Abstract

Sistem Informasi Akademik Mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya (SIAM UB) is one of the information system services that is useful for managing student academic data. During the system development life cycle, it is necessary to evaluate the system. However, until now, there has been no research that evaluates or improves the design of the SIAM UB website when accessed via a desktop computer. In this study, an evaluation was carried out using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) to determine the level of user experience and usability testing to understand the problem more deeply. The initial evaluation resulted in the conclusion that SIAM UB can meet the needs of users in obtaining academic information. However, there are still some problems. The evaluation results are used as the basis for improving the user interface design of SIAM UB. User Centered Design (UCD) is used as an approach in making design improvements and evaluations. UCD has four stages, namely understanding and determining the context of use, determining user requirements, creating design solutions, and evaluating designs. This UCD cycle runs for three iterations to produce a design solution in the form of a high-fidelity prototype. Then the high-fidelity prototype was evaluated using usability testing and UEQ. In general, the evaluation results of usability and UEQ testing on high-fidelity prototypes show a positive value and are better than the results of the current evaluation of SIAM UB.

Abstract

SIAGUS is a teacher platform used to monitor the process of teachers' performances like teachers' promotion, teachers report to get performance allowances, teachers' data, performance appraisal, attendance, licensing or permission. SIAGUS facilitate teacher from Elementary teachers to Junior High School teachers whether they civil servants or not. This research is started by literature review. It is used as sources and references in doing the research. The next steps are choosing the respondents and design evaluation task which contains task scenarios which makes all the information gathered from the respondents is organized well. Next is usability testing evaluation and system usability scale questionnaire (SUS). In this step, data collecting is done by analyzing using ISO 9241-11 effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction. From the problems found, the researchers compiled an interface design recommendation in the form of prototype based on the guidelines.

Abstract

Information technology in modern times is currently growing rapidly so that it can facilitate all human activities such as shopping through websites. The existence of a special shopping website can make it easier for humans to find or buy products quickly and can help buying and selling business actors to get maximum profit. Looking at the opportunities resulting from the development of information technology, business actors should take advantage of the momentum of using online media or web-based internet. One example of a business actor engaged in the clothing sector is Teampolos. Teampolos is a clothing retail store whose sales process is carried out online, namely using Instagram and Whatsapp, as well as offline to serve transactions with customers directly at the store. In the sales process there are obstacles such as customers looking for products displayed via Instagram that are not always complete and actual, there is limited time in serving customers on Whatsapp, and sales recap is done manually. To overcome these obstacles, a solution is proposed in the form of a website-based information system that has a user interface as the user's first glance in using it and aims to make interactions simpler in achieving goals. To design interactions and user interfaces, a Human Centered Design (HCD) approach was used with usability testing and a Single Ease Question (SEQ) questionnaire as an assessment of user convenience in testing, and chose 5 participants, namely 2 as administrators and 3 as customers. The initial design that has been completed is then tested with usability testing and SEQ questionnaires to participants who have been determined based on their respective personas. After the initial design is completed at the evaluation stage, it will enter the design improvement stage which produces two alternative versions. The first alternative on the customer side has a value of 6.36 while the administrator side has a value of 6.53, while the second alternative on the customer side has a value of 6.6 and the administrator side 6.6. So that in the second alternative design it can be said that the given task is a little easier for participants to do.

Abstract

Senjani Kitchen is a company engaged in daily catering. In the business process Senjani Kitchen applies a coupon system. So that users are asked to buy a certain number of coupons and can use these coupons to order daily catering. However, the current process is still done manually via WhatsApp, so users must record their own coupon management. In addition, because business processes are still dependent on humans, it causes frequent errors in user orders. So that a new innovation is needed to overcome these problems. One of the innovations that can be done is with a website. In making a website, it takes a design that has a good user experience so that users will be comfortable and satisfied. Human Centered Design (HCD) is a user experience design method that focuses on user needs, so it is suitable for use as a design foundation. The results of the design evaluation that have been carried out using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) get an attraction value of 1.698, a clarity value of 1.786, an efficiency value of 1.655, an accuracy value of 1.631, a stimulation value of 1.464, and a novelty value of 0.786. Where the value of attractiveness, clarity, efficiency, accuracy, and stimulation received the predicate Good, and the recency value received the predicate above average. Thus it can be concluded that the solution design has a good user experience.

Abstract

Guidance and counseling are some of the efforts given by SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Malang in providing assistance services to students. In providing assistance services to students, guidance and counseling teachers need to collect guidance data, but the guidance data collection is still done manually written in books, this creates inefficiency and takes a long time to find the guidance and counseling data needed. The purpose of this study was to design a web application-based guidance and counseling system user interface using the Human-Centered Design (HCD) method. The HCD method is used to design the user interface because this method can understand the needs of system users. The initial stage in the HCD method is the initial data collection which is carried out by interviewing users to understand and determine the user context and determine user needs. Next, design solutions that produce wireframes and prototypes. Then carry out the first and second evaluation activities which are evaluation and improvement, the process is part of the iteration process. The last process in HCD is the final evaluation of the solution design using the System Usability Scale method. The results of the design evaluation get a SUS score of 74.375. From the SUS score, the interface design of the guidance and counseling system is included in the ACCEPTABLE category or feasible and acceptable to users.

