Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan teknologi pertanian dengan sistem hidroponik sederhana dengan menggunakan barang-barang bekas atau sampah-sampah anorganik dalam pembuatan instalasi hidroponik dalam mengatasi masalah dalam hal keterbatas lahan di Desa Kebonsari, Kecamatan Wonoboyo, Kabupaten Temanggung, Jawa Tengah yang disebabkan oleh jumlah penduduk yang semakin bertambah, lahan sudah digunakan untuk menanam tanaman kopi dan tembakau untuk membuat produk khas temanggung yaitu kopi dan rokok. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga bertujuan untuk mengoptimalisasi lahan sempit, meningkatkan produk pertanian berupa sayursayuran, serta meningkatkan pendapatan petani di Desa Kebonsari, Kecamatan Wonoboyo, Kota Temanggung, Jawa Tengah. Mitra kegiatan adalah Kelompok Tani dan Ibu-ibu PKK. Metode yang digunakan adalah 1). Transfer teknologi dan pendampingan yang melibatkan penyuluhan pertanian di Kecamatan Wonoboyo mengenai teknologi pertanian sistem hidroponik, 2). Pembuatan Instalasi Hidroponik Sederhana, dan 3). Pelatihan pembuatan organik dari air beras dan ampas teh. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini : 1). Wawasan petani dan ibu-ibu pkk terkait teknologi pertanian sistem hidoponik dengan memanfaatkan barang-barang bekas, 2). Petani mendapatkan pengalaman praktik bertani dengan menggunakan sistem hidroponik dengan menggunakan bibit unggul, pupuk organik berimbang, dan sistem pemeliharaan yang baik, 3). Instalasi Sistem Hidroponik sederhana di salah satu Dusun di Desa Kebonsari sebagai percontohan untuk menerapkan teknologi pertanian sistem hidroponik, dan 4). Petani dan ibu-ibu pkk mendapatkan pengalaman dan ketrampilan memanfaatkan sumberdaya lokal seperti ampas teh untuk dijadikan pupuk cair organik.

Abstract

The learning method using inquiry-based e-LKPD is expected to affect students' cognitive learning outcomes and the learning motivation. The research method used was a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample was taken by using the cluster random sampling technique. The results of the analysis of significant improvement in cognitive learning outcomes using N-gain showed that the experimental class was 0.40. The control class was 0.32 with the same moderate criteria. Learning outcomes related to students' motivation have also increased, which is known from the table analysis of learning outcomes for each indicator between the control and experimental classes. It can be seen that the control and experimental classes at the beginning of learning have equally low learning motivation, as evidenced by the results of the average proportion of motivation learners learning indicator by 43% in the control class and 45% in the experimental class. While the results of the final learning motivation questionnaire in the control and experimental classes both experienced an increase, but for the control class, it was still in the low category by 48% and for the experimental class experienced a significant increase of 78% with the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the students’ critical thinking skills who use moodle and google classroom on learning PBL models with animated videos. This is comparative research with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest group design and sampling technique cluster random sampling. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the first experimental class that used moodle is better than the second experimental class that used google classroom. This is obtained from the test results N-gain where the first experimental class obtained a gain score of 0.51 in the fair category, and the second experimental class obtained a gain score of 0.43 in the fair category. The result of t test is t count = 2,8038 > t table = 1,9917 shows that Ha is accepted so that the critical thinking skills of students who use moodle are better than google classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect and effectiveness of the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) learning model assisted by Edmodo to enhanced students’ problem solving abilities. This study uses a quasi-experimental research method. The sample in this study was taken by cluster random sampling technique. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, tests, and questionnaires. Analysis of the influence and effectiveness of the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) learning model assisted by Edmodo using N-gain analysis and comparative t-test related analysis. The results of the N-gain analysis showed that there was an increase in problem solving ability in the experimental class by 0,45 and in the control class by 0,20. The results of the comparative t-test related showed that there was a significant difference between the problem solving abilities of the control class and the experimental class with t count (3.97) > t tabel (2,0003). The results of the student response questionnaire after carrying out learning with the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) learning model assisted by Edmodo showed a very good response of 88.4%. The results showed that the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) learning model assisted by Edmodo was effective in enhanced students' problem solving abilities.

Abstract

The research objective is to reveal the knowledge of people who have visited the Jurnal Pendidikan IPA Indonesia (JPII) website about articles with international standards. The instruments used were questionnaires and interviews which were conducted a feasibility test before being used. The strategy employed was sequential explanatory by collecting and analyzing quantitative data followed by qualitative data. The articles of the participants were still unassigned and submitted from July to August 2020. The number of participants was 85 consisting of 78 lecturers, 4 students, and 3 teachers. The research results from questionnaire analysis were; the participants’ intention of visiting the JPII website as 53% to cite articles, the benefit that obtained was 69% getting references, the most interesting part of 62% was the results and discussion, the substance primacy of 35% was in the discussion section, and participants find it easiest to find novelties in the discussion section of 53%. The interview results with 79 participants (93%) stated that they had gained knowledge about international standard articles that had these characteristics; interesting topics, strong gap analysis, methods that are detailed and have novelty, and discussion that has a clear novelty.

