Abstract

This study aims to find a negotiation model in the tradition of Javanese Muslim communities in resolving disputes regarding marriage and inheritance restrictions. When the reality of resolving marriage and inheritance disputes impacts family and community strife, this becomes crucial. The qualitative paradigm was used to construct this research, which included a series of observations and in-depth interviews with the disputed families and focus group discussions with informants in the East Java community. This research discovers three models for resolving the tradition of avoiding marriage and inheritance disputes in Javanese Muslim society with social components in a heterogeneous society. 1) negotiating the traditional cum theology model, 2) negotiating the tradition and law model, and 3) negotiating the traditional wisdom model. Furthermore, when many cultural traditions fade, the growing negotiation model can serve as the foundation for policy for local governments in generating variants of the nation's cultural traditions.

Abstract

The increasing use of social media has significantly impacted wireless network performance, particularly in data transmission efficiency. This study aims to analyze the impact of social media usage on network congestion and wireless data transmission efficiency. Experimental and quantitative methods were employed, utilizing direct network traffic measurement and simulation techniques. The study assessed key parameters, including throughput, latency, packet loss, and jitter, to evaluate network congestion levels caused by social media activities such as video streaming, image uploads, and real-time communication. The results indicate a 15–30% decrease in throughput, an increase in latency from 30 ms to 120 ms, a packet loss surge from 0.5% to 4–7%, and a jitter increase from 10 ms to 50 ms during peak hours of social media usage. The study also found that channel bonding techniques can improve throughput by up to 63.6% under controlled interference conditions. These findings highlight the necessity of effective traffic management strategies, including 5G network deployment, machine learning-based traffic optimization, and Quality of Service (QoS) implementation, to mitigate network congestion issues caused by the exponential growth of social media users.

Abstract

The global halal product market is proliferating, fuelling increased demand for quality halal products. To fulfil halal certification requirements, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in East Java Province, Indonesia face challenges in the certification process which is manual, time-consuming and inefficient. To overcome these problems, this study aims to explore the urgency of digitalising halal certification for optimal impact on improving the quality of halal products for MSMEs in East Java. This research employed a qualitative method with a literature and conceptual juridical approach. This research used primary and secondary data, namely BPJPH data, the Office of Cooperatives and SMEs of East Java Province. The results of this study indicate that government regulations and policies related to halal certification provide legal certainty for digital transformation in the implementation of halal certification in East Java Province. Although the achievements of MSMEs in East Java Province are low compared to those of other provinces, the digitalisation of halal certification can effectively help the MSMEs in East Java Province to reduce costs, expedite halal certification processing time, and increase compliance with halal requirements so that acceleration and increase in the number of halal certifications for MSMEs can take place properly.

Abstract

Legislation as a political product is ideally a representation of the people's aspirations and, at the same time, can impact the benefit of the people at large. However, in practice, the dominance of the interests of the political elite makes the resulting legal products represent political interest groups. This article explores the dynamics of Sharia economic law after reform in Indonesia. This research uses a conceptual-juridical approach and is a type of qualitative research. Data collection techniques are carried out by digging library sources relevant to the study topic. This study finds that the internal socio-cultural dynamics of Muslims largely determine the dynamics of Sharia economic law in post-reform Indonesia on the one hand, Islamic-leaning political parties in parliament, as well as fluctuations in the relationship between Muslims and the state. A conducive political climate enables the development of the Islamic financial industry in the region and nationally. This dynamic contributes to strengthening Sharia economic values in the legislative process and bureaucratization of Sharia economic law in the national legal ecosystem.

The implementation of Islamic economy in Indonesia is due to the fact that Islam has a comprehensive and universal teaching in all human life aspects, including economy. One encouraging Islamic banking development in Indonesia is indicated by the operation of banks accommodating the Sharia principles. The rapid development of Sharia banking requires an immediate implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) System to provide a maximum protection for the stakeholders, especially customers. The implementation of GCG is expected to help Sharia banking minimize the poor financing quality, increase the bank assessment accuracy, infrastructure, and business decision making quality as well as become the early detection to high risk business areas, products, and services. The implementation of GCG system is greatly important since Sharia banking is the intermediary institution requiring the public or stakeholders’ trust.

Abstract

Abstract

The changing times have brought significant changes to the role of women in the family and society, where increased access to education and gender equality have encouraged women's contribution to the workforce and family economic welfare. However, the dual roles carried out by career women often result in a double burden due to the demands of the public and domestic spheres, making family resilience an important issue that needs to be further researched. This study aims to explore the social support received by wives as career women for family resilience, as well as strategies for negotiating role sharing in social institutions at the family level. This study uses a qualitative field approach with ethnographic techniques, in which the researcher conducts participatory observation and in-depth interviews with informants. The theories used are legal anthropology theory, role theory, power theory, and family resilience theory. The results show that wives as career women receive social support from the public sphere, such as coworkers and workplace policies, as well as from the domestic sphere, such as their immediate family and parents. This support includes help with housework, childcare, and fulfilling the wife's needs, which are very important in maintaining a balance between dual roles. The division of roles within the family is influenced by the length of marriage, number of children, working hours, and place of residence. Effective role negotiation strategies include open communication, agreement, task flexibility, family deliberation, and mutual respect. The success of maintaining family resilience is largely determined by the ability to adapt and negotiate roles, which is influenced not only by practical needs, but also by the dynamics of power, cultural values, economics, and legal frameworks that complement each other.