Abstract

Si-Prestasi is an information system that serves to help teachers and students of SMP Negeri 1 Pace in conducting distance learning processes by involving technology. However, there are complaints felt by teachers and students of SMP Negeri 1 Pace in the use of Si-Prestasi such as the inaccurate information generated by the system in displaying scores, frequent disruptions on the server and difficulty for teachers and students in using Si-Prestasi due to the absence of socialization and manuals for the use of Si-Prestasi. During the implementation of Si-Prestasi has never been conducted user satisfaction analysis of Si-Prestasi. The purpose of the study was to describe the factors in End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) against Si-Prestasi at SMPN 1 Pace, which consists of variables of content, accuracy, format, ease of use, and timeliness. Data collection using quantitative in the form of dissemination of questionnaires to students and teachers smpn 1 Pace as many as 90 respondents, supported by qualitative data in the form of interviews. The analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis and source triangulation. The results of this study show that most si-prestasi users agree that the content, accuracy, format, ease of use, and timeliness contained in Si-Prestasi are good. However, there are still some users who find it difficult and feel that Si-Prestasi's system is still not good.

Abstract

Web-based Electronic Court (e-Court) is an information system provided to assist court employees in the process of registration of cases and trials in court. However, there are some problems in the application of e-Court such as frequent disruptions on the server as well as difficulty for elderly employees in using the e-Court system. In addition, during the implementation of e-Court has never been evaluated by looking at the influence factors of users, technology and organization. Thus, it is necessary to evaluate in order to achieve maximum service. This study aims to describe the success in the application of e-Court using the Human, Organization, and Technology (HOT-Fit) Model framework. Researchers apply quantitative approaches that make questionnaire results as the main research data as well as qualitative approaches derived from data obtained through interviews as complementary data in this study that is useful to strengthen the results of quantitative methods. Interviews are used to strengthen the results of quantitative questionnaires. The data collected quantitatively is processed by applying descriptive statistics. The results of this study show that the application of variables in HOT-fit to e-Court is good. However, there are still some users who find it difficult and the e-Court system is still not good.

Abstract

Ibnu Sina Mosque is one of the large mosques in Malang City which has various agendas of activities carried out in serving its congregation. In every activity the mosque administrators always coordinate routinely regarding the work given. Currently, the coordination and monitoring of the work carried out by mosque administrators is still through the WhatsApp messaging application. This raises several problems, such as the information related to the progress of the work submitted so that it collides with other information so that the person in charge of the work and the head of takmir as the highest person in charge of managing the mosque find it difficult to monitoring these jobs. Based on these problems, the user experience of the mosque activity monitoring application will be designed. So with this design, it is hoped that the work supervision process will be easier, more effective and efficient. The design process uses a Human-Centered Design approach which is iterative and involves users at every stage. The first stages begins with determining the context of use, determining user needs, making design solutions, evaluating design solutions and improving design solutions. Evaluation using usability testing method to six participants. The results of the evaluation on the aspect of effectiveness produce a success rate of 100%. Efficiency is calculated using time-based efficiency to produce a score of 0.024 goals/sec for the participating members, and 0.056 goals/sec for the head of takmir participants. The aspect of satisfaction was measured using a single ease question, getting a score of 6.2 for members and 6.17 for the head of takmir. The results of evaluation also found 13 problems that will be improved on the design solution.

Abstract

KER is an e-government service for the Malang City government through the Malang City Information and Communication Office. KER is an integration of various public service applications to realize services in one hand. However, in its use, KER has several problems experienced by its users. Based on the problems found, researchers evaluated and designed user interface improvements to KER. Evaluation was carried out by measuring the success rate and time-based efficiency of 5 respondents using a task scenario then measuring the usability value obtained through the USE questionnaire (Usefulness, Satisfaction, and Ease of Use) filled out by 20 respondents after using the system. The approach used in the design is Human Centered Design. The designs produced in this study are a wireframe and a hi-fidelity prototype. In the initial evaluation, it was found that the success rate was 86.6%, the time-based efficiency was 0.05 goals / sec and the usability value was 65%. After improving the user interface design, a re-evaluation is carried out and it produces a success rate of 100%, a time-based efficiency of 0.01 goals / sec and a usability value of 82%. After the design improvement of the user interface design is carried out, an evaluation of the design improvement is carried out and results in a success rate of 100%, a time-based efficiency of 0.01 goals / sec and a usability value of 82%. Based on the results of the evaluation of user interface improvements, the improvements increase the usability value of the system.

Abstract

Rindang is a marketplace service business of buying and selling plants, landscaping architectural services and also selling gardening tools in Indonesia. Rindang wanted to have a mobile application platform to help buying and selling plants easily, flexibly and efficiently. Based on these problems, the researcher provides a solution by designing the User Experience of the Rindang mobile application platform which creates the final result in the form of a high-fidelity prototype. The result will be able to make it easier for consumers to purchase plants in daily use. The design process uses the design thinking, in which there are five stages, namely empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing. Testing in this study will assess the aspects of learning ability, efficiency, and satisfaction by using usability testing with task scenarios and system usability scale (SUS). Based on the results of the test for the consumer system, it was obtained a value of “82.5” which was included in the criteria of acceptability for the “high level of acceptance”, the grade scale was “B”, and the adjective rating was classified as “almost good”. For a plant-selling system, it was obtained a value of “85” which was included in the criteria of acceptability for the “high level of acceptance”, the grade scale was “B”, and the adjective rating is “very good”. Whereas in the gardening service system, it was obtained a value of “80” which was included in the criteria of acceptability for the “high level of acceptance”, the grade scale was “C”, and the adjective rating is classified as “almost good”.
