundanese manuscript of a folklore titled Wawacan Ogin Amar Sakti. The study was conducted based on story’s settings and structural approach. The purpose of this study was to reveal the contribution of story’s meanings towards humanity’s environmental quality. This study utilized descriptive comparative methods, while the data collection used documentation study. The findings are in the form of interpretations concluded based on the results of data analysis results found in the text as well as its comparison with data found in other relevant sources. Based on the data analysis results, it can be concluded that the story setting elements found in Ogin Amar Sakti script is environmental/ecosystem transmission or inheritance vehicles; those are (1) to not to cut down, pollute, or turn dense forests as covert for evil deeds, (2) to look after and maintenance mountains and forests as they embody various resources, (3) to not turn forests into hunting ground for animals, and (4) to arrange settlements as delightful and pleasing place. These messages are in line with other texts and symbols such as folklore and gunungan, as well as become concrete foundation for environmental preservation and food security strategy. === Tulisan ini merupakan hasil kajian makna atas cerita naskah berbahasa Sunda Ogin Amar Sakti. Kajian dilakukan atas unsur latar cerita (setting), menggunakan pendekatan struktural. Pengkajian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengungkap kontribusi makna cerita bagi kualitas lingkungan hidup manusia. Metode yang digunakan ialah metode deskriptif komparatif. Teknik pengumpulan datanya ialah teknik studi dokumentasi. Temuan-temuan berupa tafsiran disimpulkan berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang terdapat dalam teks serta melalui perbandingannya dengan data yang terdapat dalam sumber lain yang relevan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa unsur latar cerita naskah Ogin Amar Sakti merupakan wahana transmisi atau pewarisan lingkungan hidup (ekosistem), yaitu (1) hutan lebat jangan ditebang, dikotori, dijadikan tempat menyembunyikan perbuatan jahat, (2) awasi dan pelihara gunung-gunung dan hutan karena mengandung aneka kekayaan, (3) hutan jangan dijadikan lahan perburuan satwa, dan (4) lakukan penataan pemukiman menjadi tempat yang menyenangkan dan membahagiakan. Amanat mengenai pelestarian hutan tersebut sejalan dengan teks dan simbol lain, di antaranya cerita rakyat dan gunungan, serta menjadi landasan konkret bagi peletarian lingkungan hidup dan strategi ketahanan pangan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the potential of kakawihan barudak (traditional Sundanese children's songs) as teaching materials in literary appreciation learning with a structural and ethnopedagogic approach in the Lembang District. This study used a qualitative descriptive method and successfully identified 50 kakawihan that are still alive in the community's oral tradition. Of these, 20 kakawihan were analyzed in depth based on the external structure which includes diction, imagery, concrete words, and purwakanti, as well as the internal structure which includes theme, feeling, tone, and mandate. In addition, ethnopedagogic values such as pengkuh agamana, luhur elmuna, jembar budayana, and rancagé gawéna were also found in the content of the kakawihan. The results of the study indicate that kakawihan are not only aesthetically rich, but also contain character education values and local culture that are relevant for 21st-century learning. Kakawihan barudak has been proven to be able to improve 4C skills (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication) and can be used as a contextual, enjoyable learning medium, and strengthen cultural identity. This study recommends the use of kakawihan in Sundanese literature learning in elementary and secondary schools to enrich local culture-based learning strategies. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji potensi kakawihan barudak (lagu anak-anak tradisional Sunda) sebagai bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran apresiasi sastra dengan pendekatan struktural dan etnopedagogik di wilayah Kecamatan Lembang.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan berhasil mengidentifikasi lima puluh kakawihan yang masih hidup dalam tradisi lisan masyarakat. Dari jumlah tersebut, dua puluh kakawihan dianalisis secara mendalam berdasarkan struktur lahir yang meliputi diksi, imaji, kata konkret, dan purwakanti, serta struktur batin yang mencakup tema, rasa, nada, dan amanat. Selain itu, nilai-nilai etnopedagogik seperti pengkuh agamana, luhur elmuna, jembar budayana, dan rancagé gawéna juga ditemukan dalam isi kakawihan tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kakawihan tidak hanya kaya secara estetis, tetapi juga memuat nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dan budaya lokal yang relevan untuk pembelajaran abad ke-21. Kakawihan barudak terbukti mampu meningkatkan keterampilan 4C (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication) dan dapat dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran yang kontekstual, menyenangkan, serta memperkuat identitas budaya. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pemanfaatan kakawihan dalam pembelajaran sastra Sunda di sekolah dasar dan menengah untuk memperkaya strategi pembelajaran berbasis budaya lokal.

Abstract

Cerita tentang tokoh Panji sudah populer di Asia Tenggara, bahkan sudah masuk ke dalam Memory of the World (MoW) UNESCO pada tahun 2017. Di Palembang terdapat Panji Angreni, di Bali ada Malat, di Makassar ada Hikayat Cekele, di Melayu ada Hikayat Panji Kuda Semirang, di Kamboja ada Cerita Panji Kamboja, dan dalam sastra Jawa terdapat 140 judul tentang kisah Panji. Terdapatnya cerita Panji dalam bahasa Sunda merupakan suatu hal yang tidak disangka-sangka. Naskah Wawacan Panji Asmara Ningrat merupakan salah satu cerita Panji versi bahasa Sunda, meskipun naskah ini merupakan hasil gubahan dari bahasa Melayu. Hal tersebut menegaskan bahwa cerita Panji tidak populer di pulau Jawa bagian barat, khususnya di wilayah Priangan. Oleh karena itu, kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan naskah Wawacan Panji Asmara Ningrat dan mengungkap struktur formal serta struktur naratifnya.  Metode yang digunakan yaitu kajian filologis dengan edisi naskah tunggal dan metode deskriptif-analitis untuk mengkaji strukturnya. Teknik yang digunakan ialah studi pustaka dan studi dokumentasi, sedangkan pendekatan penelitiannya menggunakan kualitatif. Hasil kajian ini berupa deskripsi naskah yang sekaligus menunjukkan bahwa isi teks wawacan tersebut cukup lengkap, tetapi struktur formalnya kurang lengkap, sedangkan struktur naratif cukup lengkap.The story of Panji is widely known throughout Southeast Asia and was included in UNESCO’s Memory of the World (MoW) register in 2017. In Palembang it appears as Panji Angreni, in Bali as Malat, in Makassar as Hikayat Cekele, in Malay literature as Hikayat Panji Kuda Semirang, and in Cambodia as Cerita Panji Kamboja. In Javanese literature alone, there are 140 versions of the Panji tales. The existence of a Panji story in the Sundanese language is therefore unexpected. The manuscript Wawacan Panji Asmara Ningrat is a Sundanese version of the Panji story, though adapted from the Malay language. This indicates that Panji stories were not widely popular in western Java, especially in the Priangan region. Accordingly, this study aims to describe the Wawacan Panji Asmara Ningrat manuscript and to reveal its formal and narrative structures. The research employs philological methods using a single-manuscript edition and a descriptive-analytic approach to examine its structure. Techniques used include library and documentation studies, with a qualitative research approach. The results show that the text of the Wawacan is relatively complete in content, although its formal structure is incomplete, while its narrative structure is adequately developed.
