Abstract

This study aims to explore the cultural dynamics and challenges involved in achieving equivalence in translation, focusing on balancing meaning and context to ensure accurate and culturally sensitive communication. The methodology includes qualitative analyses of translation cases across literary, technical, and survey contexts, employing comparative textual analysis, interviews with translators, and content analysis to examine strategies such as dynamic equivalence, localization, adaptation, and consultation with cultural informants. Analysis reveals that translators must navigate complex cultural references, idiomatic expressions, and emotional connotations while maintaining semantic, conceptual, and content equivalence. Findings highlight the importance of translators acting as cultural mediators who balance fidelity to the source text with necessary adaptations to the target culture’s norms and sensitivities. The study concludes that successful translation requires a nuanced approach that integrates linguistic accuracy with cultural competence to bridge gaps between source and target audiences effectively. Future translation efforts should emphasize collaboration with cultural experts and adopt flexible strategies to preserve both meaning and cultural context.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of comic reading in improving mental health and enhancing English language learning among students and young readers. Comics are increasingly recognized as educational and psychological tools because they combine visual narratives, contextual language, and emotional expression in an engaging format. The study employs a qualitative document review method by analysing journal articles, books, and previous studies related to comics, mental well-being, and English language acquisition. The collected data were analysed using descriptive and thematic analysis to identify the educational and psychological benefits of comic reading. The findings reveal that comics contribute positively to readers’ mental health by reducing stress, increasing motivation, and fostering emotional connection through relatable stories and characters. In language learning, comics help improve vocabulary mastery, reading comprehension, speaking confidence, and contextual understanding of English expressions. The visual support provided in comics also assists learners in understanding meaning more effectively and maintaining learning interest. In conclusion, comics serve not only as entertainment media but also as valuable resources for supporting emotional well-being and developing English language skills. The study suggests that educators integrate comics into language learning activities to create more enjoyable and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

This study explores how humble street-style fried rice can be transformed into a premium star-hotel dish by integrating advances in food processing, quality control, and culinary tourism strategy. The aims are to enhance safety and shelf-life, standardize sensory quality, and reposition fried rice as a signature upscale offering. Methodologically, the paper synthesizes recent developments in prepared fried rice technologies, including novel thermal and non-thermal processing, freezing, and quality-monitoring tools, alongside case-based insights from tourism-driven dish upgrading and local rice innovations as culinary icons. Analysis focuses on microbial safety, starch retrogradation, texture, colour, and flavour stabilization, as well as menu standardization, presentation, and branding for tourist and hotel markets. The study concludes that combining advanced processing (e.g., physical field and static magnetic field freezing) with standardized recipes and tourism-oriented branding can elevate fried rice from roadside fare to a consistent, marketable star-hotel dish.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the procedure for managing incoming letters using the NADIA (Naskah Dinas InJourney Airports) application at PTAPI. The implementation of the NADIA application represents a shift from conventional manual correspondence to a more integrated, digital-based document management system. The objective of this research is to describe and evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency, and challenges of managing incoming correspondence through the NADIA system. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews with key administrative personnel, and documentation review of incoming letters and related correspondence procedures. The analysis focused on stages of the incoming mail process, which include document receipt, classification, digital distribution, and archiving, all facilitated by the NADIA system. Findings show that the NADIA application has significantly improved the traceability, accuracy, and timeliness of handling incoming letters. It allows better monitoring, reduces document loss, and promotes environmentally friendly practices by minimizing paper use. However, several challenges were identified, such as limited training for users, occasional technical issues, and adaptation barriers among senior staff. The study concludes that while the NADIA application enhances administrative efficiency, its effectiveness depends largely on adequate socialization, infrastructure readiness, and continuous technical support. It is recommended that PTAPI improve training and provide user support to optimize the application’s potential and ensure consistent use across departments

Abstract

This paper examines the intrinsic relationship between education and society, emphasizing education's role as a foundational force in individual development and societal organization. The study aims to conceptualize education beyond the narrow framework of literacy, focusing instead on its broader sociological implications—particularly its capacity to cultivate moral values, civic responsibility, and social cohesion. Employing a qualitative, document-based research methodology, the study draws upon classical and contemporary philosophical perspectives, including those of Mahatma Gandhi and Aristotle, to elucidate the dynamic interplay between the individual, the community, and educational structures. The analysis highlights that education begins within the family unit, where fundamental human values such as empathy, compassion, and cooperation are first transmitted. As formal education expands this foundation, individuals become better equipped to engage constructively with increasingly complex social institutions—from the family and village to the state and global society. The study also outlines how these interconnected social layers evolve, underscoring the necessity of education in sustaining and advancing collective human life. In conclusion, education emerges not merely as a process of intellectual acquisition but as a transformative social force that shapes ethical individuals and cohesive communities. To ensure long-term societal well-being, it is imperative that educational systems integrate cognitive, emotional, and ethical dimensions, thereby enabling individuals to function as conscientious members of a global society.

Abstract

The growth of the MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Conference, and Exhibition) sector has become an important driver of tourism and economic development in Bali, making the delivery of high-quality services and memorable customer experiences increasingly essential for hospitality businesses. Despite the increasing demand for MICE services, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction remains a challenge for some hospitality providers, including Four Points by Sheraton Bali Ungasan. This study investigates the relationship between service quality, customer experience, and customer satisfaction among MICE clients at the hotel. A quantitative approach was employed using questionnaire-based surveys administered to 87 Persons in Charge (PICs) representing organizations that conducted MICE events at the hotel during 2024–2025. Respondents were selected through random sampling. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS 30, including classical assumption testing, multiple regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and coefficient of determination analysis. The findings reveal that service quality contributes significantly to customer satisfaction, as indicated by a t-value of 13.574, exceeding the critical value of 1.663. Likewise, customer experience demonstrates a significant positive contribution to customer satisfaction, with a t-value of 12.707, which is also greater than the critical value. Furthermore, the combined effect of service quality and customer experience on customer satisfaction is statistically significant, as reflected by an F-value of 147.907, surpassing the F-table value of 3.11, and a significance level below 0.05. These results emphasize that both service quality and customer experience are key determinants of customer satisfaction in the context of MICE event management and highlight their strategic importance for enhancing the competitiveness of hospitality establishments in Bali.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of digital marketing strategies in enhancing the brand awareness of Ichyo Crepes, a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME). The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with the business owner, and documentation study, including social media content, digital promotional materials, and other supporting records. The data were analysed using the interactive model of qualitative data analysis, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that the implementation of digital marketing strategies through social media platforms, engaging visual content, interactive promotional activities, and the utilization of customer reviews has significantly increased brand exposure and expanded the business's market reach. Furthermore, consistent content publication and active engagement with customers have strengthened brand recognition and enhanced consumer trust in Ichyo Crepes' products. However, the effectiveness of these strategies remains constrained by limited human resources, inconsistent digital media management, and intense competition within the same industry. The study concludes that a well-planned, consistent, and customer-oriented digital marketing strategy contributes positively to strengthening brand awareness and improving the competitive advantage of Ichyo Crepes in the increasingly competitive digital marketplace. The findings also provide practical insights for MSMEs seeking to optimize digital marketing initiatives to improve brand visibility and sustain business growth.
