Abstract

Abstract

Perlakuan terdiri atas: P0 (kontrol, tanpa infusa), P1 (infusa daun mengkudu 40 ml/l air minum), P2 (infusa daun pandan 40 ml/l air minum), dan P3 (infusa daun pepaya 40 ml/l air minum). ABSTRACT The use of natural ingredients as feed or drinking water additives in modern poultry farming continues to be developed to improve livestock performance. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of herbal leaf infusions on live weight, carcass percentage, and internal organ health in broiler chickens. A total of 200 unsexed DOC broilers of the Mabar strain were used in a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications, with each replication consisting of ten birds. The treatments were as follows: P0 (control, without infusion), P1 (noni leaf infusion at 40 ml/L of drinking water), P2 (pandan leaf infusion at 40 ml/L), and P3 (papaya leaf infusion at 40 ml/L). The observed variables included final body weight, carcass percentage, abdominal fat percentage, liver weight percentage, and heart weight percentage. The results showed that herbal leaf infusions had a highly significant effect (p<0.01) on live weight, with treatment P3 yielding the highest weight (1.63 ± 0.06 kg), and a significant effect (p<0.05) on carcass percentage, with treatment P3 showing the highest value (67.90 ± 2.13%). In addition, the infusions significantly reduced abdominal fat (p<0.05), with the lowest value observed in treatment P3 (1.83 ± 0.05%). Liver percentage showed a highly significant difference (p<0.01), with the lowest value also in treatment P3 (1.84 ± 0.06%), while heart percentage showed no significant difference among treatments (P>0.05), ranging from 0.60 to 0.67%. It is concluded that administering herbal leaf infusions, particularly papaya leaf infusion, has the potential to enhance growth performance and reduce abdominal fat without negatively affecting carcass quality and heart health in broiler chickens

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Encapsulated Extract of Andrographis paniculata Leaves (EEOAPL), dried using the foam mat drying method and administered through drinking water, on the performance and carcass quality of broiler chickens. A total of 100 day-old broiler chicks were reared for five weeks in an open-house system using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments: A0 (commercial feed without extract), A1 (basal feed without extract), A2 (basal feed + 0.4% EEDS), A3 (basal feed + 0.8% EEDS), and A4 (basal feed + 1.2% EEDS). Each treatment was replicated four times with five birds per replicate. The results showed that final body weight ranged from 1503.25 g to 1896.50 g per bird, carcass percentage from 68.26% to 72.49%, abdominal fat from 1.435% to 1.553%, and performance index from 292.61 to 397.68. Statistical analysis revealed that EEDS supplementation had a highly significant effect (P<0.05) on final body weight, carcass percentage, and performance index, but no significant effect (P>0.05) on abdominal fat.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of administering eco enzyme based on Dayak onions (Eleutherine palmifolia Merr.) on broiler lymphoid organs including bursa fabricius, spleen and thymus. The design used was a completely randomized design consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. There are 100 broilers aged 1 day to 35 days. Each test consists of 40 animals. Treatments were: A0= without addition of Dayak onion eco enzyme, A1= addition of 1% Dayak onion eco enzyme, A2= addition of 1.5% Dayak onion eco enzyme, A3= addition of 2% Dayak onion eco enzyme, A4= addition of 2.5 % eco enzyme Dayak onion. The variables observed were the bursa of Fabricius, spleen and thymus. The results of the research showed that the addition of eco enzyme based on Dayak onions had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the percentage of bursa fabricius, spleen and thymus. The conclusion of this research is that the addition of Dayak onion-based eco enzyme at different levels does not have a significant effect on broiler lymphoid organs. The addition of up to 2.5% in drinking water can still be tolerated by broilers.