Abstract

The education process for science student teachers in Indonesia must continue, even in a pandemic situation with an unclear end. The research aims to find the most appropriate science practicum method during the Covid-19 pandemic for science student teachers. The method used in this research is mix-methods. The research design chosen by the researcher is the Pre-Experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Participants in this study were 140 science student teachers who did distance practicum on basic biology practicum courses. Basic biology practicum is a practicum course that practices biological science, including respiration, photosynthesis, nutrient content of food, and pollutant testing. Based on gender, the participants were 62 male students and 78 female students. The value of N-Gain d > 0.58 (moderate effect) means that practicum activities can be continued as a practicum solution during the pandemic. Student activities during a practicum at home apply new adaptations different from a practicum in the laboratory. Independence in preparing materials and tools, preparing worksheets, simplifying materials, and modifying tools is a new way for students. The study concludes that a new practicum method that utilizes the environment potential is a solution in the implementation of science practicums as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The environment can be explored to find resources that can be used as practicum materials and the manufacture of basic biology practicum tools.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the feasibility and characteristics of the guided inquiry learning model assisted by a simple terrarium on students' concept understanding and environmental awareness in the global warming topic of study. The research and development (RnD) methodby analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) was performed. The data collection instruments used were observation sheets, expert validation sheets, and questions. The teaching and learning instruments were declared feasible and ready for application with a few revisions based on the validation results. The n-gain analysis of increasing students' conceptual understanding was in the high category at 0.76. The percentage of observations regarding environmental awareness increased at each successive meeting. The first meeting was 39.06%, the second meeting was 63.12%, and the third meeting was 89.37%. In conclusion, the guided inquiry learning model assisted by a simple terrarium is feasible to improve students' conceptual understanding and environmental virtue ethics.

Abstract

Prospective science teachers' research proposals are still weak in reference sources because citations from national or international journals are still lacking. The main weakness comes from the reference sources and citation methods. This study aims to measure prospective science teachers' skills in exploring reference sources for scientific articles. Exploratory skills in this research are limited to organizing a theoretical review for a thesis proposal. This research uses mixed methods. Quantitative data is obtained from the score of research proposals prepared by 34 prospective science teachers as research targets, while qualitative data is from analyzing reference sources in research proposals. Each prepares one proposal so that there are 34 research proposals studied. From the results of the proposal assessment, prospective science teachers are still weak in using references that meet the criteria of >80% of journals and reference publication years that meet the criteria of >80% of publications in the last ten years. The study concludes that learning that equips prospective teachers in preparing research proposals requires a curriculum review. Students need more profound knowledge about references, starting from getting to know journals, selecting articles, looking for articles' findings, citing, and compiling a bibliography.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve students' critical thinking skills through the application of the Discovery Learning learning model. This research was conducted in class VIII G of SMP Negeri 20 Semarang in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year with 32 students. This research was conducted in three cycles. Data obtained based on the results of observations and tests. Data collection was carried out using descriptive comparative statistical analysis. The research subjects were class VIII G with a total of 32 students. The results of the first cycle of research showed that the students' critical thinking skills were in the very high category 6.25%, the high category was 12.50%, the medium category was 62.50%, and the low category was 18.75%. In cycle II the increase was shown from the students' critical thinking skills in the very high category 40.62%, the high category 37.50%, the medium category 15.62%, the low category 6.25%, and the very low category did not exist. In cycle III the increase was shown from the students' critical thinking skills in the very high category 65.62%, the high category 28.12%, and the medium category 6.25%. The results showed that the Discovery learning model was proven to be able to improve students' critical thinking skills, where the indicator of the success of this study was an increase in the average value of mastery of critical thinking skills during learning in each cycle. Thus it can be concluded that the use of the Discovery Learning learning model can improve critical thinking skills which have an impact on improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Permasalahan pada penelitian ini adalah kurangnya ketrampilan kewirausahaan pada calon guru IPA. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengukur pengaruh dari pendekatan pembelajaran SETS berdasarkan sudut pandang industri kreatif terhadap keterampilan kewirausahaan calon guru IPA. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 82 mahasiswa Jurusan IPA Terpadu sebagai target penelitian yang mengikuti kursus Kewirausahaan. Kemampuan berwirausaha dibutuhkan para calon guru IPA agar nantinya setelah lulus, selain menjadi pendidik juga dapat mengembangkan usaha sendiri, baik itu berupa produk maupun jasa yang berbasis sains. Data primer diambil dengan teknik observasi dan diuji dengan menggunakan uji regresi yang menghasilkan skor yang signifikan yaitu 0,048 0,05. Hal ini berarti bahwa penerapan pendekatan SETS dalam pembelajaran memiliki pengaruh signifikan pada keterampilan kewirausahaan calon guru IPA. Pendekatan ini dapat menjadi salah satu solusi alternative untuk menghasilkan lulusan yang terampil secara ilmiah. Calon guru IPA yang memiliki pandangan kewirausahaan terintegrasi telah terbukti mampu merancang penerapan sains untuk menghasilkan barang-barang yang mengantisipasi efek negative pada lingkungan.
